Britannic listed since her rudder was out of the water. Since she couldn't turn properly, she listed to starboard. Her propellers were still in the water, pushing her forward as hew bow was laying in the water, causing her to turn adjacently to the currents in the ocean, resulting in her actually listing.
When you think about it, the place where the Britannic sunk really isn't that deep (about 400 feet). The Britannic itself is more than double that depth (882 feet). In essence, if you were to stand Britannic on it's end from where she sunk, you'd still have over 400 feet of the vessel sticking out of the ocean. Food for thought!
@ryanbogaerd Actually, Britannic was 94 feet wide. Anyway, I was hypothetically speaking about the length of the ship being greater than the depth of where she sank.
what I want to know... is why right when the dive team on a history channel expedition was going to solve the great mystery of brittanic (why Brittanic sank in less than half the time of her sister, even with all the safety improvements), was canceled by the Greek Government. because they are 'not allowed to take pictures inside the wreck'. Funny how there are other dives that do have photos inside the wreck. Conspiracy, or bullshit?
@09adge13 she was for a short time but both the olympic and britannic had to transform in order to avoid being sunk. the olympic and britannic were british and would be sunk considering germans did not like the british one bit
@surfingbird117 yes but when all surviving passengers are off the ship he may get into a lifeboat himself. most of the people died in the lifeboats from the propellor suction. however, very few died on the impact when it hit the mine. therefore, the captain was able to leave the ship.
I love this video.I've learned everything about the Titanic,Britannic, and Olympic.I've also learned about the other great ships(for the Cunard Line)like the Mauretania,Lusitania, and Aquitania.
@kaarelps I think they don't want face the fact that they were responsible to save the ship from disaster. They have to defend the ship to their last breath... just a speculation.
@kaarelps like the titanic. the captain went down and he was respected. bruce ismay (i dont know if thats actually how you spell his name) ,got on the lifeboat and survived. when he arrived in new york he was hated.
@kaarelps that would be disrespectful to the people inside dead. the captain is the leader of the ship and leader of all the people on it and such a loss and that will never be forgivable. he did not want to abandon his sinking ship he was captain of and he did not want to abandon the loss of lives on board he was in charge of.
well how many people are we on earth? How many Olympic class liners were built? Can you imagine that ratio. It is sad 30 persons die, but honestly i only cry about the ship
Well, both were major losses. Yes, the prestige of the Olympics was lost with the Titanic and the Britannic both going down, but they took many innocent souls with them.
wow what abeautifull song and movie i love the movie i like lnow everything about tianic and its sister ship too wow this song wroks :) thanks for putting this upp again :)!!!!!!!!!!
@beserker1912 Okay, your failure to narrow that down or to give me a point in the video where your so called mystery object can be seen renders that question completely meaningless.
Now you're just trying to provoke me, I merely said that I've read the history on these three ships, and indeed I have, but we all have; I merely made a compliment to this awesome video. Why you try to make something more out of it, I don't know, but take your trolling elsewhere, pal.
@TheAeroAvatar but you said you know everything. Theres an object on the forward wall of the b deck promenade that nobody knows anything about. Had you said, I dont know, then i would have given your argument credibility, yet you failed. I'm not trolling if I'm right.
@beserker1912 Why the hell are you creating this argument? Aren't you taking the word "everything" a little too literally? I'm not an engineer, I don't know every working part of a ship, I was really focusing on the history and all when I said that. But I shouldn't have to dignify this nonsense debate.
To answer your question, I don't know, if you're referring to the front of the ship, then I guess those are cranes. Those are cranes, okay? Satisfied yet?
@TheAeroAvatar Its not a crane. You said you know everything, so enlighten me. ok ok ok, did the californian really shut down its wireless when titanic said for them to shut up??
@beserker1912 Screw off already, I am not about to be harassed.
FYI, the Titanic received the iceberg warnings, but continued on their course through the area where the icebergs lay. Titanic called for help from everybody, and sadly, Californian's wireless was off at the time. Apparently the operator went to sleep after their final exchange, but not necessarily because of the exchange.
Stop testing me, you're taking the term "everything" TOO LITERALLY.
@TheAeroAvatar Lol calm down. The answer i was looking for was NO, they listened to titanic for a few minutes after titanic said to shut up. I was showing the world that you have basic knowledge and try to build yourself to seem smarter than you are. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
@beserker1912 Oh, so that's it then, you just want to make an ass of me. Well asshole, fine, maybe that was one detail I got wrong and maybe I don't know EVERYTHING, but who are you to claim you're better? I was not bragging, I was just remarking on my own fascination with the story of these ships, I've read much about them. That's it, there's nothing more to it, so SCREW OFF and leave me alone, okay? Or I will report you for harassment.
she was a beautiful ship, just like her sisters. Very sad what happened to her, but she still is in quite a good condition today I believe...better than Titanic anyway.
