  • I do not know if it is Warm weather where you live on not. You maybe waiting to make a new garden video. But I'm looking forward to the next 1.. Keep up the good work. Thanks

  • @Teddybearcop48 Thank you. It's still vold and wet here so it will be another month before any real gardening starts but I'll probably put a video up before I start to have a 'Before' video for 2012.

  • Hi Brendan, great to catch up on your plans for this year. Did you say that was monkey puzzle wood for turning? It'll be great to see how it turns out. take care, bye4now

  • @mugsyjeff Yes, it's Monkey Puzzle and I am getting nuts this Autumn. I saw a programme on TV recently and the guy was eating Monkey Puzzle nuts so I'm looking forward to that. I'm sure there will be a video about that.

  • Very nice plans - Good luck with everything :)

  • @AsianCookingmadeEasy Thank you. Sorry I'm so late but I'm a bit behind with replies because Y'Tube did something strange to my account but it seems to be almost fixed now.

    Best Wishes, Brendan.

  • Hi Brendan, I will make a video tomorrow about my 2012 garden, I think, talk to you later, Eric

  • Good luck with your plans this year!

  • Wow, lot of work you have planned, I am thinking about downsizing. Seems like our plans are never ending and you are right about having a reason to get out of bed.lol Good video.

  • Hi Brendan, looks like you have great plans for the year ahead, best of luck with them all. Signs of spring already appearing in the 'tropical' south, there are even a few daffodils flowering! Its been an odd winter. I think the flowering shrub at 4.13 is a viburnum, but don't hold me to it! Best of luck, Paul.

  • Brendan, You have a monumental task a head of you. It will be hard work, but when it's done , you can stand back and look at what you have accomplished. It's months of satifaction, that makes it well worth it.

  • Thanks for tagging me!! I'll try to post a video response on sunday! Tomas

  • Good luck

  • Very nice Brendan. You are way more ambitious than I am, that's for sure. All that plus plant the beds plus tend the greenhouse. You'll have no time for videos, lol.

    Regards, Gary

  • @garygardens LOL, this is why I always seem to be frustrated with my work rate...too many plans.

  • There's too much bloody cold and rain here for me to even want to think about gardening! I'm lying....I'm thinking about it....pondering....pottering.

  • 4:49 turning blanks!!!! what kind of trees are those? do i have to make a vid of my garden, what about me workshop? my garden looks a bit boring at the moment, well it does all year long but still eh?

  • @IrishWoodDoctor That is a pile of crappy Leylandi. I cut 56 of them down one Sunday afternoon. Workshop tours and plans are welcome.

  • Thank Brendan great to see all of your plans for this year. Your gardens are already looking great and you have blooms already wonderful. Our snow is all gone once again and it is 9 degrees out this morning. A very unusual winter for us according to the forecasts for the next week or so it looks like we will make it all the way through January without a major snow storm. Thanks for doing this video. Dale

  • @dalecalder2003 You're welcome. Actually, it's very useful to put plans on...well, video because now I have a definite set of jobs for Summer. I've found planning to be the most important part of my enforced retirement because I need goals to keep me motivated and active. Weather - same here, we are going to get down to 0C this weekend which is quite a change from the 11-14C we have had lately. It's the end of the World... knowing my luck I'll miss it.

    Brendan.

  • wow you have some garden and a lot of enjoyable work ahead of you

    thanks

    Robbie

  • hi brendan, bit unclear about that tagging thing does that mean video response? thanks for the ballyhoo

  • @garryentropy Yeah, it's basically a way to get your mates to make videos, I think, LOL. You have already made a garden plan video so just add that as a video response to this video and then people will be able to see it. Or, if you are feeling bored, you might want to do another garden plans video to include other stuff and add it as a response here.

  • @garryentropy Thanks Garry. Also, you can tag a few people if you wish to see their plans. I forgot about that bit.

  • have you tried sheet mulching that scotch grass with cardboard? i wonder if that will work..

  • @catfish222banjo That's worth a try. While I was making that part of the video I was thinking of landscape fabric but it has it's own problems too with trying to keep mulch on it on a slope and stuff growing down into it like seeds etc. I'll give the cardboard a go, thanks for the idea.

  • @baconsoda i live in a rainy climate and as long as i put the cardboard out when its wet, or i hose it down before i put more soil on top of it or woodchips on top, it seems to stay in place for a while. although on slopes it has rolled downhill a bit, recently i put some logs at the base of the downhill to hold the material from falling into my pathways. happy dirt playing!

  • @baconsoda also.... hahah i am lazy so i dont even pull the weeds anymore, just cover them up with more cardboard/newspaper/paper bags then top with soil/woodchips. there are too many ' weeds ' to spend time pulling them all i agree!
