Finally, I've found out what it was! I was snorkling with a friend in the Carribbean when something massive scared the crap out of me and made all the small baitfish that had been surrounding me disappear; I looked around and spotted one of these coming out of the shadow of a reef. Was really quite beautiful up close, but it took a second or two for me to register that it wasnt some strange sort of shark I was looking at!

lucky dive, just think of how big they used to be. I remember one messing with me at the Ft. Worth Zoo when I was smaller then them. It splashed me and charged me lol.

Very luck, I actually saw 3 different Giant Black Sea Bass on this dive! This one was with a partner of equal size and we saw another almost twice as big at the end of the dive.

BTW, what where you doing in the water at the Ft. Worth Zoo with a Giant Black Sea Bass?

me too... I made this dive without my video camera. This video was caught with my little Sony Cybershot, a backup camera I carry with me in the pocket of my BC. Go figure... every time I leave my video camera behind I always see the coolest stuff! :(

Is that music bt John Lurie, it sounds like the stuff he wrote for Fishing with John. Did you see this months issue of Smithsonian, there's a great article in there called The Brains behind The Jaws, the pic on the cover is great, the shark looks like he's smiling and thinking 'Hi mom'
