  • There are a lot of prototypes of Rotary Engines. All of them are interesting. No matter I think "The Best Rotary Engine, how it works" could be really the best.

  • This looks very similar to a patented invention of Lionel Otto of Brisbane Australia from about 1980

  • you know that by a slight modification to the "rollers", compression and combustion can be achieved with one piston instead of two. You should try that, it would be a much simpler design.

  • I think his design is ahead of the materials needed to be efficient. The rings that scrub the shell have not been invented yet. It is the drawback of the wankel. high rpms, thin oil, and highwear.

  • - yanni and youve got one intelligent machine here. wtf @ asian smart guy that cant turn down the music?

  • when will this engine be made its practically perfect

  • The Music is horrible- looks like ILLUMINATI BRAIN WASHING MUSIC

  • @Haridasrao369 what drugs are you on that let you see music? I'm jealous

  • @ThePsyCheMisT - I AM NOT ON DRUGS, I AM A MECH ENGR, AND INTERESTED IN NEW TECH DEVELOPMENTS. I DO NOT TAKE ANY DRUGS.

  • I've been seeing designs for rotational engines like this since the 1970s. When is someone going to BUILD one?

  • Hello everybody

    Sorry, long time no-see.

I am so sorry about THE LOUD "MUSIC", but I can't put it down or remove it.

Then I have to keep the date of the uploading (March 01, 2007) given my invention public utterance, because it need to ascertain about newly of my invention and for my authorize.

I'm terribly sorry but I really couldn't help it.

I hope you adjust volumes down (minimum) for this clip, please.

By the way, Thank you for all comments

    Kind Regards.

    MINH NGUYEN

  • Please watch:

    SUPER-EFFICIENT ENGINE Newest Design

  • molto interessante...questo motore potrebbe avere un ottimo rendimento...ma ho paura che alla minima usura degli ingranaggi rischi di spaccare tutto...

  • Too waste of energy,

Make it wiht air compressed, end please explain it.

  • HELLOOO !!!! I can't hear you, i'm extinguishing my speakers !!!!

  • yes indeed when i clicked this video all i did was push pause and turn down my speakers

  • This seems like a bit of a stretch,,, I wonder if there is way too much friction for this to be an efficient machine... I'd like to see it work

  • This is great music to sit on the toilet with and just shit like a racehorse.... then stick your poopy paper on the walls and leave the LOAF unflushed.

  • these engineers, they need to join an abstract art club and announce thier homeosexuality. this guy went this far for a hacked flat two benz crank boxer.

  • WHAAAT ? I CAANT HEAR YOOUU?

  • :D .

  • SOUND IS TOO LOUD

  • the music is too loud ya oll shithead!!

I dont know what is happening!!

    HELLPP!!!

  • remove the music and explain it ! ! !

  • I know people have complained about the music already, but this is more directed to the commentary. Can't follow if I can't hear how it functions. So I would advise to remove the music so we could hear the narrator explain how it works.

  • SOUND CONTROL

  • does anyone know the background music ? I think it's good despite the fact it's f........g loud ...

  • I flagged this for being way too loud. Scarred the damn piss out of me.

  • WHY SO FRIGGIN LOUD!?

  • LOL if its too loud your too old

  • that makes no sense ya oll shithead

  • OK then Ill explain it to you. When watching this particular vid the volume is loud, and theres a saying that goes with the rock industry "If its too loud your too old" So as a joke I commented on the vids volume, I didnt take into account that complete morons like you would read the comment personally I didnt think it was that hard to figure out but what can ya do eh?

  • YOU DUMBASS if iwas old i wouldnt be able to hear, ergo making the volume too quiet, the opposite of what I commented on, ya oll shithead

  • What is it with you yanks every time someone leaves a comment on youtube even a joke yous have to start a fight. Thats right dickhead it was a joke but your obviously to fucking stupid to get it so its wasted... Get over yourself mate the world does NOT revolve around the U.S. despite what you tell yourselves

  • i never said it wast a joke, i just dont want to be the recieving end of it, does that make me such an ass?

  • I'm intersted in reading more about what others have done on this concept. I searched Riley, and Canadian Patent # 117690 and can find no additional source on this concept. has anyone found anything.

  • SEALS. May not be necessary. Screw compressors don't use seals where you think necessary. Parts are machined to

.002 inch. Do search. Deisel have some compression and air cooling prior to combustion chamber. Wonderful concept this may be the only other true rotary engine other than a turbine.

  • Piece of shit! I will continue to use the good old otto engine.

  • o and im 13 so if u r older than me thats just sad

  • lol? wheres the piston?

  • ??? why does it need a piston?

  • the rotating center is the piston.

  • The music suck

  • Thats totaly true ryansleis>This engine utilizes 2 crankshafts to do the work of a standard engine. There cant be an increase in power in this lousy design when friction is doubled.

  • can we get over the cg representation and bad music and SEE THE ENGINE WORK?

  • i have this old book on diesel engines and i saw it there also

  • totally senseless engine!!! try watching scuderi engine!!!

  • May be you enjoy "The Best Rotary Engine" here in YouTube.

  • whats would the compressuin ratio be how would it be lubricated and how would it be cooled

  • Understand Spanish? See "Motor Rotativo Yonto" here in YouTube

    yontopapa

  • where's the compression?

  • oh thank god you caught that too. i thought i was crazy

  • Excellent! Dr. Tran doles out the rotary motion! I bet this will work.

  • Nice distorded Yanni music. :(

  • Not trying to put ya down but I just dont think this would be a practical engine. Do you have a working prototype? Id be interested to see if this could actually be built.

  • Why do You discuss your invention openly in the internet, do You want others to steal Your invention and make money with it?

  • You're going to have LOSSES all over the place! Too complex!

  • WHOA BOY! Crank that sound DOWN a bit. WHEW!!!

  • it's not that this is too complex, just pointless.

  • if this concept comes to a real motor, i think the precision would need to be perfect... but anyways i dont see future on this because the motor is too complex compared to a piston or rotor...

  • nice

  • anyone seen that built'n'running ?

  • why are we wasting our time developing dying technologies we all know that one day gasoline powered engines would be obsolete just like the steam one. So instead of developing this nonsense try something that would use a different kind of fuel or no fuel at all like a perpetuatual charging electric engine.

  • I dont think so. You can search and learn about :

_ Water for Fuel- Go Hydro Booster how it works.

_ Run My Car On Water.

    _ Fuel From Water.

    _ Free Water Energy

_ Run Your Car On Water _ CarRunsWithWater(dot)com

_ Water For Fuel In Car _ Run Your Car With Water(dot)org

    And another free fuels.

  • @1960255 Steam is not obsolete! Ever hear of a power plant? The majority of heat-powered power plants that feed our power grid electricity are steam engines, especially coal and solar-thermal plants.

  • @1960255 I run my car on pot smoke and used kitty litter

  • you cant extract net work from perpetual motion dude.. as stated by newton, if you apply any force you will begin to slow the system down... and besides we cant bring the coefficient down to zero unless we use helium as a lube, but then you would need to super cool it and no combustion or chemical reaction can take place at those low temps... trust me it isnt as easy as you say it is

  • @schrutzen Magnets.

  • @schrutzen You are an idiot ! A transitoin must be made fool ...

  • Nice.....

  • This is not new! It is a take off on the Riley engine using a split cycle - a compressor cycle and a power cycle which is someone elses idea. I have several engine designs that are better than this. I'm also developing a superior wind and water turbine with many times the power output of conventional turbines. Nice drawings.

  • Yes very good concept of new tec..

Please concintrate on oil scraper rings, also friction caused to avoid over heating and size involved for fitting

Keep up the good work awaiting your proto type model

  • Deafening volume and distorted sound - ughhhhhh|!

  • well, you will have a lot of pressure loss on the connection pipes, but you can avoid that by building them in a row, say connecting them to the same *crankshaft* because then you would only have a very short way to go.

and you better build those knobs out of some strong materials, if your planing to use it as a diesel cycle.

anyway, I really like the Idea, good luck!

  • Very interesting concept. I like these new concept engines. I am sick of Reciprocating engines. suprisingly enough, mazda is the only company that produces a fully functional concept car with the RX models using the rotary wankel engine.

Brillian idea though, looking forward to production :)

  • @Herrmanator8

Audi announced they may be using a rotary as range extender in the A1 which they say is going to production. It is so small it is under the luggage floor.

  • Mr. Nguyen seems to have avoided one of the shortfalls of the wankle , in that the power is being transfered only in the direction needed and not waisted in driving a "piston' into counter productive lopsided roll as wankel seems to have done. I wish him luck with the up hill climb to production. we need new ideas like this.

  • Thanks for your comment.

    MINH NGUYEN

  • @sandyt4343

He has a scavenging pump and the rotary engine. I would have thought that direct injection using the pre-mix Orbital injection system better. Lotus are using the Orbital system in their piston 2-stroke engine which also has variable displacement.

  • vey cool idea

  • So this is the engine that ricer with the mustang GT-R was talking about, from that other Youtube video!

  • Wow, very nice concepts. Keep up the good work!

  • Very nice. I wonder if there a problems with seals on the unusual surfaces. ?????

  • This is an interesting question.

However, we have one of some solutions for seals and combustion chambers similar to:

"Let' s wear the shoes by using the shoe-horn (shoe-lift) "

    Good luck

    MINH NGUYEN

  • sow us a working model. seen this project/principles many years ago.

  • wish i could think like MINH NGUYEN i love engines and how they work-constantly thinking about new ways to design new ones!!!

  • I' m glad to hear that. Thank you.

  • Looks like some serious thought has gone in to this! I think efficiecy will be the big challenge. In most engines the combustion chamber is usually also the intake/compression chamber. Otherwise there is alot of friction to overcome when there is a second chamber just for compression. Also, can the friction in the end rollers be reduced somehow? There is a lot of contact area here.

  • great design..

yet too many moving parts making it a little bit complicated and high maintenance compared to the existing mass produced wankel's rotary engine having 3 moving parts. (2 rotors and the eccentric shaft.)

    keep it up though.

i'm pretty sure you'll gonna end up improving it and making it way better.

    all the best of luck!!

  • Although I see no reciprocating parts, it still looks complicated. is there a running model?

  • its STROKE not STROCK! nice design

  • simply amazing. i hope to see it come about.

  • its good, but i think the compression ratio would have to be very small, because any detonation inside the engine would be disastrous...

thus leading to a low power/fuel effeciency.

  • Because of limitation of the comment, so I can not describe the figures and calculation here. However you can get the help from any mechanical engineer, who can explain clearly to you.

Note: The higher the thickness (B2) of MODULE II (Intake-Compress) than the thickness (B1) of MODULE I (Epand-Exhaust), the higher the compression ratio.

    MINH NGUYEN

  • your invention is already apply to Mazda RX8.......check out "how a rotary works".

  • this isnt like that rotary, not by a long shot

  • why dont you build it?

  • hombre esto es muy bueno espero que se te realisealgun dia quisiera inventar algo como eso cuales son tus estudios dimelo porfavor

  • you will not believe, but i was planing a motor like your motor, but whit the valve whells was in another position, i have made drawings for my friends, but when i see your movie, i sayd wow! That is the way.

  • I' m glad to hear that. Thank you.

  • The only real problems I can see with this design, are that the compression pipe is of a hideous design, and once you start putting any form of power into the combustion process, the one-way valve will simply be destroyed, or be so heavy, that it will not rev at any useful rpm. Inspired idea, but flawed in the combustion process. Plus sealing the rotors when they come into contact with the smaller rotors will be bloody difficult to do properly!

  • - About sealing of the rotors, when they come into contact with smaller gears which are enforced by the rolling made by compressed air ( it can be used from exhaust system) or electric motor as described in my previous clip.

    MINH NGUYEN

  • Thanks for your comments to my design. By the way, I also would like to say more about your concerns:

    - Design of the compression pipe which you saw is just one of some solutions, and it just describes the principle in a basically way, it's not a detailed description. And from 2001, with my first design there is no pipe ( that is my own design and I didn't refer to any ideas from someone else), the design looks like "pick rotary engine" (see my favorites please)

    MINH NGUYEN

  • Nice ideas Mr Nguyen, keep up the good work!!!!

  • Thank you.

  • Rotary engines are like gods of any motor

  • damn that is just a bit over complex for what it is doing, the wankel and quasiturbine engine do the job so much better, as there is no need for any spark plugs or even a centre shaft in the quasiturbine and it does not get less simple than that - google it!!

  • you should do that crap music louder....i know you like it

  • You can see my patented high power output rotary engine at:

    rotarypistonengine(dot)com

16" rotary engine 4800ft lb torque

    (8in crank x (1" x 4" inch piston)

    (1800psi x 32)/12=4800 ft lb torque at 2000 RPMs = (4800 x 2000)/5252= 1827.86 hp

    rotarypistonengine(dot)com

  • yea and maybe its not yours.

  • I am the sole designer of this invention

  • Document TRES intéressant. Un peu technique mais super.

  • Thanks for your comments, because the comment are just allowed in limit words. Please search the web sites about mechanism of diesel engine to understand more about your cocern.

Besides, you may refer to the web site to understand more about the similar situation.

    Scuderigroup,com

please don't hesitate to send your comments to me.

    Best wishes.

  • the reason i can see that it can't run on diesel is because the compression occurs in the intake lines, not in the combustion chamber. i honestly believe the compression system is a fundamental flaw that makes it unworkable. very creative though

  • interesting concept but i can see flaws. there is a lot of energy being wasted compressing the air in the intake lines, as the compression will drop proportionate to combustion chamber volume vs intake line volume. correct me if i'm wrong.

  • this is awsome . good luck . have you thought about including more than 2 chambers ?

  • good luck man id love to see another type on motor come out

  • wow!!! very confusing but i suppose thats what they first said about piston engines too.... good luck

  • quasiturbine engine looks to be more reliable. the engine in the video would probably not be able to handle the forces of diesel (photo-detonation).

  • Thanks for your attention and comment, but I don't think so, I believe that will be proved by practical experiments. However, I hope you can provide me more specific about the handling the forces of diesel you mentioned here.

    MINH NGUYEN

  • positive displacement machines does not have limits!!!

  • Interesting concept. I hope you get a working prototype together, looks like something with alot of potential. Good luck.

  • Thank you.

In fact, I have received letters of the leading auto group to suggest that I am "authorised by the owner thereof to submit the suggestions to" them. And my agreement is "valid for all companyes legally associated with" them.

Then, we can hope the leading auto groups will achieve the best prototype

    Note:

"authorised by ..." : Quotation from their letters

  • Whats the song called ?

  • It called "KEYS TO IMAGINATION" (YANNI)

  • Great idea!

What is the compression-pressure? Is it possible to incorporate elements of the Diesel-principal? (injection and slow combustion)

  • Yes, it is. It can be designed to use for some more of fuels.

  • There are some mechanical problems to resolve, such as Lube, Chamber sealing and cooling for moving parts,

    But it's Good Project.

  • I see that you mean.

Present here is only the basic design of the engine. However they can easy be improved (simple) by many solutions.

And I think engineers of the companies can easy design conformable to their engine system.

  • I've never heard of a 'split-cycle' engine until now.

Makes perfect sense. So many advantages.

Looks like the only possible flowby (at TDC I guess you'd call it) is where internal pressure is neutral anyway. Brilliant! Ever need an OpenGL programmer (amateur..ish), message me! :)

  • I' m glad to hear that.

    I' ll memorize your goodwill.

  • That is genius! So optimal.

1960255, this is your own design?

  • Yes I am.

I am the sole designer of this invention.

    Thank you !

  • Interesting, looks just like Canadian patent #1176990

Look it up for free by googling the Canadian patent office.

  • Thanks for the information about patent # 1176990, I was really surprised when I saw the patent provided by you. It's very interesting that there are some ideas look alike, because I had my idea in 2001 and finished my design, it was my independently thought and didn't refer to any ideas look like my idea.

    MINH NGUYEN

  • the only downside i could see of this engine is that it would sound as powerful

  • wow, this is genius. maybe mazda will use this in the future

  • Thank you !
