Anyone that played Gothic absolutely laughed at the so-called "Radiant AI" that Bethesda hyped for Oblivion! I am not sure even "Radiant Story" is going to match the Gothic games! :)

Hi Cauchemar89, pls dont take this as an offence. But i need to say a few things about gohic 1. First of all. It surely had its strengths. But i would not consider it as a good or even very good game. The game is terrible easy, if you are not entirely new with Computer-Games. This damn game had me collect so many items to sell them (no weight, endless inventory), and get really big amounts of money.. just to end up with nopossible thing to spend it at... The controlls really sucked.
The controls there made that strange way ( whole Inventory and taking objects and fighting thing and so on) just so way could easily make a playstation or whatever version of the game. The music gets pretty boring soon. But i really have to say, that the english sync. of the game sounds alot (really ALOT!) better than the original german one does. The "german-main-character" was talking like
"oh wow, iam such an uber tough guy, even if i just arrived here and could be killed by anyone quickly, and i dont feel that i have to speak less wannabe cool and cocky." Perhaps that the main reason why i do not think that this game is a good at all. That totaly screwed it up for me. So i DON'T want you guys to be upset, its just what i think about this game. Cause i do not understand why some ppl like it that much. Btw: The ending and last boss wasnt that good and iam drunk right now. Bye :)

And you probably also heard, that the guy said, that gave you that punch right in your face at the beginning: "Willkommän im Laaaarghääär!" This and the poor beating-animation had me ended up laughing for more than 2 minutes after i saw it the first time. so yea...

Sure quite a lot of the game was unfinished, unbalanced or just plain easy exploitable. I mean the trading is pretty much the best example. Later on I didn't really trade anymore with people, I just knocked them unconscious and looted them without any great consequences. Also later on there's barely use for your skill points anymore, since you can already wield every weapon and
learned every skill you need. The game's not that easy as you say though... I got quite a bit at parts, especially at the beginning.
But the german voice acting is far better than the English one. The german voice actor of the hero does act like a schmuck, but that's what makes him actually so likable. The English one however... is just plain bad. I remember several times where I just burst out in laughter because the voicing was so godawful.
But well, in the end it's always a matter of opinion.
Gothic 1 is one of the best RPGs ever made. Before the witcher and Oblivion discovered NPCs with a normal day and night life Gothic had already done. No other game is as immersive as gothic. And we love it
@integralmatrix Morrowind and Gothic were released less than a year apart, so Elder Scrolls technically had a NPC day & night cycle around the same time. And the Witcher series didn't start until 2007, so it's kind of weird to mention it at all.
It looks like a really great rpg! The best part of it soo far is, you dont have too read because of the great voice acting :)! Can't wait too see you fight stuff. I quess thats on the next episode.
I'm not sure if it was just me, but did the volume of the whole thing seem a little quiet? I had to turn my speakers almost up to max to hear the dailouge. ):
Hm... it's not much louder than in the test video, but the thing that disturbs is this swoosh in the background. But I got that fixed in the third episode.

Having played polish version of Gothic I must say the english voiceacting really changes the atmosphere - for worse unfortunately. :/
