  • this can be a robin-hood or re riding hood cape!! c:

    I'm Using this for halloween!

  • YYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY I was like HEEEYYYY that's the girl from TB. SO GLAD you're back

  • thx for this easy but great tutorial! always thought it was much more complicated, but actually it is not :)

  • So happy I found u again

  • I want a sewing machine....

  • ohmygod i have to make one of these!! i might even make more than one :D its so simple, thanks for posting this!

  • Nuuuu, you ... you were gone!

And now I've found you again Q___Q this makes me so very happy!

  • sssooooo cute! thanks corrine!

  • Thanks! I'm making my own Steampunk prom dress; this'll be really helpful!

  • @OfTheTreeFolk :O that's going to be beautiful! i love steampunk, you should make a video showing it off:)

  • Thank you so much!!!! I have been trying to figure out gathering for an eternity. Every time I would gather, it just looked like a wrinkled mess.

p.s. Love the new channel! I have been watching since ThreadBanger. And I love the DIY culture. You guys basically taught me everything I know! Thank you!!!!

  • Sooo nice! I'm going to make this!!

  • This was one of the easiest things I've made. ^^ Thanks for the tutorial

The only problem I had was the waist band, that was rather difficult.

  • I made a bustle like this about a year ago from this same layout, & used fabric from a Xmas red brocade tablecloth I found on sale for $4 at Walmart. The fabric was pretty unravel-y, since I don't have pinking shears & I had to treat it w/ fabric glue, but for the CHEAP price I paid for the fabric, it came out really nicely. Left over sale curtains/table clothes, bed spreads, etc are always a great recycling source of fabric for things like this for the first try to practice for the real thing.

  • iv never done gathering like that :O i'll have to try!

  • u can do the gathers with a sewing machine, much more faster, u just have to put the lowest tenstion on the sewing maching sew n them pull the threats, done

  • i LOVE LOVE! that you did this one. This is how I made many of my belly dancing costumes :)

  • Wow, you're sewing machine must be made out of pure steel. Mine would die if I EVER tried to sew so many layers. It also doesn't understand the meaning of "slow". It likes to think that 0 to 900 in .05 seconds is the way to get everything done. XP

  • Say...I have a question...Do you know how to make a satin (or similar nice-to-the-touch fabric, satin happens to be my favorite) robe? I haven't the foggiest idea and I don't want to pay out the nose for one that may not last me that long... :/ I'm excited to see whatever you do next! :D

  • Try looking for kimono type patterns or costuming patterns online - those are easy to make (mostly out of rectangles), you can use it as a costume later if you make it out of cool fabric, and they're super comfy without looking frumpy.

  • The montage at the beginning was fun, but I would rather you have cut that time in half, and used more of it in showing how to make the bustle.

  • dear corinne, Please don't ever leave us again, it's really hard to do DIY w/o you... congrats on your new show. I've been a fan since TB, and learn lots from you and rob! thanks for the inspiration and hope to see more on your new vids! <3

  • Damn I didn't even know you had this channel. I was wondering where you vanished to and bumped into this vid which popped up in my suggestions. :-D YAY! Glad i found you again!

  • I'm sooooooo happy to see you crafting on youtube again, Corinne!

  • Thats such a cute idea! I don't know when to wear it but I will SURELY make one for future use.

  • CORINNE, PLEASE READ THIS!!!

I've watched Thredbanger all the time, adn got sad when you left D:

but the tutorial where you make a Bodice and Rob makes a pair of boxers..

    WHERE IS THE PATTERN!!!

I SO BADLY WANNA MAKE THAT BODICE, BUT CAN'T FIND THE PATTERN D:

  • You, are amazing. Nuff' said.

  • what type of scissors do you use to stop fraying? and were can you find them?

  • @RaeGunChancellor pinking shears. they look like the scrapbooking scissors, but pinking shears are thicker and heavier weight. you can get them at any craft store in the fabric section. i think walmart may have them as well

  • Hey can you upload how to make a corset, and the corset pattern?

  • Hey wait, I know that voice!!!! :D

  • To be honest, I would have to kick a puppy if I had to hand sew all of that together. >_>

  • thanks so very much for this!! i got my first "working" sewing machine yesterday ( i also have an old one bought at an auction, but i'm not sure how to use it ) i have two little super heros that fly around the house all. day. long. now they can both be adorned with fantastic capes and i can rock the best apron ever while choosing my next sewing project! thanks so much!! lovin' your channel!!

  • Awesome! This was JUST what I was looking for - you RULE!

Also, I was overjoyed to find your videos on here Corrine - I missed watching them! Welcome back!

  • awwwwwwwww i want to pat the cat can some one deliver it to me

  • Very cute and versatile piece. ♥ Looks easy enough for a novice like myself to attempt (probably NOT as easy as it looks, but I will give it a try with some muslin first). Thanks so much for sharing your technique. :-)

  • after you left threadnanger i felt so lost! i love diy. but threadbanger is only so-so helpful to me now. I can't tell you how freakin excited i got when i found your channel! already showed it to like 10 people who want to get into diy! Good luck on starting your own thing! keep making videos and i'll keep watching them <3

  • <3 this is fantastic, i've been looking for a good pattern i could make out of less fabric than a full on bustle and this one is gorgeous and versitile! <3 this is exactly what i want for my steampunk outfit! Thank you! <333

  • yeay!

  • how much fabric in total? 5 yards or more?

  • @LadyLBlack I hope you will do a great Black Butler cosplay!

  • im using this for my ceil phantomhive costume

  • AH HA! I found you again! This is where you moved to? how come I didn't know? :( I miss you guys! Glad to be watching you again!

  • Love it....you amaze me everytime! So glad you're back!

  • my mind was just blown

  • This is - first of all - a fantastic tut! I'm just getting into steam punk and was looking for a nice basic bustle pattern. Love it, and the versatility is appreciated! Second, I'm also suuuuuper excited to see videos from you again! I missed your awesome presence on the web; you always get my creativity churning! Thanks Corinne!

  • You dont look like what I expected, to be frank, you quite hot. =D

  • i totally just made this. and MAN was that a lot of fabric to sew through. (especially when adding the waistband!) my gathering wasnt quite as pretty... so i ended up just winging it and kind doing it like pleats. either way, it came out super cute and REALLY poofy!

  • Corinne, its sooooooo great to see you doing DIY again. I'm so glad you have your own channel, congrats! I miss Rob & Meg & quite honestly Threadbanger is poop without you guys. Keep the DIYs coming, you're truely an inspiration to all of us DIYers out there! I would love it if you could make a tutorial on the basics of using a serger. Or do you at least know where I can get some good info on using them? I bought one a year ago & have not idea how to adjust it so the stitching comes out right :(

  • I'm in DIY heaven, I didnt know you guys had a new channel. I'm so glad I found it.

  • YAY!!!!! its you!!! Finally!!!!!! i mised you videos so much

  • What do you recommend to someone whose a total beginner and doesn't even have a sewing machine? xD

  • do you fold it long ways like a hot dog or short ways like a hamburger??? lol

  • i;m trying to find a tutorial to show haw to make bustle skirt all the way around does anyone know a good tutorial?

  • Omg it's her!!!! :O

  • cuteness ^.^

  • Corinne, you are the only reason I watched thread-bangers at the first place! I wish you good luck with the new channel!!

  • I know this has nothing to do with crafting but I LOVE your hair in this video. You should do a tutorial on it!!!

  • i found you the last time i saw u was on thread banger and when u left i was look Nooooo! but i was reading some comments and they were about you and this channel :)

  • Still weeping like a grandma:D

Damn! So much positivity here!!!:) You might have actually saved me from a depression that's been fucking with me since september!

Ok...something weird just happenedO.O In my excitement i pressed something that made the text here really tiny:D What did I do?:D

I'm so happy i'm getting hyper!

  • I know this is a craft channel but I like your hair style in this vid very much( where youre standing in front of the mirror with the apron). Did you create this style on your own or do you know where there is a tutorial of the style.

  • OMG!!YOU ARE SO FRIKIN COOL!!! >:O

I NEED GO MAKE NOW!!! ^^ thankyooous!!!!

  • WELCOME BACK !!!!

  • u still use the same music xD

  • OH MY WORD! I'm so glad I found you. At first I thought it was the sleepy cold medicine that had me hallucinating but no, it's really you! YAY!

  • i missed you!!! so subbed just now!!!!!

  • My daughter and I loved TB and were sad to find Corinne and Rob gone... now all is right in the world again! YAY! I am thinking about doing a DIY channel as well, but I could never rock it like Corinne does... Thanks for all your inspiration and initiative Corinne!!!

  • i missed you! ha ah

  • crying tears of joy!

  • Corrine you continue to inspire me and I just wanted to say thank you! This past weekend I was watching your old crochet videos on threadbanger and I made the little hat/barret! It came out awesome. I can't wait to start making trying out your latest projects from Craftovision! Thanks for the ideas! :)

  • That was GREAT:)!

  • dear corinne,

i just want to thank you for your videos. They are so inspiring. The old Threadbanger-vids made me enjoy youtube - as I would never have expected to find something so oldschool diy on this platform. I got inspired to make something unique whenever I watched one of them.

so I'm so glad to see you back.

    thank you!

    bylla

  • @glitterandglueforyou I agree! C should interview herself yay! Lol or just do a member questions being answered! She's awsome! Ohhh and to answer your bobbing delima hun, your machine might be threaded wrong or the bobbing might not placed in correctly...also try the tension between 4 and 5 for a regular straight stich. Try those k hun:) if not you can pm me thru Craftovisions forum if u haven't joined yet:) oxoxo Tany! aka Gothictany!

  • @gothictany73 Tany, agreed & thank you for the help! BTW, I hope you feel better soon. Girl, when are you going to get your Etsy back up?

  • yeah for corinne!!!! finally...

  • I'm loving the new channel! Corinne, can you have Face Time with yourself? I would love to find out where you learned how to sew, how you got started with TB & where did you learn to edit videos? Also, on a side note, I have 2 beginner sewing questions 1) the thread from my bobbin always gets tangled & ends up winding itself around the bobbin casing, what the heck am I doning wrong 2) can you explain thread tension and how/when to adjust it. I can't find a good indepth explaination.

  • Yay, I'm so glad you're back!!! Diva, I missed you...Threadbangers is not the same without the old crew.

  • yeah you are back!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ROB if you see this, GET YOUR ASS ON HERE AND MAKE SOMETHING FOR THE GUYS!!! I'm subscribed to like 5 or 6 different sewing channels at the moment, including whitneysews, and they are all good but not much for guys.... Also Corrine why are you on here? Why don't you get back on threadbanger? secretlifeofabionerd is feeling under a lot of pressure trying to please everyone, and you did kinda dump a huge responsibility on her. HELP A SISTER OUT!

  • @aWierdo I'll definitely incorporate as much for guys as I can. :)

There are a lot of details that I really cannot and do not want to talk about but...

sorry, I didn't dump anything on anyone. I got laid-off and this is me starting my own thing.

    My Own Thing.

Just like KL has her own channel, I want my own channel.

I think KL is doing a great job and she doesn't have to be on ThreadBanger if she doesn't want to be.

    Thanks for the comment.

    xoxo c

  • @aWierdo They didn´t leave , they got fired so that "Huge responsability dumped on someone" is not their fault.

  • @mariaaa26 yeah i realise that now :/ so annoying how could they fire them? they pretty much were threadbanger :/

  • i thought you needed permission from the artists to be able to take photo or film of their star.

  • @alcoholicpuppy I've never heard of that being the case. ?

  • @alcoholicpuppy If that's the case then hundreds of millions of people would be saying "whoops!" right now, including me :P I think it's pretty unlikely though, that any open-air tourist attractions can only be photographed with permission.

  • tat was supposed to be "yay" -- I was that excited.

  • tat first comment!
