  • That aint seizure, hes sleeping walking

  • I had a 14-year-old German Spitz that had a stroke/seizure about 7-8 months ago. I took her to the vet immediately and had her put to sleep. I definitely lost it when I was in the room. Thank God my mom was there. After we put Ebony to sleep, I went back into the room by myself one more time for one last goodbye. She just lay there...not hurting anymore. They needed a pretty dog in heaven. :) I'm crying right now as I'm typing this up. Dogs really are man's best friend!

  • OH YEAH!! and people usually do lose control of their bladder during or after Grand Mal Seizures (tonic clonic seizures), idk if dogs are similar in any kind of way.

  • @lovebluescat I cried when I read your note about how he had to get put to sleep. My brother has seizures and he doesn't respond after he either stares or shakes. When you were calling his name, I don't think he was hearing you. I'm so sorry for your loss, I know I'd be depressed if my dog passed, and horrified if my brother passed. Power to you!

  • @GamerJelly you asshole he is ill, wish you just had that for one time -.-

  • This is exactly what my 2 year old border does. Its horrific to watch knowing I cant help him. Im facing having to make the decision to have him put to sleep his tablets just dont seem to be holding it.

  • Thats so sad , I dunno what i would do if my dog got ill :(

  • I wonder how I look when I have seizures...

  • I noticed in the video when he came round he seemed confused. U made the best dessision, sounds like he was coming to the end of his time with this terrible condition, sounds like it was clearly getting much worse & it was't ever going to get better. R I P U poor dog. I feel for U owners, I've worked in animal husbandry & looking to contnue this so it's likely I may come across this sort of thing in future MMMMM but I'm willing to face the challenge, it would be interesting though such a shame.

  • If you haven't already, take him to a vet. 4 seizures in a day indicate something serious is going on inside of him.

  • thank you for posting this because I had to put my bestfriend down the other day and I have been beside myself with guilt.. and sorrow.. i loved her like to other .. she went into a cluster seizure then into a status seizure.. and she was on PB for months.. but it was not working .. and witnessing what my son and I saw that day is haunting ,. I had to come here.. to find solitude.. that I was not going crazy.. or that my decision to have her put down while she was .. in a non stop seizure

  • @Morningwhispers I had almost the same scenario we had just put down my pup this last september, september 20th 4:40 am. She had a cluster of seizures starting at 12:30 am finally brought her in at 2:10 am because the seizures wouldn't stop. we stayed at the hospital for over 2 hours debating what to do. We put her down knowing we couldn't handle this if it happened again. Sometimes doing the hardest option is the only option. It would have been more than selfish for us to keep her alive.

  • treadmill ?

  • Same thing happened to my dog! She is 9- and she had her 1st seizure 2 nights ago. Took her to the vet, they did blood work and nothing was wrong. Took her home and same thing happened again. Called the vet, we are starting her on phenobarbital. Also I am switching her heart worm meds to Inceptor- it doesn't have ivomenctin. My dog is a blue heeled mix and I read that some herder dogs have this gene that reacts badly to some chemical in heartgard. Not taking any chances!!

  • Poor guy. My greyhound has the same exact type of seizures. She acts the same way once they are through. Just out of it and non responsive to your commands.

  • My Boxer went through the same thing. Starting 2 years ago, he would go into Grand mal seizures, maybe 1 or 2 every 3 months or so. One night he had 2 bad ones, an hour apart. Then, he would go through these instances where he would just go completely limp/ unconscious. He eventually fell asleep, but he was a completely different dog in the morning (lethargic, unaware of his surroundings/ people, loss of balance, and a complete loss of appetite.) Turned out to be a brian tumor, and cancer.

  • I hate people like you commanding everyone go fuk UR self is all u say 24/7 it's a poor dog your bitch

  • ever thought of checking your dog food brand?

  • poor baby. U did the right thing as others have said. He is obviously stressed out about the incident. If it were me.. I would want to hang up the towel.

  • thats so scary

  • too bad...he was a cute dog

  • Thank you for posting this. It must be hard to see it still. My pitbull just had a petit mal seizure and I was terrified.

  • i am really sorry about your dog..I have a red nose pitbull who began to have seizures as well. He hit his head really hard on a glass door thinking it was open a few weeks back. his first seizure was on the 5th of this month (december) since then he has had 4 seizures in total. 1 week apart but 2 just yesterday. we are now giving him phenobarbital an anticonvulsant to control them because they are truly hearbreaking to witness.

  • @neinaydance09 OMG my dog is 7 and just had his first seizure this week... he's had 4 since then. I just remember that about a year ago my dog did the same thing...ran into the closed glass door thinking it was open. I wonder if this is the cause!? That happened a year before this first seizure though. They put him on phenobarbital and it seems to be working so far. So hard to watch this happen to him. Poor guy :(

  • my dog does the same thing and runs while on its side its very sad and disturbing to watch but you get used to it after they have about fifty

  • I dont know if your still reading this, if so i just want you to know the same thing happened to us, our dog was medicated after christmas eve having cluster fits like this, im so so sorry this happened to you. i wish you all the love i can for being one of the few people who manage deal with this, its terrifying. We know, the dog feels no pain but its so scary 4 us becuse we love them. Ringo is still finding the right meds& is ok. Thankyou so much for sharing so we know we are not alone xxxx

  • We eventually had to put him asleep a couple of months ago. From 3 am. to 10 p.m. he had 13 seizures and suffered a stroke during this time. He started eating strange items, uncontrollable bowels, and running into walls, tripping over little things, and dragged his feet and could barely walk. It was a hard decision, but it was for the best. He wouldn't suffer anymore. He was on meds, but it just wasn't enough. They are very scary to witness. RIP Shooter.

  • @lovebluescat I am so sorry. I love dogs and really believe we will see them again and they will be waiting for us on the other side with a big wagging tail!!!

  • We adopted a dog about 8 months ago, heard that he has had seizures in the past but for 8 months he hasn't had one under our care. All of a sudden today he had one. Just flipped over and then started pooping and urinating all over, eyes rolled back, foaming at mouth, running in place with muscles spazing out. Then he snapped out of it after a couple minutes. then he was confused for awhile afterwards.

Then about 5 hours later another. not sure what to do, taking him to the vet now.

  • @lovebluescat the poor dog im so sorry

  • @lovebluescat lol u did the right ting =)

  • @lovebluescat i'm so sorry for your loss:(

  • @lovebluescat I am so sorry to read this. My GSD had the same problems and we too had to put him down. Falco was our pride and joy, we miss him so much. So sorry for your loss as well! RIP SHOOTER AND FALCO.

  • My dog just had his second GM seizure. We did not understand what happened the first time. When he came to after the seizure he was extremely afraid of us as if we had hurt him. He was very confused and could not understand any command I gave him. He could hardly walk. He tried to run through a glass door to get away from us.

I dont think there is any point in giving commands right after seizure as the dog is disoriented and confused maybe even scared.

  • Do you use pine sol to clean your floors, or other chemical cleaners?? If so stop! Use steam clean h2o only hope that helps!!

  • Myt dog also has seizures.. is he on any medication? Sometimes dogs can be gien emergency medication to stop them as well.. I hope things get better
