because that is very clearly a 1996-1997 prefix "P" registration (personal plates cannot suggest the car is newer than it is) This late 90s Classic Mini example would be able to display e.g. "BXN 924L" as a private registration but NOT on silver-on-black plates. So he'd be better off with e.g. "JNB 597M" on black-on-yellow!
As far as the purpose of the video goes though, I've gotta say that exhaust is one of the best I've heard :-)
I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree
not to do with the exhuast, but did you have a regular numberplate and put the black one on after, is it legal to do it if there are normal white and yellow plates on originally, i got an R reg cooper and the black and silver plates look well better, where did you get them aswell, cheerrs
That sounds awsum fella, that a cooper s yeah? so thats the 1275 and an lcb straight through? Hopefully mine will sound nice when i get a nice new fletcher on it :)
taking the cat off can work and give small power gains .....but only if the engine is tuned for it ...if the exhaust system is straight through it can lead to a loss of back p reassure making the engine seem flat and loosing some torque, taking the cat off does give a very nice rauty exhaust note combined with a decent system though ;)
ye buy a cat replacement link pipe and just swop it back 4 the mot thats wot im guna do, duz any 1 no wefa it benefits takin the cat off? sum people rekon it dnt
I got my mini chipped at my local Icon Superchip dealer, and cost me £300, it wont make alot of difference unless the engine has had decent headwork for example ..stage3, cam and along with decent exhaust/inlet manifold/K+N Cone Filter etc
The main plus side of the chip is that it helps the car run smoother, as the ecu still thinks its getting standard air/fuel when its getting quite alot more.
The twinpoint A Series were an awful mismatch of electronics and old technology, They dont respond well to high levels of tuning unless the injection system/ecu is changed, Standard my coopersport would just touch 89mph, and dynoed at 56bhp, after blueprinting the block, headwork and cam, along 1.7:1 roller rockers and superchip ...i got 115 bhp out of the 1275 motor and 120mph, Best thing to do is save buy a mini with carbs ;) spend less money ...get similar rewards
hippy, where and how much, if you dont mind me asking did you get your coopersport superchiped? because i have been considering it for a while but never researched it and if it makes that much difference it sounds worth it.
Hi. Dunno really, haven't really noticed what its like. it sounds alot different on the inside because of the intake noise aswel. But when im in a high gear at low revs its got a deep note like a v8 lol. ye its a 3"inch exit, its a play mini exhaust.
Weird!!...some people i have spoke to said when rover re-made them, they made inconsistent engines and some were more powerful than others, so i guess i mite have a good one. it says the top speed is meant to be 91mph but ive had mine to 110mph easily!.
the speedo is so out it's not funny!!!!! use gps based speedo a mate got his S reg mini seven off the speedo and round to MPH in midle of clock..... that was with a mini sport stage $ head etc on his MPI diff
Ye its from Midlands wheels. Its a playmini system, i got it from there cus it was cheaper than goin to playmini direct. Its a centre exit 3" pipe, with the cat taken out and a striaght through pipe to the manifold. hope that helps

@RWL2011 How do you know this isn't a personal plate, and the car is pre 1973 ;)

do you have trouble getting over speed bumps? Because I really want the twin DTMs but i'm not sure about the ground clearance.. :/
mjb32 2 years ago
Its ok over most speed bumps but the down pipe at the front where the flexy section is tends to catch on some!.
jonus1 2 years ago
@mjb32 I had a fletcher twin DTM a while back, sounded like amplified thunder :) but ground clearence was pretty poor :/ hope this helps...

colemclean 2 years ago

KAULAMANS 3 years ago
I got the back box from midlands wheels. huddlesfield spares sell them aswel for about £100 i think, then its just getting a LCB manifold and no cat.
jonus1 3 years ago
Ooh, that sounds good. Much better than any Honda VTEC. Gawd, I wish I could have a Mini, if only I had the money to import one..
