You won't reconise Les as it's Syd who is singing. With Phil on the drums and Mark on bass and Chris on the keyboard. Still rocking with the memory of Les, They all played with Les at some time.
According to the date this was 1997 yet the one at the side "Les Gray's Mud @ Bergen-op-Zoom 2001" is, well 2001 yet he looks miles healthier in 2001?? Just asking as the man is a legend
Too be fair i didnt know he performed at all.How i admire the guy for carrying on for his loyal fans. What a great man.Anyone know if this is there last performance? Thanks for the upload.
I grew up listening to MUD in the 70s,they may seem naff now but at the time they were brilliant ,as long as theres a christmas you will never be lonely with les grey and their christmas hit,
les is still the king, I met him years ago, he even got me up for tiger feet on stage. it doesnt mean we dont love him any less because of how he looks now in this video, nobody today has les grays class, nobody.
I wish i had the courage of Les, i met some brave men in my time but he is the bravest. He thought of his fans never mind what he was going through. His family must be so proud of him. God bless Les and not forgetting Dave
This is definitely the original song..so i guess he must be miming..but so what. He was dying from throat cancer and watching this makes me very sad as you can see how ill he looks. Very sad. Les was a wonderful performer.
the beatles and the stones were great rock bands ,,,but if u grew up in the 70`s we had the greatest time of all glam ruled ,,mud t-rex the sweet slade ,plus many more ..they were never gonna be ,pink flloyd ,led zeplin or the who ,,but they were ours ,,u go to any party and they put this on the floor fills in seconds because its the best music ever ,,
@xcraig1961 You people read this & know this is the definitive time in music for fun energy & superb showmanship the bands of today are so up there own backsides they wouldnt know what to do if the public demanded a show at a consert. By the way.... Les... hope to see you again ..one day.
@xcraig1961 you re right , but i was born in 1954 , so i listen to the late Beatles , the who at their best ( woodstock )
, but wheb i was old enough to go to dance cafees , sweet hit the charts with co co , i follow sweet , than sweet made a big mistake , they refused dynamite and that was the start for Mud , Mud climbed to nr 1 with Tigerfeet and sweet with teenage rampage stranded at nr 2 , but be honest Sweet had 5 hits in te states , little wiily nr 3 over there and mud and slade don t
@xcraig1961 Hi Mate, Thank god they weren't Led, Pink etc... They had their fans and Glam had us. Progressive music was something I hated but that's just me, millions liked it which I respect. I'll stick with Feeling the Noize as opposed to walking up those stairs to Heaven. :-)
les was one chemo short of an oncore there ! My Xmas Day was never the same without Mud and Shawaddywaddy on the TV... lets hope BBC put them on again this year !!
Les wouldn't have mimed the original. I think the poster has overdubbed the sound onto his film as the original was probably poor. Still interesting though
What a performer! Doing right to the end and still sounding like he did in the old days.A few of the "super groups" could learn something from this.God bless you Les.
He may look like death warmed up, but what courage to still go and entertain people! I always imagine myself wanting to curl up and die if I got terminally ill. Great band, with a lot of humour. Lovely songs to the ear, and that's what counts. But I like all sorts of music. The gay one wasn't even gay. It was part of the act. I remember the excitement as teenagers, when their records came on. We all got up to the dance floor.
Yeah, das war noch Musik, ich war da gerade mal 8 Jahre alt und es hat mir damals schon super gefallen und es ist heute noch schön diese Gruppe zu hören!
i never knew les and dave had gone till i read some of these comments, thanksfor telling us.i remmber when i worked in a night club and les sung loney this christmas to me on his knee.very sadly missed.a good group from my teens.
They were actually miming this song to the original 1974 recording. But it's still a classic song, and I'm sad that Les and Dave from the original MUD have now passed away.

No. If they did that, it wouldn't have matched so perfectly. But so what if he's lip-syncing, that's show biz.

I'm telling you that's the original sound from the record:-)

Ray Stiles plays in the Hollies & ain't dead,It was Dave Mount the drummer who died towards the end of 2006,I didn't know it was suicide though?
Rob Davis the original guitarist is a successful record producer & songwriter,He wrote Kylie's "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" which was a big hit!
