Aluminium was first called "Aluminum" when it was credited to have been isolated officially.

The revised name was adopted all over the world at the time to conform to the "ium" convention of elements but the American Chemical Society did not take to it officially till 1925. The world has been calling it "ium" for 200 years but the US still uses the old name.

So, its not an accent thing, its actually a case of two different words being said.

Our office in the UK is not for retail and does not have a website, they are purely for handling wholesale for European distribution.
