Bob Barr on CNN's American Morning

Bob Barr couldn't even be bothered to show up at Ron Paul's conference a few days ago when he invited all of the third party candidates. Even the Green Party's candidate showed up. But not Barr. The Libertarian Party really messed by big time by picking the guy who for his entire political career was a conservative and only became a libertarian AFTER he lost re-election running as a Republican.

I read on his website that if he's elected he wants to end all foreign ownership of any property in the US. That seems pretty anti-free market to me. So even he's not all that great. Just seems like the lesser of all the evils that are running this election.

Well I am going to vote for Bob Barr but that is because I have to look at myself in the mirror each day to shave. And holding my nose and voting for McCain because he is the lesser of two evils is not for me. I have to step up and criticize Barr here.

I find disturbing his contention that the money being spent in Iraq could otherwise be spent in America. Knowing how we are financing this war through debilitating debt that will bankrupt our nation if current trends are not reversed, is is misleading to tell America that we could be spending that money here at home. That is borrowed money we shouldn't even be spending in the first place!

Bob Barr didn't say he would "spend" the money. He said, regarding the money being spent in Iraq, that money could go back to the American people.

That would imply either that the money wouldn't be spent or raised through taxation OR since debt is a burden that must be paid down the road through either taxation or inflation, that the American people would avoid the debt and, therefore, the subsequent direct or inflation tax.

Typical that the Republicans and Democrats missed the deadline to have their candidates on the ballot in Texas but three days later, we happen to hear that "upon further checking" (words from the Texas Sec. of State) both parties filed on time.

Legally, Bob Barr should be the only pres. candidate on the ballot in Texas. But, no. Republicans and Democrats have the ability to bend and stretch whatever laws they like. And we let them get away with it. It's absurd.

I would love the people my age to get off the ground, and back home to smoke some buds. These brave hero's should be "allowed" by their majesty, the federal government, to relax, and smoke to marijuana, or intake other age 20-30 medication, to help deal with the many of the imagined alerts, friends/amigo's deaths/injury, pain signals, head damage, structure damage, and almost unlimited psyiological impacts that are experienced. I have been there, and I wish them this ability.

The current "two party system" doesn't want the Libertarian Party to get much coverage. They are afraid of the Libertarian message of freedom, liberty, and personal responsibility.

Think about some of the people you know. Freedom and personal responsibility are not meant for everyone. Many people simply can't handle being free. They need to have someone telling them what they can/can't do.

Meanwhile, the rest of us suffer under their oppressive government.

Really there story seems so convincing

Samll government by cutting spending, and then lowering taxes. Freeing the market from red tape that kills small businesses everywhere. Its like a dream but no one lets us see it except these small glimpses we get from cnn or colbert. Like someone is stopping it?

Bob barr almost always makes sense, I have never understood why there are not more public libertarians.
