The best way to appreciate this excellent song is to see Emilio Pericoli performing it in the 1962 movie "Rome Adventure." The way it's performed, the way the scene is set up, and the way one young lover explains the meaning to another add quite a lot - and so does the light in the eyes and face of Pericoli as he concludes.

this is not the original..the original was recorded in 1961 by Luciano Tajoli..see my posting on this site...Pericoli recorded it for the film in 1962 .a year later ..Pericoli does not go anywhere near Tajoli's rendition..which is stupefying...

Thanks for the early history of this beautiful song, BoratBrother. I was unaware. I did check out Luciano Tajolis version (thanks for posting) and it was certainly impressive. Stirring and very Italian. For my taste, a bit too mezzo (as the young people say these days, hahaha) but equally beautiful. Emilios is more intimate, more right for the movie, a love story.
