I don't understand why people in this country have a nostalgia for "the principles of Lincoln" or "the principles of our founding fathers". Since when has this country and its politicians or citizenry ever acted according to, or with respect to, any principles? I mean, Lincoln himself signed the emancipation proclamation.... but he didn't free the slaves in the border states. After the civil war, blacks went back to being lynched and spit upon in the south.....

CNN really screwed up on this one. I wrote them a e-mail to let them know that they would not be able to play the partisan card anymore on the Tea Party issue. I got a reply that since I was not an American it was no concern of mine. While i am not an American citizen, I disagree. It concerns everyone in the world.
