  • I thought the Ac booster was a little smoother sounding. They both sounded great though, just personal preference.

  • I just bought an AC booster and I played it through my Fender Super and it doesn't sound like the tones you got from your pedal. Maybe because it didn't leave the bass and treble settings flat and I boosted the level a bit. I think the EQ settings allow this pedal to be a bit more useful. I also bought the RC pedal. Great pedals.

  • To me, I don't consider the AC Booster a medium gain pedal. I thought the AC stood for "almost clean," making it more of a low-to-medium gain pedal. Regardless, these two pedals are great pedals!

  • Thank you guys again for these videos. There is so much to learn about the hardware, and your vids are great for instruction! The musical selections highlight the tonal differences, you make A/B comparing seem like it takes two minutes and a mic, and the coloration walks out and smacks you in the face... which of course really means these are unusually good vids. Which is where I started, so thanks again, and looking forward to more!

  • I thought the AC had more clarity and cut through better. both were very close imo

  • Can you do a comparison video between the Jetter Gain Stage Purple and the Lovepedal Purple Plexi, please???

  • i like the jetter it souds a little tighter nad the notes of open chords dont bleed together. it soundsa bit more vintage

  • I think the AC was better with the Les Paul whereas the Gold was perfect for the tele!

  • I likeed to have both.

  • Definetly the AC wins, since its more of a creamier OD, meanwhile the Jetter has only more gain and more upper frecuencies response. But is just matter of tastes. I have the BB preamp and the RC booster and I couldn't be happier with these beauties. They really sound fantastic.

  • cool. i liked the Gold better. I didn't expect that.

  • The Jetter sounds a lot smoother than the AC

    jetter vs AC 1-0

  • I had the AC booster...I didn't like it in my rig, plus it sounds just like my amp cranked, so I didn't need it that much. It's a good pedal I liked the treb and bass eq though...it was a good way to fatten up the strat.

  • That guy has such a voice for this type of thing

  • Anyone else think the Jetter sounds thinner??

  • maybe slightly ... i wud probably just go by cost though if it came to me choosing ..

  • They are both great... the Jetter is just more complex and interesting. I never thought i would like a Jetter product more than a comparable XOTIC. I have to go check this for myself.

  • Jetter

  • I think the AC wins this one!

  • well I have an AC Booster and....I mistook !

    With the laptop's speaker...

  • what is the song at the start?( 0:04 - 0:10) It's very familiar?

  • 0:46 music ?

  • @bart0s91 "I can't stand it" by Eric Clapton

  • WooHoo! I knew contender A had to be the Jetter. But, then again, I kind of cheated, because I watched the older PGS demos of the 2 pedals before I guessed which was which. :P

    Excellent musicianship as always, Andy.

  • the jetter has a little more bass which sounds excellent imo.

  • awesome you used a tele for the later half... i use a tele too so its a better basis for me to observe on.

you were on the bridge pickup, yes?

  • both great pedals but i prefer the ac booster. im also thrilled that the guy doing the demo is actually a good guitar player. usually guitarists ding pedal or amp demos suck.

  • AC!!

  • The Jetter totally has a more pleasing tone to the ear, but I'm not too sure how it would be in a band mix. The AC Booster sounds like it would cut a little nicer.

  • Yeah once again the pedals seem odd to me, on the Strat the Jetter seemed much more muddier sounding than the AC meanwhile on the Tele its the otherway around. Great pedals but yeah.

  • Jetter has more mids but i sorta like that

  • This new Who's Who series is sick

  • whats the last song andy plays?

  • I like the AC boost, less nasal.

  • lovin' the smackdowns

  • AC Booster!

  • jetter

  • I could listen to Andy all day. A beautiful tone.

  • Seriously!

  • nice demo, pgs smackdown are great

and whats the chord he's doing at 1:49 ?

  • Looks and sounds to me like a G5/F or a three note chord (low to high): F-D-G that moves to a G5: G-D-G.

  • Double Drop D tuning (both E strings tuned down to D) and starting from the 6th string frets 3, 3 ,3, 5, 5, 3. Hope that helps:) It's an Fmaj7.

  • Actually, now that I hear the last chord he plays, it's just Drop D (low E tuned to D) and omit the 1st string from the chord. Oops:)

  • both pedals are great, but it depends on what i want to play. one pedal sounds good for certain stuff, the other sounds good for certain stuff.

i might have to get both

  • jetter

  • I was right again oh yea!! Both pedals are good but i like the jetter a little bit more :D :D

  • definately the jetter gold for me

  • Im for the AC booster over the Jet

  • Yeah! In the shootout, the open position A chord with the Strat actually sounded amazingly like the intro chord in Won't Get Fooled Again with the Jetter. Definitely thinking the Jetter Jetdrive will be my next pedal.

  • andy is a bamf

  • I personally like the way the Xotic ac booster sounds.

  • same here

  • Cool.

  • I personally love the Jetter. Soo smooth sounding. Need $210 now!
