  • thnk u for the vid....tried it last night and it was brilliant

  • Looks very tasty! Thanks for sharing.

  • omg fave food please cook me some! :D im going to try this and fail miserably

  • Well, love the way the pocket is made for the garlic butter, different to what my AWW cook books shows, so off to try now!

  • oh my these look heavenly!! thanks for this recipe, i'll be sure to try it!! i love your accent by the way :)

  • The only thing i would of eaten in from this vid is the womens pooooooosay!!

  • I watched a program on about mechanical meet, and chicken kiev's are one of them, I wont tell you about what going in to them, the one's you buy from the supermarket. But anyway I made home made chicken kiev's yeterday for my and my fiancee's parents for tea, and I had you on the laptop guiding me on how to make them and we all loved them :-)

  • @cwmderw

Thank you - that's why I started to make them - put me off the supermarket ones too! And they are not so difficult to make are they?

  • @cwmderw mech meat is chicken meat removed from bone by a robot instead of a human

  • looks nice making this tommorrow

  • Very Nice!!! Very close dish of the traditional dish from Ukraine. The only 2 things I'd suggest is to ground the chicken breast instead of using it as a whole and frying it instead of baking it ... other than that, looks very nice and tasty and sure looks better than other posts of this dish on youtube.

  • My mother is from Russia and she makes kiev chicken usually fried, not baked on an oven , i suppose it will work and that way, I will try it soon.

An other version is to make kiev chicken cutlets.

  • @UnagiGiannis Chicken kieves are french, not Russian look it up.

  • @vonkeonig Chicken Kiev is ukrainian! You're always welcome to visit Kiev and taste original delicious Chicken Kiev!

  • @vonkeonig Look at the word you idiot: Chicken KIEV. KIEV as in the capital of UKRAINE.

  • @ShitMyCatsOnFire whatscookingamerica (dot) net/History/PoultryDishes.htm

Replace the (dot) with a period. Read the first paragraph. I know Kiev is the capital of Ukraine, however in this case as you can see the origin of this dish is indeed French!

  • @ShitMyCatsOnFire In fact ill quote it for you form the Kiev section of that link....

"This famous method of preparing chicken or pheasant is not of Russian origin as the name Kiev would imply. It was invented by the Frenchman, Nicolas (Francois) Appert (1749-1841)"

  • @ShitMyCatsOnFire Next time please do not call a person an idiot unless you are absolutely sure, after all you do not know me in the slightest as a person.

  • GREAT VID just going to have a try.....

  • huuuummmmmmm i see that in my office job, now i 'm hungry thank you

i try this recipe as soon miam °)

  • @Blinkyman1

It was invented in the USA but not by an American. It is actually a French Dish!

  • Looks absoloutrly georgous, i wouldn't mind making that myself! Welldone!

  • @GenevaSwiss Whats the point in making cruel comments like that! she has done nothing to you! I sugest you shut the fuck up and keep your evil comments to yourself!

  • @GenevaSwiss Is something wrong with you? Why you gotta hate on people? Seeing comments like yours make me want to cut you open, stuff you with some garlic-parsley butter and fry you in oil till you get some manners. Do us all a favor and stay off youtube. You are foul!

  • brilliant lesley thanks

  • @Jetstarboy did lesely washed her hand before she touched the chicken? lol

  • fantastic madam

  • very clear, thank you

  • Great, I love chicken kiev, Though never thought to eat it with rice (always potato of some type) , but I'll give it a go.

  • SAM! once again it's 42 days till we cook our own chicken kiev!!! LESLEY YOUR AMAZING!!!! xxxxx

  • Such a simple menu, I tend to fry the fillets in a pan, 2 or three minutes a side then transfer to a hot metal baking dish this makes the breadcrumbs really crispy.

I didnt know about removing the garling stems! I'll try that next time.

Once youve made your own 'proper' Kievs you'll never entertain those rubbish ready mades again! :-) I like them with baby new potatoes and lightly steamed mange toute or green beans or even fresh in-season asparagus! Yum Yum

  • thanks! really helped! :D

  • (Continued)

The enzymes in the chicken will heal the hole that you have cut! Therefore sealing it. The contents in the pouch will remain in the pouch until the kiev is cut open on the plate. Regards Geof

  • Well done for posting Leslie, I notice that you said, when you turned your chicken breasts over, that you must be careful not to slice through the breast, if you do the butter would leak out. Well looks like your butter leaked out!

Have you tried cutting a pouch into the top side of the breast, with a very sharp narrow blade knife, keep the entry hole into pouch as small as possible, clean around the edges of the hole, no need for toothpicks.

    (To be continued)

  • Thanks for posting this much easier than pounding the chicken , we changed the inside ingredients to red peppers , green onions and garlic and butter..was so yummy!

  • Thank Ma'am for the recipe, Looks delicious! I always wanted to make chicken Kiev at home after I had it in a Ukranian restaurent in New York City....Thanks again

  • @TarikInDenver

Even though Chicken Kiev is not an Ukrainan dish (invented in USA)!

  • thx for posting. very helpful.
