DAMN!! Nice sound!! Bassy! Is that the stock Z-7U camera's shorgun mic? It can't be. I have a Z-7u but I didn't understand the manual how to do that slow motion. Can you teach me a little? Thanks.
hey...thanks for getting back to me...i wasnt aware that it did off speed..im impressed. Is the setting to change it called capture time?? and when you say it goes slowmo for 12 sec you dont mean duration but rather its like a frame rate??
Im about to shoot a music video on one so any help on this matter is greatly appreciated
You were sort of right the first time. The HVR-Z7 DOES go slowmo. Definitely shot on my Z7, definitely not slowed down in post. Have a read around or watch others' related videos. It's no Varicam, granted, but it does go slowmo for up to 12secs capture time. There is a cache in the camera for capturing at high frame rate. One sets the VTR button to start or end trigger, and the footage is then copied to tape at a quarter of original speed ie. playback up to 48secs.
Can you post a video from your Z-7 LCD's menu's settings on how you did it so we all get it? I apprectate in abvance.

how come only 12 seconds?

Hey Jym,
12 second framerate?! No, I didn't mean that. I don't even know what that means!
It captures footage in slow motion for a duration of 12 seconds realtime, which then plays back at a duration of 48 seconds.
Menu -> Camera -> Smooth Slow Rec.
Have a play around before the day of the shoot though...

recorded at 576 (PAL SD)
I have no idea what YouTube does to it after submission, though.

We just hired a Z7, I wish I knew it had this feature, would have been useful. Sent it back now :-(

Really smooth slow-mo. Would like to see it from waterline level looking front to back across the surface.
