  • NO ONE KNOWS HOW TO GET IN THE PALACE OF FOUR SWORDS

only some stuppido's whose walking trough walls and saying there pro couse there not ...

DAMN im a noob huh O_O

  • i prefer the SNES version, GBA is overly bright, less colour saturation and grainy sound. disclaimer - own and played both versions.

  • i would give this game a 1000 this is the best game i have ever played!!!!!!!!!

  • I always loved the blue outfit the best.

  • That's not the original LoZ:Link to the Past, It's Wii's Virtual ware, which defeats the purpose of the SNES showing. Get a better SNES >:(

  • @HeroChao132

You've got no evidence that it's the Virtual Console version.

  • @Greenalink 1.) The Trees at 1:36.

    2.) Darker screen, Improving Quality.

  • @HeroChao132

    1) The Trees at 1:36 are normal because I performed the Death Mountain Descent trick.

    2) You can adjust brightness easily on the video itself (or even on the PC monitor). This video was produced with an SNES9x emulator, not Virtual Console.

  • @Greenalink Pfft. Fine.

  • @HeroChao132 you can CLEARLY see the boot text from snes9x at 0:05 in the video.

  • Was the hurricane spin in the SNES version?

  • I'd rather get it for the VC.I have a DS Lite, but the sound Link makes when he wields his sword might as well be annoying to anyone.

  • for all the changes they made, I heard when you die, if you have a fairy in a bottle, and it brings you back to life, you don't have another death added to your total like you do in the SNES/VC version.

  • Like Likes are in Spirit Tracks, too!

    Add that!

  • @batursi: he made the video in 2007.. spirit tracks hasnt even camed out lol

  • Yeah, but he could edit the annotaions!

  • @batursi: HAHA true :P

  • The GBA version is better. The music and sounds effects I mean. The graphics are the exact same...So, can this be called a remake?

  • I like the Dark World music better in the GBA version. The Light World music is better in the SNES version.

  • I think that I discovered a new glitch for Zelda 3, but can you tell me if it has not been discovered?

  • In my book the SNES version wins (Mostly due to the sound quality), I do like the GBA one for things like breaking pots with your sword and a few other things of that nature.

  • So the golden level 1 shield is not possible to get unless you use hacks like Gameshark, or something?

  • 1:28

    1. They also added the markings in the "Z" in "Zelda" on the title screen. In the SNES version, it was only on the boxart, not the in-game title.

    2. The theme for ALttP is delayed until the sword drops instead of playing when the title appears over the Triforce.

  • so apparently in the GBA version Like Likes can eat a Mirror Shield? That's NEVER happened before...

  • SNES's title screen is more epic, but I LOVE the Choose A Game Screen in the GBA version.

  • haha emulators = fail

  • @CMOODO So is using Windows Movie Maker ;)

Fortunately I rarely use emulators unless it's a TAS run and I use AVISynth and/or Adobe Premiere Pro 7 for editing.

  • @Greenalink

Do you own the actual game? you could have atleast cut out the emulator sort of thing at the start :P

  • @Greenalink

Haha you could have atleast cut out that part :p or just pasted black over it

what do you use to record, i sort of want to make some videos

  • @CMOODO

From the emualtor sources it was SNES9X and Visualboy advance. I got them from the TASvideos website forums because it was designed to make TAS runs (and publish/encode good movies)

Since I can consoles properly now, I mostly use a DVD recorder, it just makes the video much more legit.

  • @Greenalink

Since I can record consoles properly now*

  • Red Boomerang can destroy the signs as well.

  • is the vc port an exact port with no changes from the original snes version. so basically its the exact same game

  • The Saving in... tests should have the same spots that they were tested at!

  • When the 'Zelda Link to the Past' changes from SNES to GBA. There are many glitches you can do, but, I can too!.

  • How did you get the level 1 Golden Mirror Shield on 3:00?

  • The video description gives you the answer.

  • Sorry if you covered it and I missed it, but in the GBA version you can't swing your sword in the doorways in dungeons - you have to step out into the level before you can attack. I dunno it makes a difference to me when you have a couple mummies or something standing right at the doorway :>

  • GBA opening:

i think the triforce is taller

  • I'm sad. I have LttP on VC. But it's coming in the mail on Monday. Must... resist... spoilers... GAH!

  • i have beat the gba one

  • neat, you can buy a mirror shield at near the beginning of the game?

  • No, you need to get the Mirror Shield from Turtle Rock dungeon first. Then if ever lose your shield from a Like Like then you can get it back by buying it at the Shield Shop.

  • oh

    *smacks self*

  • I remember losing my Mirror shield to a Like-Like. I was like, "NUUEEEZZ! MY SHIELD!! DAMN YOU ANUSES FROM HELL!!"

So I went for the longest time without it. I even beat the game without it. Hell, I beat the Four Shadow Links without it. Then, as I was adventuring around like a dork one day, I came upon that shop.

I just fell silent and beat the crap out of my pillow and screamed "WHY?!?!"

But now all is good. :D

  • haha this cracked me up......i did the same thing

  • @CluelessUk3 Is your pillow ok?

  • i dont get it................ whos jordan?

  • err it's me.

  • I kinda want to buy the old one for virtual console now, even though I have played both. The SNES version just looks so much better in comparison.

  • I mean the pickitts not the like likes

  • aren't they somewhere else too like outside the ice place

  • Like Like monsters are NOT GBA version exclusive since they still exist on the SNES version.

Yes I had the Blue/Red shield eaten by them on the SNES version as well.

  • No those ones are different..

They are called Pickitts, they cannot eat the Mirror shiled that the Like Like can do.

  • Like like's didn't come on the SNES version.

  • the things i think he was talking about were the purple pumpkin esque things that hopped around and had a tounge, they'd steal a couple of different items, but all you usually had to do was kill it to get your item(s?) back

  • Gah, what did they go off adding them in the GBA version for!? (I hate Like Likes)

  • the save and continue underground gllitch is fun... when u do it though and beat the game from it, u continue on top the pyramid as the bunny and with that electric gate thing from the upstairs castle door... its very weird but funny

  • I miss the SNES version :(

  • You don't GET THE MOON PEARL in turtle rock you get it in the third light world dungon.

  • I know... where/when does it say about the moon is in turtle rock?

  • Actually there was a like like in this game, but it wan't the normal looking one. It had the tongue that reached out and took your sheild.

  • Those enemies are called Pickitts.

  • Oh,thanks for telling me.

  • lol my names jordan!!!

  • Tip change the annotations for the like likes for the oracle games to comfirmed i have both, they're in both. Annoying as always aswell (if they're not expected)

  • I don't remember if the Like Likes are inm the original ALTTP; if they aren't there how did you lose the shield?? If there are shield shops is cause you can lose your shield...

  • Like Likes in ALTTP are only on the GBA version.

There are other shield eater enemies notably outside Skull Woods in the Dark World. They can only eat the Fighter Shield or Fire Shield. You cannot lose the Mirror Shield from them.

  • What about script differences?

  • Partly mentioned in part 3

  • i preefer the snes version more care fore its music and sfx and the graphics look bollder but the gba one is also cool but you might as well get the minish cap bcuz i think its better than the gba version alttp FTW

  • Idk about oracle of ages, but Like Likes are definitely in seasons

  • i checked gamefaqs the ocarcles games have like likes oh yeah same as fsa theyhave rupee like likes there cooler anything like like i hate i like the deku ones and rupee

  • Added annotation's from Youtube's Annotation feature. I reccomend to pause some of the annotations to read the text fully.

Wii users are out of luck with this.

  • In your description... Like Likes aren't new enemies. They were in the original Legend of Zelda game. I enjoy these looks at the differences, but get your history right too ;)

  • How is the shield yellow at 2:58

  • It says it in the description.

This clip the LV1 Shield is yellow because of a GAMESHARK code to show you about the Like Likes eariler on.

  • I didn't know there were a gameshark

  • Best game ever.

  • how you save????????/ say plz

  • What about the new sword trik?

  • Yep that's true

Soon I might make Changes from NES(SNES) to GBA of Super Mario Bros 3. Sadly there is no faq site where I can make most of the videos of it. I only know a few mainly the last level. G2G to bed now night.

  • Well the SNES clip for the Shield shop was actually the Dark World Death Mountain before Moon Pearl theme and the GBA was the Normal Dark World theme.

  • Oh yes.

I like when nice subscribers (like you) tell me something what I've missed on the video.

  • Good find I might add that to the info thanks.

  • The changes made me mad- but since this was the game that defined my childhood, 'twas to be expected

  • hey how did you...

    how can u...

*sigh* how did u get that golden small shield?

  • i guess u didn't read the info.

  • Ya and in the SMB2 version of SuperMario advanced combined Smb1 and SMB2.

  • Man the GBA port of link to the past is a remake of the snes version because of the changes.

  • Most of the changes weren't fully notable like Super Mario Advance 2 version of Super Mario World enabled you to play as a completely different Luigi.

  • The flashing sword was changed in the GBA version 'cause of seizure causing reasons. :p

  • Good find, I'll add that to the info of this vid.

  • its an snes its prety old the second game console ever maybe you should get the gba version i know im not helping but just putting it up

  • can u help me with something my snes9x gamefiles wont save, the other day i was playing this game i pressed save on it and then i went to play the next day and the saved file wasnt there can u help?

  • i beat this game in gba it was really easy except the very last boss.

  • Hey so you know, you put "New enemy introduced" when talking about Like-Likes, they've been around since Ocarina of Time, 4 years before the GBA version of Link to the Past, they might even have been in Link's Awakening, 9 years before remade Link to the Past.

  • I know what you mean, I said that as when you compare the SNES and GBA versions, The Like-Likes only appeared in the GBA version. They also appeared in the very first Zelda Game, then absent on Zelda 2 and SNES Lttp until Links Awakening on GB.

  • the last part is like so stupid lol keep on playing save then quit again and again and again!

  • dude if i knew you weed be playing and gitchin ....... all night long

  • I Like The Music When You Enter The Fortune Teller's Place (Light World)

  • I distinctly remember seeing Like Likes in the Ice Lake region in the SNES version.

  • They're different ones. They open their mouths and their tounge like thing comes out and grabs your stuff.

  • wat dos snes stand for super nintendo something

  • yes.

SNES stands for Super Nintendo Entertainment System

  • Super Nintendo Entertainment System. It was an era when Videogame was a taboo word thanks to teh market implosion a few years previous.

  • how do u get a little gold shield?????

  • sry i didnt read the description first ignore the comment above

  • Bet it took you some time making these videos and I'm hoping to see a possible third version. If that's the case then I would like to see two things that's different in the SNES - GBA versions:

    1) If I'm not mistaken, the item screen looks different. The one thing I would like you to notice is how the Bottles changes on the item screen between the two versions.

    2) Finding the secret "Chris Houlihan room" is only possible on the SNES version. Can't you put that into your next video? :D

  • Yeah I will put the Chris Houlihan room on my next video. I know that there are some changes left which I haven't meantioned.

Expect the 3rd part hopefully around this month.

  • is it me or does the link on the SNES looks smaller than the one on GBA

  • Wait a sec, what's the fighter sword? Also, how at 4:33 did you get that message? And i'm glad i read along with the discription on the right becuase i was going to ask about that Gold Lv.1 shield of yours. >_<

    5 stars man :D

  • The fighter's sword is the very first sword.

  • Ok, thanks. Never knew that. Xp

  • You get these messages when you learn a new move from Link to the Past like the Sword beam and the Hurricane spin. When you learn them and save the game it pass it over to the 4 sword mulitplayer game.

  • Well i know that but, ou haven't even gotten the Master Sword so how could you have gotten the Sword Beam and Hurricane Spin? And who do you play Four Swords with to get those anyway? Like a friend or a relative?

  • Oh, Most of the clips on this had different progress.

The clip with GBA version saving in the Dark World had everything done even the riddle game quest for the Hurricane spin.

Four Swords Multiplayer requires at least another human player with:

    Link cable

Link to the Past GBA Game

Game Boy advance/ Gba SP not GBA Micro.

It can be a friend or a relative.

  • They had different progress, ok. That makes a WORLD of difference. So the game file you were on when it gave you all those messages, you had just recently completed the riddle quest?

    ...

    Continued...

  • ...Continued

I know to play Four Swords on the GBA requires another human player, but i was just asking out of curiosity, who, in your life, do you play it with?

I play Four Sword on the GBA with a school friend. We both play using a Link Cable and sometimes using a Wireless adapter. He plays on his Silver SP and i play on my sister's Red SP.

  • I've never played GBA 4 swords because none of my friends I knew had a GBA + Lttp. I've found a battery save file on the internet which had 4 swords 100% completed (which enabled me to do the riddle quest + get the hurricane spin attack.

  • Mmhhmmm. So have you ever played Four Swords on the Gameboy Advance itself? Not playing the Gameboy Advance version on an emulator. And sorry you have nobody to play Four Swords with. ='( I would play with you if we lived near, but i dought we do. XD

  • What the fuck? You can buy the Mirror Shield in GBA? I don't remember that... what DO you get at Pinnacle Rock?

  • You still need to get the Mirror Shield from Turtle Rock. You can only buy that Shield when you get attack by a Like Like and then fail to recover it.

  • o.o nowander i cannot use most of ur glitches..

  • im guessing link to the past your favorite game o.o
