I'm pretty sure I've seen the Capitals play every time they face the Pens or they're on Versus or NBC. Crosby's the better leader, and the more complete player. Ovechkin never backchecks or plays defense at all. I've never seen it. Any non-retarded hockey fan will tell you that Crosby would be the best centerpiece for their team. He has a cup to prove it, too.

If the Pens got the first pick in the '04 draft, they would've taken Ovechkin and the Caps would have Malkin. A year later, we would have taken Crosby. So we were one pick off from having that become a reality.

True, however Crosby and Ovechkin play pretty different styles. Its like comparing Lidstrom to Phaneuf, Crosbys defensive play mostly relys on solid positioning and a good stick while Ovechkin goes for the big flashy hits from time to time. In my opinion, I like Crosby more.

The Pens were LOSING due to all the grinders and back/forecheckers, yet Therrien used the trap(DUMBASS!!) since Bylsma moved to aggressive forechecking, defense is helping offensively, wingers are pinching in, and our grinders are making room for the elite players to get it done.

Ovechkin is a flashy energy player who is there to score goals. Crosby and Malkin are both playmakers, an entirely different style of play.

Malkin is a playmaker but undeniably his play style matches up with Ovie's better than Crosby who plays much more of a finesse game. Furthermore Malkin is far from the run of the mill playmaker, he has about 50 more shots than crosby and leads your team in shots, an odd stat for a playmaker.
Yes, Ovie is faster than Malkin, and has about 30 pounds on Malkin (even though Malkin is 1 inch taller, which i'd be willing to surrender). I dont see how that suggests that Malkin would be better?
Furthermore Crosby is listed as being heavier than Malkin, odd that it's easier to take the body on him.
You make a good point with the shot percentage. Only problem is that you cant be sure that Crosby or Malkin could even have the physical ability to create space and/or the release of Ovie to even get that many shots. Also in general Pitt shoots better than Wash, team total dif. is 2.5%, but the caps just put up more shots, it's the way the offense is built, so a heavy shooter fits better.
Dont always believe listed weight/height. They always said Gretzky was 6 foot, and truth to be. He's about 5'9". Also, think this. Jones-Drew, a RB in the NFL is 5'6" 208. Did you know he's the third strongest RB in THE NFL?
Malkin/Crosby don't need to do that in Pittsburgh. They have grinders like Kennedy, Talbot, etc. They do it for them. Malkin/Crosby make space via skill. I have nothing against Ovie, he's a fantastic player for the NHL today, but he does fit the Caps better.

The question is what fits best where, and in a place like DC, with our offense, Ovechkin does well. For an established hockey powerhouse like Pitt, Malkin fits great, however the language barrier would become an issue in Wash.

Yet another Ovy fanboy. Ovechkin just glides around when he doesn't have the puck. He only goes all out when the puck's on his stick, or he's charging someone. He is the most one sided player in the game, and he absolutely NEVER backchecks. So many idiots think Ovy is the best simply because they only see him when he has the puck. I'm pretty sure I've seen the Capitals play every time they face the Pens or they're on Versus or NBC. Crosby's the better leader, and the more complete player. Ovechkin never backchecks or plays defense at all. I've never seen it. Any non-retarded hockey fan will tell you that Crosby would be the best centerpiece for their team. He has a cup to prove it, too.

If the Pens got the first pick in the '04 draft, they would've taken Ovechkin and the Caps would have Malkin. A year later, we would have taken Crosby. So we were one pick off from having that become a reality.

True, however Crosby and Ovechkin play pretty different styles. Its like comparing Lidstrom to Phaneuf, Crosbys defensive play mostly relys on solid positioning and a good stick while Ovechkin goes for the big flashy hits from time to time. In my opinion, I like Crosby more.

Also remember this, Pens have depth at scoring with Kunitz Sykora and Guerin alone. Pens have a(I think 7?) 20+ goal scorers. They NEED Malkin/Crosby, where as Caps have the playmakers and need a game changer like Ovie. The Pens were LOSING due to all the grinders and back/forecheckers, yet Therrien used the trap(DUMBASS!!) since Bylsma moved to aggressive forechecking, defense is helping offensively, wingers are pinching in, and our grinders are making room for the elite players to get it done.

Thing is, Crosby doesn't have the drive Ovechkin does to get that many shots in the first place, so you're point is void. IF Crosby plays 35 more games, he will have 438 points, beating Ovie by almost 30 points.
Malking, who was SNUBBED of an MVP award last year by carrying the Pens for 2 months when Crosby was down, is ahead of Ovie in points this year, who plays with guys like Backstrom who is an elite passer, and Green who ahs 23 G's as a DMAN. Nice try tho dude.

Crosby played with TYLER KENNEDY and PASCAL DUPUIS ALL SEASON. Staal doesn't play with Crosby and never did all season. It was Crosby Dupuis Kennedy Satan(when he didnt suck) Malkin Sykora then Staal with Talbot and Fedotenko.
So no Malkin and Crosby don't play together. Crosby was playing with 2 grinders

alright Dylonus, you make a solid point that crosby has a higher PPG rating than Ovie, yet that is not a complete stat seeing as Ovie gets far more goals than Crosby. Although a point is a point, a goal is by far a more difficult thing to attain than an assist (i.e. pretty much every player has more assists than goals).
In regards to the Ovie vs. Crosby debate, i prefer Ovie, largely because he is a better fit for my team, by why argue between a playmaker and a sniper, they are very different

I think the real question is who is better, Evgeni Malkin or Ovie. Yet again I'd have to choose Ovie for his superior hitting ability (everyone does charges btw) and i personally just love the star power he brings to the team in a hard venue. I like Malkin, but he is far from fluent in English and that can hurt in a place where its hard to sell hockey. Also i think Ovie is just better with the puck than Malkin, maybe its because i'm biased, but it's just the sense i get.

Arguing Malkin vs Ovie is the same as Crosby. Malkin is a playmaker as well.
Ovie's advantage is he's faster than Malkin, but Malkin's size helps his puck control cause taking the body on Malkin is much harder than Crosby.
Goals are not more difficult to obtain when you shoot nearly 3 times more than the other player your comparing him to.
Crosby = 30 Gs on 219 shots.(13.4%)
Ovie = 53 G's on 482 shots.(11%)
IF CROSBY HAS 482 he would have 65 GOALS
So...You still want Ovie? ;-)

Malkin is a playmaker but undeniably his play style matches up with Ovie's better than Crosby who plays much more of a finesse game. Furthermore Malkin is far from the run of the mill playmaker, he has about 50 more shots than crosby and leads your team in shots, an odd stat for a playmaker.
Yes, Ovie is faster than Malkin, and has about 30 pounds on Malkin (even though Malkin is 1 inch taller, which i'd be willing to surrender). I dont see how that suggests that Malkin would be better?

You make a good point with the shot percentage. Only problem is that you cant be sure that Crosby or Malkin could even have the physical ability to create space and/or the release of Ovie to even get that many shots. Also in general Pitt shoots better than Wash, team total dif. is 2.5%, but the caps just put up more shots, it's the way the offense is built, so a heavy shooter fits better.

Dont always believe listed weight/height. They always said Gretzky was 6 foot, and truth to be. He's about 5'9". Also, think this. Jones-Drew, a RB in the NFL is 5'6" 208. Did you know he's the third strongest RB in THE NFL?
Malkin/Crosby don't need to do that in Pittsburgh. They have grinders like Kennedy, Talbot, etc. They do it for them. Malkin/Crosby make space via skill. I have nothing against Ovie, he's a fantastic player for the NHL today, but he does fit the Caps better.

In general all three are fantastic players. Crosby can pass the puck incredibly well, Malkin can burn goalies with his slap shot, and Ovechkin has a wrister that can kill. The question is what fits best where, and in a place like DC, with our offense, Ovechkin does well. For an established hockey powerhouse like Pitt, Malkin fits great, however the language barrier would become an issue in Wash.
So yea, I still want Ovie...

Funny how little you know about hockey, it's kinda obvious you've never really played it.
His feets leave the ice after the hit, thats kinda normal as its hard to remain on the ice then, and completely legal.
He stopped just before the hit, i.e no three strides.

a long time ago goalies werent even allowed to go down on their pads. they had to stand ALWAYS it was a penalty if they went down im not sure how long ago it was changed though, im only 14. i think it might be about 30 years ago 1970s
