  • I did a similar thing once. The Sears website has a 'see all' button at the top. Click on it, then click on the facebook link. (Or perhaps YouTube, or Twitter.) from there you can get anywhere on the web.

  • That looks like a laptop computer

  • The next time you're there, find a way to get back to the desktop (try hitting the "Windows" key, or "ALT+F4" or somethin') and fix the resolution. Why would they even bother to put expensive monitors in there and not even set them up with the right resolution?

  • @2BunnyReturns haha I'll be sure to see if I can make it to Control Panel next time.

  • @KioskHacking

Heh, all right. I'll look into it myself too if I ever make it down to the local Sears.

  • All of the kiosks in Sears I've been in had Wyse slim terms w/ WinXP Embedded or WinCE. They used RDP to get to a server, presumably out of the store.

  • @Chewytube1 Yeah I've been actually logged into the RDP quite a FEW times on several occasions (some careless employees forgot to log out.) I was confused when I first saw this because I knew it was Windows XP but the desktop was obviously a Windows 2000 desktop which led to to the conclusion that it was RDP. Sears uses Windows 2000 Server Edition in a RDP terminal to run alternate Point-Of-Sale apps for employees outside of the locked down Windows XP Embedded "kiosk-mode" environment.

  • couldnt u just ctrl-alt-delete and end the program

  • @cheezeheads They run "slimmed" down versions of Windows XP and disable alot of keyboard shortcuts. Trust me CTRL+ALT+DEL doesn't work. And even if I was able to exit out I would end up on a blank screen (They disable explorer.exe a.k.a. the start menu) I've seen the same kiosks up in there that had an app crash and it was stuck on a blank screen with a locked CMD prompt open, I rebooted them and they were back to normal.

  • Note- It seems as though one of my local Food4Less stores have stopped using Windows XP Embedded and has switched over to an Embedded version of Linux which is impossible to hack..it look like the PC may run Windows but they probably set it to boot from a Live CD instead of the HDD...but my other Food4Less store still uses Windows but the system mouse was out of order so i couldnt properl hack it so i could upload it to YouTube.

  • Should put porn on it and then walk off or one of those shock vido sites like 1 guy 1 cup.

  • Lmao

  • I wouldnt be able to do that because Sears kiosks automatically refreshes themselves back to the home page if not one touches them for over a minute, But im not really a malacious hacker so idk, but it is possible on thier price scanners since I was using Internet Explorer but id have to download flash

  • @KioskHacking Just curious... Where do you get a WinCE/WinMo version of flash. Nearest thing I found was TCMP, which plays flvs from youtube.

  • @Chewytube1 For the "Windows Mobile" version of CE (Note: this is my personal Windows Mobile smartphone I'm basing this off of) I've used SkyFire app for FULL web browsing flash, and I've used an Hacked version of Opera Mobile 9.5 for WinMo from XDA that allows full flash content. Also, on HTC phones they include an app called "HTC Streaming Media" which executes itself when you click on a video link (On YouTube's WAP site) within Windows Mobile's web browser(s). (continued) 1/2

  • @Chewytube1 (continued 2/2) as far as the core OS (Windows CE) which isn't so "app friendly" there isn't any apps nor is there any plugins (that I know of) that allows for this. I'm pretty sure I'm wrong and that there's an web browser that allows that. But the only place I've seen that done was on devices made by manufacturers that take the core OS and tweak it for the device itself for functionality. So your best bet is to find an "hacked" app that came from an OEM. Try Google. =S

  • @KioskHacking Thanks for the help. I've been searching for quite some time. I have skyfire and stock Opera. However, I'm not so sure I trust Skyfire, it's all done through proxies( and you cannot get Hulu because of this. ) i'll have do look for the hacked Opera.

  • What songs playing in the background?

  • It says it in the discription.

It's called 'I Love College' By Asher Roth

  • thanks for the info and i have done this at walmart but you cant go to any websites lol i think you push shift/ctrl and it brings up the task bar

  • I also know that pressing the shift key five times works also (at Food4Less) and pressing Ctrl+ESC brings up the taskbar.

WalMart had to be the easiest kiosk Ive ever hacked...well that & food for less. Its good to see a fellow kiosk hacker out there, its good to know that im not the only one!

  • yep im one of them i have also been doing this for years lol im in to computers so i find it pretty cool like at my work kroger they own food4less anyways they have this movieqube in there and i was on net playing around then i restarted it and it was ok lol

  • Yea Ive always weanted to hack one of those (We have RedBox DVD vending machines) but I dont really like effin with anything that handles credit card & cash because if I get caught I dont want them thinking im into funny business lol.
