I really like this song. I sang it at a party i went to with my brother many years ago where there was karaoke. It was a good memory. The girl who came up to the mic after i sang said "Back from her world tour..." it was nice to be complimented like that. I am really happy to have found this song/video. It was in my head but i couldn't remember who the song was by. My boyfriend told me that you can google lyrics from a song you are unsure about and it will find the song.
Yes,that how I was introduce to erasure was by Depeche mode...it was years ago, but yeah they are one of the music groups that did not get the respect they deserve.Kids my age in that day, made fun of them because of the gay thing. It was a different time and may years ago and we still have people posting hate.I am not gay and happily married and wish others to have the same.Life to short to make other people my business..Just be happy a.nd wish the same for others
@zvnteq7 : I think Vince Clarke the keyboardist was once in Depeche Mode - like at the beginning of the band, and then left due to "creative differences".
I love every single time I hear this at the club, it'll never get old, it will always mean a lot to everyone and anyone who listens to it because this is more than simple music, is a great poem made in the greatest music era: The 80s!
No wonder the video was never played on MTV back in the days... never knew the "gay" meaning behind it... nowadays the media would push it down our throats ad nauseam and force us to like it
great song! heard it in a movie several years ago and flipped out it was so good. i was at the store 2 hours later buying the cd. they are 1 of my faves now.
As predictable and predicted years before - the lead singer is indeed HIV positive - as is the lead singer of Frankie Goes To Hollywood - no surprise in the former and latter... great music but ridiculously cliche behavior...
I can't believe i never heard this song growing up in the 80's.. i was born in 77! which would of made about 11yrs old.... it took an episode scrubs for me to find this great song! he has an awsome voice!! don't think any one else could have ever pulled song off like Erasure did!!
I sang this at karaoke last night... It's so fun to sing. So much range. And it's soo passionate. I had my eyes closed the whole time because i was so into it. LOL
People used to say that Rod Stewart was gay. I could care less. The women love him, which makes for a "target rich environment" at his concerts. Go on play like you're a badass so as to impress all of your buddies. I'll take Erasure and women over Metallica and men anyday, and twice on Sunday.
@zvnteq7 I have been trying to figure this out for YEARS ! Maybe they wanted to show DM "UP"? With the success of The Innocent's album that was out the same time as MFTM from DM? Like they had a bigger "hit" or something?
For the time it came out the production on this was flawless. I had "The Innocents" on vinyl (still have it in the parents' basement :P ) and remember hearing the sterling quality of the sound. They put lots of work into it all of their radio work and it showed because these tracks sound as clean as anything released today.
I also like it when Ted the lawyer from Scrubs comes out, holds a microphone in his hand and starts singing A Little Respect. That's my favorite part of the Scrubs episode My Best Friend's Mistake.
Oh, wow- I have NEVER SEEN ANY OF THESE 80's videos. We were stationed at a European NATO base back then (no MTV!!!), for 7 years. I heard the songs a lot, mostly in the discoteques, lol. I've gone back in time...16 years old again
I will say it again...Andy Bell's voice can reach the heavens..one of the best singers of all time. We are so fortunate that Vince Clarke left Depeche Mode to form Erasure with Andy Bell. 2 genius bands instead of one...love Erasure and especially Andy Bell...
this song >>> better than you since 1988 lol! Thx for the studio audio, I am so tired of all the 'live' versions uploaded on youtube. If I wanted the live versions, I'd go to the concerts....
@suggestedusername This is the beauty of the internet. Someone like you can say something that makes you feel like a badass, without the inevitable ass whipping. Aren't you lucky you live in this age of technology?
@Fomquam HAHAHA That is EXTLY what I always say in my head when the ass wipes insult me! Its so true! They know if this were "real life" they'de get a damn good ass kicking!!!
