My bearded dragon Gilbert will sleep on my leg if i am at the computer but his fav spot is between me and my husband in bed so he can soak up our body heat. When he nestles he puts his whole body into it until hes comfy.
@happyninslave i bet this guy would lend me this just so i could have it burn you inside out, like the scorcher execution from gears of war 3, then i would watch it eat your burnt corpse
@happyninslave i bet your parents are too, raising a weak, unless, sad little asshole who thinks he's better than everyone because he did one good deed his whole life, how pathetic, BLOCKED!!!
My beardie does the same thing! If it's after 8 PM there is no waking him up. Passes out wherever you lay him, so long there's No bright lights of course. You're beardie is a super cutie!
i was at my grandmothers house and they have al ot of lizards in the garden but not bearded, still, i caught one. it was a baby lizard, not sure the type of species but it stayed with me for quite a while and let me touch him. i returned it to it's habitat. A few weeks later i saw another one tried to grab it and it ran away from me. i should've kept the first one. :/
My black and white tegu always fell asleep by me and always kicked my gf out of bed. She loves me alot but now she spends alot of time in her 12by10by8 cage since she's 7 1/2 ft. She does get to come in the house every so often just because she is kinda trained with going to the bathroom. I'd let the water, nile, and savannah monitors in but those guys will tear up everything and try to eat the cat.
@TheTheReptile Why is it that every video I see of a reptile, there has to be someone telling them that their treating it wrong? WTF is he doing wrong here? He is holding it in his hand... And it looks extremely healthy. They wrap their tails around your wrist for support when you hold them. You are retarded, you don't even know how to spell the word "referred".
I have an iguana and a savannah monitor and they both sleep with me. Literally--they sleep in the bed with me. Baby, my iguana loves to sleep on my chest, which makes me wake up with a bad back. Agreed, bearded dragons are one of the best starter reptile, but they're not the only species that sleep on their owners. =D
they like body heat like hot rocks, if you hold them for too long they stick to you like glue! works with some frogs and wild lizards too (as long as you dont pick up the ones that will bite your finger off)
shes not asleep, shes clamped onto you and not moving because shes scared. her eyes are open, her tail is curling around your arm to hang on, shes keeping her head down and shes breathing heavily
@masterdeath01 you dont have to be there to be able to interpret the basic body language in this video. even if you ignored everything else i said above, you could still tell the lizard is uncomfortable because its colours are so dark, meaning its either cold or unhappy.
@TheTheReptile The beardie's tail was probably curled around his arm because it saw the camera and got nervous since beardies (obviously) don't know what cameras are. And what is "riferred"? Did you mean "referred"? I don't see how this video was insulting to dragons as pets.
yours is small still mine are that small now and they run around alot and climb my shirt and all that but one is bigger and u can tell he is more lazy:P once beardies hit an age they get from jumpy to chill lol its funny to see on all active and the other just looking at him
@SazuXkittyXmi this is my first ever lizard hese a baby ive had him for 3 days now and all u need is cage uvb light uva light lots of crickets cage food bowl water bowl and something to snugle up and sleep in
i have one, her names petey. AND SHE IS FRIKIN AWESOME!! she is so active and cuddly. did you say she's/he's been sleeping for two hours? maybe you should see a vet
@ajo1237 hahaha. look at you. being all immature and shit. talking about how i dont have a penis or that its so small. hahaha. how about you grow a pair. and stop talking about other peoples dicks being small to hide your insecurity of yours being small. im just saying. hehehe. =)
@ajo1237 its actually funny because i dont know who ray is. annnndddd. nope. i didnt describe me. if you didnt notice. i was talking about you. hahaha. maybe pay attention next time. kthnkx =D
Another one may be a Chinese Water Dragon if you bond with them early they prefer to be handled as opposed to be in their cage at least thats the case with mine i'll go to put him back in his cage and he'll jump back on to me and go to sleep
When your lizard falls asleep on you it means it is comfterable with its current enviroment, meaning your hand. Your lizard trust you enough to fall asleep on your hand. You are probably a great pet owner. My tortise shelly likes to climb on my stomach and sleep there.
I have a beardie and hes about 1yr and 1/2 old...i think hes sick though, alls he deos is lay under his rock, he never comes out of it..even when i put food in his cage. i hope hes Okay =(
also dont just get a lizard beacause its docile. if you want a pet lizard or any pet really do your reaserch first because you never know what kind of commitment it reqiures or how much its gonna cost for its food and the rest of its care. Because just asking the guy or girl at the pet store dosen't cut it.
if hes not waking up for a very long time then hes probably in brumnation (excuse my spelling) bearded dragons have a reptile equivilent of hibernation and some may sleep for weeks on end, most dont though
i find mine only really sleeps once shes cold, if i let her out for an hour or so sometimes ill see her under the bed with her eyes closed then i feel her and shes cold, they should spend all day in a hot tank and under uv bulbs, although generally as adults they sit around most of the day, i dont think they should actually be sleeping :S
im thinking about getting one, so you would have to keep the light on all night? that seems like a waste of energy and its not sunny all day in the wild. ??
Exactly, in the wild lizards experience day AND night. So no, you don't need the light on at night, but just make sure it's still warm in there. Beardies generally need around 10 - 12 hours of light.
10-12 hours lights on during day time that helps em digest his food, and the bulb u need is a special kinda bulb and u can find it in a pet store( just as a reptile specilist), @ night u turn off all the light and it will go to sleep just.
I totally agree, we have had a leopard gekco and green anole, and neither was as calm as the bearded dragon, not only does my kids love this lizard, I love him, even my 4 yr old can even hold it in her hand and it won't jump or move, just lifts his head...they are GREAT for first time reptile pets and for kids that wants a reptile, but are little leary of them jumping. They are very laid back and lazy. They do get big later, but really laid back reptile.
beardies ar not surpost 2 be that sleepy m8, it may act this way becaus of nerves, or it could be scared of something, or may not feel completly comfortable
i had 1< and i no many people with these lizards, they are usualy very lively,
Mine's sleep too! When I first got Ray I was so worried that he needed exercise, but now i've accepted that I have a sleepy pet and watch him sleep...unless there's crickets involved. Then he's all over it.
My bearded draggy is 3 years old now, and I noticed that when we cuddle with him, he often falls asleep very very very quickly. It could be just us holding him in our hands, or whatever. I sometimes think it's a self-defense thing, because honestly, dragons aren't known for their intelligence.. but, what a weird survival instinct that must be. 'Oh, I think I'm going to be attacked! I'll just fall asleep!' lol.
Fuck I hate that stupid people can barely type a coherent sentence.
Thank you for pointing out how stupid you are. To comment on something you already admit to knowing nothing about, shows us already what kind of person you are. Your typing skills, or lack thereof also show it too.
You cant be that fuckin stupid can you? Im tired of you brave sons of whores on youtube who get all tough when they are behind a keyboard. Just shut your fuckin mouth before you look any more stupid. And who the fuck are you to say I dont know about lizards? And how am I a yank prick? Fuck you.
i just didn't think it was right of you to insult and call him a "yank prick" and tell him his lizard was dying when you don't know anything about them.
what's your problem? quit insulting people about shit you know nothing about.. bearded dragons are VERY sound sleepers and it's normal for them to not move an inch while they sleep.
that's just how they are, and why many bd experts suggest not putting electronic heat rocks in their tanks, because if they fall asleep on it, they wont wake up if it gets to be extremely hot, and it may end up burning their skin.
Our male beardie does the same thing on my husband. If we put him on the couch, he goes to the edge of the pellows and goes to sleep. Our female, well we just got her and we do not know much of her personality yet.
My beardie always does that, i think that means they are comfortable with you being their owners. like when i go into mines cage and fix her stuff even though she is sleeping she never opens her eyes, she knows its me and she knows she has nothing to fear
Well it depends, If you just got him and he is still getting to know you it could meen that they are scared and close their eyes to "play dead". But then it can also meen that they enjoy the comfort of your skin. Human hands or comfy and warm for them
Sleeping constantly is a sign of brumation. And November is around the time some dragons decide to brumate. (Brumation is a form of semi-hibernation that dragons go through prior to the breeding season.)
How old is it? sometimes if its a young guy he will be a bit skittery. But it happens to everyone, my girlfriend was holding him and he went after her hair she screamed.....loudly
when i try to pick up my lizard, he moves away from me. one time when my lizard was sleeping i tryed to pick him up and he jumped half way across the cage, than jumped on my face
Ah man! I miss my beardie now. When I would stay over at friend's houses it would snuggle up under my hood or collar and hide it's eyes so it could go asleep. Then when I woke up, it would too.
My bearded dragon Gilbert will sleep on my leg if i am at the computer but his fav spot is between me and my husband in bed so he can soak up our body heat. When he nestles he puts his whole body into it until hes comfy.

they DO rock though. I <3 them!

Fuck I hate that stupid people can barely type a coherent sentence.
Thank you for pointing out how stupid you are. To comment on something you already admit to knowing nothing about, shows us already what kind of person you are. Your typing skills, or lack thereof also show it too.

is it dead???????????????????
beardiedude 2 years ago
i just didn't think it was right of you to insult and call him a "yank prick" and tell him his lizard was dying when you don't know anything about them.
WhiteLionness 2 years ago
what's your problem? quit insulting people about shit you know nothing about.. bearded dragons are VERY sound sleepers and it's normal for them to not move an inch while they sleep.
that's just how they are, and why many bd experts suggest not putting electronic heat rocks in their tanks, because if they fall asleep on it, they wont wake up if it gets to be extremely hot, and it may end up burning their skin.

Our male beardie does the same thing on my husband. If we put him on the couch, he goes to the edge of the pellows and goes to sleep. Our female, well we just got her and we do not know much of her personality yet.
MrsHerbert08 2 years ago
My beardie always does that, i think that means they are comfortable with you being their owners. like when i go into mines cage and fix her stuff even though she is sleeping she never opens her eyes, she knows its me and she knows she has nothing to fear

killerraison 2 years ago
Well it depends, If you just got him and he is still getting to know you it could meen that they are scared and close their eyes to "play dead". But then it can also meen that they enjoy the comfort of your skin. Human hands or comfy and warm for them

Sleeping constantly is a sign of brumation. And November is around the time some dragons decide to brumate. (Brumation is a form of semi-hibernation that dragons go through prior to the breeding season.)

He is cold. Not in a bad way. Cute though.
SuperTeddyNinja 2 years ago
Yeah, I bet he's brumating. Nothing to worry about, as long as you make sure he basks after feeding; if undigested, food can rot in their stomachs.
totalwombatfan 2 years ago
Mine does that too, it's so adorable! :D

Mine sleeps almost every time I take him out, but he only sleeps in two places, no where else. Occasionally he'll sleep in the cage..not too often.

Ah man! I miss my beardie now. When I would stay over at friend's houses it would snuggle up under my hood or collar and hide it's eyes so it could go asleep. Then when I woke up, it would too.
