Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto - Dalibor Brazda Mvmt. 1 (1/2)

I´ve read that dalibor played the bassoon, and this rendition is familiar to me. It´s a high level performance and I´m almost sure that it´s Itzhak Perlman´s rendition. By the way his Mozart´s concerti perfomances are really musically sophisticated.

Thanks for sharing this recording--I have never heard of this violinist and would like to hear more--it's an expressive interpretation. I always listen to the very virtuistic passage at 7:26 to assess this VC--so far, in my estimation the violinist to handle it best is Francescatti (take a listen and compare him to the other "masters here) many will slow it down considerably or make changes in order to handle it. Would love more info on this man--I love discovering "new" violinists! Thanks!

It's a little puzzling, because I've looked him up as much as I possibly could and to my dismay, the little bit of information available on him focuses its attention on his career as a conductor. I do, however, have a recording of him playing Mozart's 3rd and 4th Violin Concerti. I've had those recordings for many many years (many for me at least, I'm only 17) and ever since I've heard them I've NEVER had the desire to listen to any other renditions.

Probably because he is originally from the Czech republic? Thats sort of what I am mulling around in my brain though I am not sure...

Well he WAS from the Czech republic and that may be a reason why. Because you certainly don't hear much of anything about those of Czech nationality.

A competent reading, though not outstanding to my ears. Despite it being Auer's edit, I much like Heifetz's version. For a more modern approach, Midori's right here on Youtube is nice too (despite the fact she has a lapse in a scale which is quite noticeable). Judging by your username, I'm assuming you've heard Perlman's.

Yes I've heard Perlman's, I have it. I still like this rendition here more. Maybe it's because it was the one I grew up with. It was the first violin concerto I ever heard to be serious, and Dalibor Brazda's rendition was the one that I heard. Maybe I'm just biased.

I like Leonid Kogans interpretation the best, more so than Heifitz, though there my 2 favs.
