  • I believe the practitioner sensed the master's uplifting from the ground by his feet, and hence, managed to avoid the swing. If this is true, then this has nothing to do with a special sense, but rather more to do with sensing vibrations which every person can.

  • i love seeing the trolls on here , id love to watch any of them to take on any of hatsumi sensies direct students , theyd be dead before they blinked lol

  • Hummm, maybe I'm wrong but, somehow I feel the shidoshi exposed the attack when he stood on tiptoes.

  • there is a reason there are a lot of white people in Ninpo...thats all I'll say.

  • I love coming onto these pages.............Full of Great experts LMFAO!

  • what kind of bullshit is this???

    gimme a break!!!

  • Notice the many other sakki tests. In this test he seems to wind up more than other people.

  • This is bull.

I've watched several of these 'sakki' videos and as an experienced iaidoka, the seated person is given plenty of opportunity to escape because the swordsman creates a huge opening when he winds up; the type of opening that would get him killed in a kendo match.

Now if we applied the idea of absolutely no extraneous movement as anyone in any legit iaido dojo hears repeatedly, there'd be a lot less ninjas escaping bokutos. :)

  • So you think this test, from a still sitting position, is meant to be a similar situation to a kendo match do you?

What you are seeing here is not a fight, it's the demonstration of a certain sense. In a kendo match you don't start by sitting still in seiza underneath your opponent with your eyes closed! Naturally the cut is big here; in a fight, with your eyes open and standing and facing the opponent, someone who can pass this test and react before they think is at a tremendous advantage.

  • @fourplusseven what is implying it the chages in settings you must see and hear. and it was more likely used in execution settings.

  • Obviously this is not a self defense technique, it is ONLY a test. I f you waste your time watching this video, is better you study the meaning of "Sakki": 'Sakki' meaning killer intention. You need to feel the "bad intentions" presage in the correct moment.

  • @Proton1 You know nothing about bujutsu. If you train properly, you would experience this feeling anyway. The test has nothing to do with the sword or movement. You should go through it, then see how well you do...how well you can connect :)

  • What the hell are you saying ?

you are missing the point over here

  • @Proton1 yes BUT your eyes are closed and you are facing the other way. one of my students thought that he could get out of the way if he had his eyes open kneeling and facing me. After being hit 8 times (with a rubber coated training sword)

he gave up and admitted he was wrong! your Bull!

  • @gekiryudojo Don't bother feeding the trolls. These people don't know.

For anyone criticizing this or saying it's easy: if you're not accompanying your comment on this page with a link to your own video _demonstrating_ how easy you find it , no-one is listening to you. Show us you can pass this test, then you can make any comment you like. If you can't pass, you can't comment.

  • i have looked at several of these test i think this guy had a better roll out.

  • I think on YouTube the best godan test is Amir Khan's:

    watch?v=2dnzKr3buFk

Check it out, it's extremely impressive.

  • @fourplusseven mine was better with hatsumi /watch?v=ChKogMZOv0g

  • @gekiryudojo Also very impressive. I won't pick between you guys, but that is how it should be done.

  • @fourplusseven thanks! it has saved my neck several times but thats another story.

  • Shihan van donk's wife linda van donk is a 10th dan so she had to pass

  • Lots of women have passed

  • solo decir "increible"

  • Nice pass :) Hey, does anyone know if a woman has ever passed a sakki test? I just haven't seen or heard anything of it. I'm going to start train bujinkan this fall so I'd like to know...

  • I believe that Carol Koch (Shihan, Judan) , is 10th dan, so I would presume that she would have had to pass the sakki test for her Godan (5th Dan.).

  • I see, thanks :)

  • Yep, many women passed the test, including one of my teacher, Estelle Padeloup, 11th dan.

  • That's nice to know, thanks : )

  • Yes, many woman has also passed the test.

  • this is the first thing we learned in the FBI and Navy Seals. throwing stars were next of course.

by the way there are people in the armed forces who train in just about everything....primarily because there are millions of people in the armed forces. The Army Reserve and Marines now teach modified MMA as their art for unarmed combat.

  • Does the Soke always move before he strikes?

Fair play to the student, it is a very hard test to pass, but perhaps he picked up on that sign before it came down.

  • A good pass! Ive seen a vid not long ago and there were a lot of people going for the test who were Dreadful! You can see mine on my channel (Knife 3) I do think that if people are going to put down this test DO IT FIRST Please.

  • Great!!!

  • That was a funny roll! He got the feeling though! Great job.

  • he passed!
