This is originally a Russian childrens cartoon and it was very popular in Sweden in the 1970s. Everyone born in that era remembers it so it's super nostalgic. There was also a kind of "talk show" with hand dolls where Gena and his little friend were telling stories and then they showed an episode of the Russian cartoon with overlay dubbing.
