Could of been your last adventure. Pyroclastic flows can come out of an ash cloud at any time and they dont really care about the presence of water. Nice footage!
Had that plume of ash collapsed onto itself and become a pyroclastic flow, you would have been history in less than a second, dude... you have cohones, that's for sure...
Anak Krakatoa is a historical volcano the one then known as Krakatoa in 1883 made the most loudest bang ever on record when it completely blown it's entire top, what the publisher saw in this video was a small rebuild of it's former glory and witnessed a small but rather large piece of history. Got there at the right place and most certainly at the right time.
Man, adventures one thing but you guys were too close in the boat. That could have ended badly. Any volcano in that area is gonna be unpredictable when erupting, and given that Volcano's particular history..... Great footage though, and i'm kinda jealous when i leave my sensible head to one side
It appears to me like the boat is 5 to 10 miles from the Anak. At that distance a minor eruption (happen all the time there) is not a problem. If Krakatoa blew up like it did in 1833, then he'd have been toast. In any case there is no warning, so one either avoids the area altogether or takes the miniscule chance, and if your time is up, you bend over, stick your head between your legs and kiss it all goodbye. Why worry about it?
He now has something to show the grandkids, with sound off.
why the fuck are u like so close to the mountain, if that thing really had a major eruption you would be screwed. I bet that's why he was saying fuck all the time.
uh........bit fuckin close to this mountain 'ya think? christ. id' get the fuck outta there in a hurry. moron, sitting there, like 1/2 mile from the shoreline here, with this thing erupting. and he's staring up at it with a dumb, stunned, "Fuck" expletive coming out his piehole. that friggin' mountain would go off, and you'd be cindered in a heartbeat, enveloped in a pyroclastic cloud, within seconds. unreal.
He has no balls !! , he simply is a very stupid idiot. hear the way he laughs, thats his brain emotionally reacting, beceause it doesnt know whats happening.
I think explosive eruptions like ones of the vulcanian, strombolian, or plinian type are a lot more fascinating to watch than boring lava flows from Hawaiian volcanoes. Anak Krakatau is one of my favorites. And by the way, those pyroclastic flows aren't the best thing to be videotaping up close. They can travel over water too!
WAW ,,amazing pyroclastic flows ! it's called "LAHAR" in Indonesia and south east Asia ! the grey volcanoes "Explosive" are most dangerous than Shield volcanoes."Hawaiian".
@lookgooddz: OK, we agree on that. A pyroclastic flow, OTOH, is a mixture of hot gasses and ash, usually the result of a collapsing vertical Plinian column. A pyroclastic flow may have temperatures as high as 1000 F near the column, and a speed of up to several hundred km/hr. Gasses include steam, H2S, CO, CO2, and normal air components. Flows are more extreme close to the column and dissipate with range.
the place were the boat is and all the sea you can see in the video, before the first explosion on 26 august 1883 was a beautiful island .. Anak Krakatoa is all that was left... the shockwaves from the explosion reverberated around the globe 7 times.... the biggest explosion on human history..

There was also a major wave that washed out nearby towns, and mass rocks were tossed out for miles. That eruption completely devastated the indonesian islands. It was amazing to hear about but unfortunately, the damage of it was absolutely horrendous.
@UnionMetalhead I know, wasn't that one of the highest sounds ever documented in human history? I've heard it blew up tho entire island (wrong facts, though), and that the sound of the explosion could be heard in Australia too. This maybe be wrong though, but I still think it's amazing
@UnionMetalhead The pressure wave was recorded all around the would until 5 days after, and the eruption caused global temperatures to fall to up to 1.2 degrees Celsius. Weather didn't return to normal until 1888 =\.
@AzothAkanian it doesnt surprise me. pinatubu declined the climate by 0.5 degrees after the mass 1991 eruption too, i think tamborini was the devastater recorded on the highest scale causing a year without summer 1815ish
