i read that u buy wrapping paper for the gold pieces on your peacock tutorial, doesn't it cost a lot to have such a wide range of colors AND all of those colorful piaces are made from copy paper? copy paper is quite expensive when they are colored, especially when u hav so many projects using a lot of paper
@yuuki1310 wrapping paper is only $2 here (i live in newzealand). and yes its expensive to get a whole bunch of colours, so if you dont make as much as me then its better to get a multicolour pack from $10-$20
OMG I REALLY LOVE THIS! I JUST HAVE ONE ?. when ur doing the outline for stick B and A, they look lie different colors, are they? I really need you to answer quickly because I'm starting a stick tail RIGHT NOW!
@unnessasarylongname yeah, same^^ although on his 3dorigami site there are some people who make more bigger intricate impressive things than him, he has a better aesthetic and better presentation^^
would it look the same if i halved the size or triangles but double the amount like 1 regular triangle = 2 smaller? but each row or regular would be 2 row of smaller
@nastuhaish 1/32 of an A4 paper ~ 3.7 x 5.2 cm. look up 3d origami for beginners, the vid shows you how to divide paper into rectangles to cut, how to fold and how to connect into a circle
@saturnplus2000 you just put them on how you normally put pieces on, the closest thing to that which i show is putting on necks on swans, its similar. i know the tails are annoying cos they're next to each other and you may knock some when you place tails next to each other. and they're heavy and tip over. you just have to slot them on hard and straight up and probably glue them if you want to make it easier, also if its a gift, cos the tails just arent that stable
Looks awesome... I feel like making the first part as a "scope" for my bow, but then the time it takes to get the paper, shape the paper, sit here in hours of confusion... its just not working out. How long did it take for you to make this?!
@meanleanchris96 about 30 mins to an hour (folding time is separate since i used to fold at school or just bring blocks of paper with me when i go out)
This is my second one of these im making but my first one won't stand up the tail weighs too much in the back and tips it over. How did you get yours to stand up without falling over. The second one is being sold to someone thats why i ask.
@newashleyjersey yeah the sticks are annoying, u have to glue them to stop them slipping. mine tips over sumtimes too, but you just have to push the sticks on tight so that they stand up straight. i used to make it and then pick it up by the sticks and see which bits slip, and add hot glue there, but there will always be something slipping so i recommend gluing every single piece for the stick tails, and maybe even the last 2 rows of the body. the sticks just have to stick up tight and straight
i saw plain white swans at my mums friends house (the daughter made them). i looked it up on the net (since i came across it b4 but didnt think i'd like it since i didnt do modular origami, but it was impressive in real life), found it again, lurnt it (plain white swan), got coloured paper, made other stuff lookn at pics on the net. got the books later on for new ideas, lookd up more 3d origami pics, and developed so much since then lol
@jewellia7777 thats kinda what i did but i didnt go to anybody house
and people in my family keep on telling me to keep up the good work and make them some and hen they start showing there friends o.O and then i started making like alot most of them r yours i used ur tutorial and make alot of them
im chinese but i dont speak or write it, cos i speak diojiu, and was born in newzealand. i just hav azn songs since i watched brown sugar machiatto and liked the songs from that
"more and more 3D origami". theres also "3d origami" and "more 3D origami". you can easily find these 3 books by typing "3d origami book" on google and its on amazon.
i make them myself. i do that too. sum r a bit smaller than others, sum flaps arent folded accurately but u dont see them anyway when u slot them on. if 1 piece looks a bit small or big/ "wrong" from the rest in the row wen i slot it on, i take it off and replace it with another. it mite look alright with sum other smaller/ bigger pieces later on. just cut the paper into rectangles accurately and not in a rush (like i do lol) 2 get equal pieces
I use index cards and it was a lot bigger and stiffer. That right their is the best 3d object I could have made, and I loved making it. And the only disadvantage is that you can't get black or red index cards, not that I know of. I just replaced the red with more pink. My peacock is about 2 feet tall, but my one colored swan is only one. Thanks a loooooooooooot for the tutorial, you;ve helped a lot of people make the peacock, including me!!!!! Thaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnkkkkkkkkkkkksssssss again!!!
index cards are rectangle cards that you can find at office max, staples. Just go in and ask for them. They are usually in packs of 100 or 300 and are most of the time striped. just fold so the blank side is showing. Those are what index cards are
hello it's really amazing!! you don't use glue (yes the neck but just the neck? do you use standar a4 paper like for the school (not thin or fat?) what s the mensurations? (like 10x10 for exemple xd) and the tutorial for the triangle is the same for this like the sawm or ect
watch the beginner vid 2 c how its done. ya all triangles r made the same 4 all models. glue was used for the neck and stick tails (and i put eyes on it after). look up A4 paper, wikipedia has the measurement of A4 paper in the list. sum ppl r confused of wot A4 paper is. it is 1 size only, and is like 21cm x 29cm or sumthn, too lazy 2 check/measure, it'll b on wikipeida. then u fold that A4 paper into rectangles shown on the beginner vid
your tutorials are to fast haha i cant see how u connect them...
I tried making mine but since mine falls apart i glued the base down at least but isn't every base piece supposed to be up under up under?? Well like 2 of mine on the base end up being up up and then under under so im confused i did it like halfway and then noticed it was sitting up it wasnt circular so yeah if you could help me and soon i was making this as a bday gift for someone but now i dont think it is is possible hehe ^_^
ya its supposed 2 b under over under over. so if its up, up, then u did it wrong. so just take the 2nd piece ("up, up"), and put it under (so its up down). watch the beginners vid and u shud kno how 2 do it. wen making PAIRS u put 1 triangle on the RIGHT HOLE in ALL of them so they are all in the same side hole. so wen u connect them, it'll easily end up bein under over under over with no confusion. if u connect evry single piece 4 the base u'll make mistakes like up down up up
i think that is wat i did but i fixed it now and it is looking pretty so far hehe thanks so much for all your help in trying to figure this out you have been an awesome person helping me figure this out hehe i think my friend will love this and i will post a pic of wat it looks like once i am done hehe ^__^ thanks again!!!

do you glue every other piece cuz i have the 3d origami books and they advice that and your piece holds very well but mines sometimes come off because i do not use glue..
no i dont use glue, the whole point is that they slot onto each other and stay. did u watch the vid 4 beginners? i show how 2 make a stable base, u shud never hav 2 use glue cz it never comes apart if u just stack the pcs into sticks b4 use, it makes them stronger.
A4 sized paper (printer paper), watch the vid for beginners 2 c exactly how i do it, ther may b sum useful tips in ther such as how 2 hold it, how to make the pieces stronger/hold 2gether..etc
