Can you tell me how you run the Alesis through the loop quietly? I have the Peavey ValveKing, and when I run my Midiverb 4 through the loops, it's hissy....
@DRB471 Hello. I don't really remember the settings, cause I sold both the amp and the fx unit a couple of years ago, BUT I remember that you have to set both the input and output levels correct in order to avoid hiss. Perhaps you have turned the fx loop send knob up to high so the Alesis can't handle the strong signal? I'm just guessing here...
I think the Alesis has some sort of auto level feature? You might wanna try that.
But i believe that it has something to do with the levels. :)
nice going man! really like earing you play!. i'm thinking on geting your pickups set for my Ibanez... but i was wondering how they work in the middle position. i have mahogany body... do you think they'll sound as good as yours?
@necax007 Thanks. Yes, I think it works. They are both pretty bright pickups, so with the darker souding mahogany body it might sound perfectly! If they don't sound the way you want, try other pickups!
Hey friend ! Here I'm, once again in a late office hour day, listening to this - still I'm not bored hearing you play. I am in love with your phrasing here. Dude, you should come up with an album. And I know its gonna come awesome. Best wishes to you !!
Hey cedric man I got the 2 12 combo and on the ultra channel it squels and hard to stop somtimes it won't unless I got to crunch channel or clean channel other channels work fine just ultra channel squels so I ran into a marshall 4 12 and squealing stopped even with gain all way up and volume loud I've tried normal stuff not standing infront of amp etc... any ideas man would be great
@lickburner48 May be a loose tube. Combos are notorious for having this issue. Tubes dont like being in the speaker cabinet. When you run the extension it moves some of the power and vibration away from the head even if it doesn't cut out the in-cab speakers. I'd start there. Hope it helps.
Hey, can you do a video of you jamming with your new Mesa? I'd like to hear the difference between it and the JSX. I really like the feeling you put into your playing. Keep it up man. I get so tired of these guys that think the only way to show an amp and cabs tone is to do a bunch of metal riffs. It's a breath of air to see someone actually play and have a lead tone and not just a bunch of brittle distortion and trying to get 60 notes in one measure.
Dude, great playing. This video inspired me to buy a Peavey JSX. I'm getting it today and can't wait to check it out with a few cabs. What Cab are you using and are they stock speakers? Thanks. Oh, by the way, Great Gary Moore stuff.
@tmscad I tried a lot of different cabinets, but the one that I liked the most was a Marshall 2x12 with G12T-75 speakers. The JSX has LOTS of mid, so my advice is to go for a speaker that has a bit scooped mid frequencies.
I sold my JSX, bought a Marshall JVM410H - sold that too and now I'm using a modded Mesa Lonestar 100 w head, IMO closest to the sound that I have in my head, but I guess there will be more amplifiers around... some day... LOL
@tmscad Thanks for getting back with me. You sound a lot like me. Always looking for that tone and always switching out equipment to find it. Thanks for the great video.
@tmscad No problem. But I think I'm keeping this Mesa for a long time, I'm still amazed by it's tone... and together with my TC Electronic G-system it's so flexible. But it's always fun with new stuff, makes you more inspired, but that only lasts for so long... LOL Glad you liked the video! Rock on!
@ErtThewolf That's great news! Really glad you like the combination! I'm still not quite there with my tone on the JS1200, but it works. Still a bit too bright, but on the other hand - there is presence and treble knobs to turn, so let's do it! ;) Rock on, brother! :)
@waveripper00001 I think the video camera captured the sound in a pretty objective way, that's how it sounded.
I used JJ ECC83 preamp tubes, I think the Electro Harmonix that mine was shipped with sounds really bad in the high mids, very harsh and ugly. Plus I also put in JJ KT77's as powertubes. Same here... was shipped with EH tubes. One of the biggest improvement in tone is to try different cabs. I tried like 10 different. The one that sounded best was Celestion G12T-75 (in my ears).
@andriessen No problem! I think this video captured the sound of the JSX very well. This is how it sounds when you stand in front of the amp. Take care!
@kingcl3 Yes, watch my "Marooned"-video. Unfortunately the guitar sound on that one was mixed a bit low, but I think you'll get an idea of how it can sound. :)
Any idea why Satriani didn't use the ultra channel on this amp for his solos but used a distortion pedal instead? Is it because it just isn't that great, or what?
@creation23 I have no idea, but I have to admit that I was a little disappointed when I found out... I think the JSX has a fine tone, so I can't understand why he didn't use the overdrive channels.
I use 009's on all my guitars nowadays. I used 010's for many years, but went back to 009's because of the (IMO) better playability plus I like the slinkier sound they give.
The JS feels very different with heavier strings on it - almost like another guitar.

@Dorrian7vwh Well, I didn't sell my JSX, I traded it for a Marshall JVM, so I guess if you look at the used gear prices of the JVM you'd get a hint of where the prices are.
wow....i have been playing and listening to music for a few hundred years, and i really appreciate those players who have commited themselves to pouring out the best their heart and soul can produce,,,,,,,your abilitys are inspiring, i have been checking out amps,,, and was down to the peavey jsx,,,and mesa boogies, electric dyne90wt..... this video helped me decide,,,thank you,,, your awesome , soulfull expressions are a powerfull motivation..... rock on. ..Earl
@EarlIam Thanks Earl! You know I don't own this amp anymore? I traded it for a Marshall JVM, but I wasn't satisfied with that either, so now I have a Mesa Boogie Lonestar right beside me here... now I'm done searching for my sound, this is it!
Check it out, you might be surprised by the Lonestar's sound, I know that I was... but mine is a bit modded though... it rocks!
@CedricIII Hello Again! I took your suggestion , sort of, about the lonestar,
i went down to my local guitar center, and a excellent guitar man showed me what a mesa boogie could do,, specifically the Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier 2 x 12 Roadster,
it blew me away, ,,, he called it,, the amplifier for life,,,,i am extremely happy,,,,thanks for the motivation,,,,now to get my fingers buzzy,,,,ouch... Earl
@GuitarAriaFreak1010 The RG and JS is completely different guitars, so you can't really compare them how they feel and so on. The JS has a much fatter neck and the over all feeling is more like a modern strat than a metal guitar IMO. Good luck.
@CedricIII that's nice! I like the feeling of a fender neck! The RG has a strange flat neck, I don't like it. So I guess I'm saving my money up for a JS1200 and search for a shop to try it :)
Great playing mate! Awesome Tone. I have a Mesa Lonestar and I need pedals to get that drive and sustain on the lead channel! Right out of the amp that JSX is killer! Is that the 100W or the 50W JSX? Does it have a master volume? How do you like the JS1200? Again, great work man. Andrew.
Where you from ....... Nice playing ..... I saw in another vid you had a "Great White North" shirt on ....... Would love to get together and jam a few ....
Nice playing man...I was wondering what your pedal board set up is? I have a jsx and I'm running a rivera 4x12 with v30's in it, but I haven't found that perfect pedal set up yet. I really dig your tone and sustain, and was wondering if you could tell me what your set up looks like? Thanks man!
Nice playing. I have the same guitar but use it with a Vox Tonelab pedalboard. You have good feel and plenty of technique man. Satriani can shred but can you make look into his soul with one note :)
Im planing on getting a peavey JSX head second hand as i dont have the money for brand new how dose it sound with a mashall cab that you used to have huked up to it is it still a good sound??????????
I think that an ordinary Marshall 1960 4x12 cab suits the JSX head perfectly. I still got the JSX 4x12, but got rid of the JSX. I've compared my JSX cab with a Marshall cab and it's almost so that the marshall cab is better than the peavey cab.
I'd say - GO FOR IT! ...if you like the sound from the JSX....
Because I didn't like the sound of it, nothing else. The JVM suits my needs much better. But the JSX is a great amp, it cuts through any mix without sounding too harsh or something. But the lack of cleaning up with the guitar volume was too much for me. I really need an amp that cleans up well...
It's really hard to explain how it sounds, you've got to try it for yourself.
The clean channel is really clean. You can't get it to break up and be crunchy, or at least not until your ears start bleeding cause of the volume that I't would take to distort...
I think the video captures the distortion sound really well, so what you hear is what you get.
Of course you can get harder sounds too, cause the active EQ is really effective.
@CedricIII iv got my peavey jsx now its awsome but i need help i have a vox satchurator, a boss dd7, a boss CS3 and a electro harmonix pog what order would you put that in and what sould go in the fx loop
goodness that's my dream guitar!!!! you deserve that axe mate you play as good as joe,, keep sending your videos mate me and my friends are enjoying it!
Yeah, you know, it did maintain the sustain, but it didn't clean up. That's why I traded it. I want the amp to clean up nicely when you roll off guitar volume and the JSX just didn't do the trick.
The video speaks for itself, yes! Thanks for watching!
thats exactly what i wanted to know... im looking for an amp thatll clean up as well
budda seems to be one of the best at this but they seem near impossible to track down in canada to try one... but there is one store supposedly ordering in a bunch
and have you found another amp that does that well?
Well, I ended up with a Marshall JVM 410H. Not only does it clean up better than the JSX, but it has midi built in and a whole lot of other features... suits my needs much better.
However I sometimes miss the JSX, it's really ballsy and cuts through really well. But the foot control was really crappy when it comes to the user layout if you know what I mean.
The footswitch has three buttons, the first is for the clean channel on/off. The clean channel blocks the other two channels - which are controlled by button number two. You toggle between the crunch/ultra channels.
The third button is on/off for the loop.
I no longer have this amp, but I found a midi foot pedal that had two programmable relay switches built in, that made changing channel on the amp and effects very simple by pressing only ONE button. Behringer FCB 1010.
Best tone and feel in the bizniz, right beside my other hero - Luke.
You should be doing this all day and nite bro! We really should be doing something like this - a blues/rock/funk-thing to really put you in front. I'm really proud and blessed to have the opportuny to play beside you.
I don't think it would sound good running it in front of the amp, unless you have a clean setting on the amp and use an OD or distortion pedal before the midiverb.
The best place for it is in the loop, but I don't think Plexis have loops, right?
I haven't tried the G-major, but from what I hear they are really bad quality with broken edit-wheels. But others than that I don't think they're gonna fail on you.
The midiverb4 is a cheap and reliable unit and for me it works perfectly.
I guess you have to try them both and let your ears do the choosing.... ;)
thanks very much ... yes ive heard teh g-major is very flimsy myself ...reliability is key for me at this stage in my musical career glad to hear the midiverb is solid
Yeah, I would wish that too, but it's a crappy market for session players these days... plus you need to make sure you have a steady income to pay the bills and so on... you know how it is, right?
Aside from the great tone .. it's refreshing to see someone using great phrasing in their solos ... instead of the typical 'wank fests' that are so prevalent on Youtube ... sounds to me like someone is quite Lukather and Carlton influenced ... lol .. .the tune at 4:08 in particular .. sweet Luke'isms dude .. the Rosanna type over bends at 4:56 ... love em ... Great upload !!!!
You're right in your observations, Luke and Carlton have been very big influences on me and my playing in the past... I like to keep things melodic, people seem to enjoy that which makes me glad! Feels a bit weird to have your playing analyzed though, *lol* ♫
I've been playing guitar long enough to recognize some riffs that even I use .. lol .. Your a great guitarist by the way !!!and even Steve Lukather will admit his mentor was Larry Carlton .. I've been listening to those cats forever
Thanks! Yeah, I know what you mean, everytime you hear a guitarist you try to identify what artists he/she has been influenced by. It happens even if you don't think about it, lol.
I admit that I've have taken many licks by these two players, but I always try to stop in time so I don't get too much the same sound if you know what i mean?
Just take a look at all those Yngwie copycats... ;)
Yes, that's right, it's the JSX straight 4x12 speaker.
It has a great feature, a DI-out, speaker simulated output, so you can take a cable and connect it straight into a mixer without a microphone. I've used it several times and I get compliments for my sound all the time.
Tested a lot of different speakers with the JSX and I think that Celestion G12T75 is what sounds best with the JSX.
I traded the JSX for a Marshall JVM 410H. Still have the speaker though...
What power tubes do you have in the JSX. I just re-tubed mine with JJ EL34 Hi Gain option. And they sound alot alike! I have a Silver Jubilee on the way and am thinking of selling it, but I found you on YouTube and played my jsx today at high volume, I think I'll keep them both and see what they sound like in stereo!! Great vid and playing as always man!
Well, first off, I traded my JSX recently... for a Marshall JVM, and I don't regret it at all, BUT... The JSX is a really good, well built amp. I did it's job fine, but for me an amp HAS to clean up when you roll of guitar volume. JSX just don't do that the way I like it.
Anyway, I tried EL34... which it came with (EH), then I tried Svetlana 6L6, but you can't stop 'til you tried them all, so I tossed in a quartet of JJ KT77's which I think takes the best from both EL34's and 6L6's.
I'm passing by every day to get my daily dose of inspirational playing and sweeeet sound. Would it be possible to add text comments to see which pickup you're using in which section?
Very impressive! Sweet tone and playing. I'm looking for replacement pickups for my JS100. That Breed/PAFJoe combo seems to be a good choice. Are you trying different ones now or do you think this is it?
That was some amazing playing! And the tone was great too. The great musicians always seem to go unknown. But were you playing with the breed or paf pro in the part in 1:45?
good tones... well done!!! you know... the hand is olso very important :))... the same tone is sound like shit if someone don't know how to hammer the frets :)... what's your band sound?
Det är ett backingtrack som jag laddade ner från bluesjamtracks(dot)com. Klicka på The Blue Room och scrolla ned till Jerry Donahue's låt. Voilá - there it is!
CedricIII, very impressive man. I have a JS1000 and use a GT-8. I'm desperate to know what you are using for your delay and reverb. The dreamy delay you are getting at 00:27 in the video is mind boggingly good. Please share what you are using to get that sound.
Well, it's nothing but a simple mono delay and some hall reverb together.
You might want to try to turn down the treble on the delay, so that the echo repeats doesn't sound exactly like the dry signal, if you know what I mean? Do the same with the reverb if possible.
I don't remember the delay time but my guess is that it's around 430 ms or something. I usually set the reverb time so it matches the delay's last repetition.
The easiest way to describe the difference between the Fred and the Breed is to look att the tone chart on the dimarzio site. The Fred has: Treble: 5,5 Mid: 6 Bass:5 And the Breded has: Treble: 5 Mid: 9 Bass: 8 IMO the Breed as the same rich harmonic overtones that the Fred has, but it adds alot of mids which was what I missed with the Fred. It really works well with the Paf Joe in the neck position. In time I'll try the Breed Neck too.
That was beautiful... the tone comes from the fingers and you have talent... You have also captured the sound really good. How did you capture the sound?
Hey man. Your tone is inspiring! I just got a JSX and I was wondering what your settings are on all 3 channels. I saw you said you had the gain around 12 o'clock. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated. Great playing as well! Very tasty!
Hello and congrats to a really great sounding amp!
I use pretty much the same settings for both the crunch and the ultra channels. Treble is 10 mid 9 and bass 10.
It really makes a great difference if you just have them at 12 o'clock or all the way up. It sort of pushes the preamp section.
You might also try to keep the channel levels low and crank the master or vice versa. You get totally different overall feel that way. Presence/Resonance... it's up to your taste and how your cab sounds. ♫
dam dude nice playing you actually demonstrate the magic on playing guitar usually people go super fast that they dont know what there feeling but man thats great on how you play
Ja, det är inte omöjligt att det kommer något sånt med, kruxet är bara att det är ett "vanligt" coverband och såna finns det ju hur många som helst av... Ska se vad jag kan göra!

Any idea how the JSX combo amp is compared to the head?
loofahbox 1 year ago
Great playing mate! Awesome Tone. I have a Mesa Lonestar and I need pedals to get that drive and sustain on the lead channel! Right out of the amp that JSX is killer! Is that the 100W or the 50W JSX? Does it have a master volume? How do you like the JS1200? Again, great work man. Andrew.
andrew6string 1 year ago
The JSX has a serial or a parallel loop? Nice tone!

Where you from ....... Nice playing ..... I saw in another vid you had a "Great White North" shirt on ....... Would love to get together and jam a few ....
cptjester61 1 year ago
Nice playing man...I was wondering what your pedal board set up is? I have a jsx and I'm running a rivera 4x12 with v30's in it, but I haven't found that perfect pedal set up yet. I really dig your tone and sustain, and was wondering if you could tell me what your set up looks like? Thanks man!
bigsybaby3 1 year ago
@bigsybaby3
That's easy - none! Except for an Alesis Midiverb4 in the amp's loop (for delay, chorus & reverb). Other than that it's just the amp itself.

PLEASE ANSWER RELI NEED TO KNOW!
Davo3752 2 years ago
Hey man, thanks for watching my video!
CedricIII 2 years ago
Thanks for the help and replying you say you have goten rid of the JSX how why?!?!? =O
Davo3752 2 years ago
Because I didn't like the sound of it, nothing else. The JVM suits my needs much better. But the JSX is a great amp, it cuts through any mix without sounding too harsh or something. But the lack of cleaning up with the guitar volume was too much for me. I really need an amp that cleans up well...
CedricIII 2 years ago
Is the clean anygood is it a crisp think clean sound??? and was the distorsion good im after a reli warm think dirty sound was is like that???
and thanks for all the help so far!
and i been meaning to say AMAZING PLAYING MAN!!!
Davo3752 2 years ago
It's really hard to explain how it sounds, you've got to try it for yourself.
The clean channel is really clean. You can't get it to break up and be crunchy, or at least not until your ears start bleeding cause of the volume that I't would take to distort...
I think the video captures the distortion sound really well, so what you hear is what you get.
Of course you can get harder sounds too, cause the active EQ is really effective.
CedricIII 2 years ago
@CedricIII iv got my peavey jsx now its awsome but i need help i have a vox satchurator, a boss dd7, a boss CS3 and a electro harmonix pog what order would you put that in and what sould go in the fx loop

I know is a good amp but not for metal eh? Metal like Pantera
Giancarloflying 2 years ago
It plays metal just fine dude. This thing's a monster. There is tons of gain and it's super loud, cuts through the mix, and its got an active EQ.
Like this guy said though, the footswitch is crap. I wish that it had more options.
buckster7777 2 years ago
wow is that Joe Satriani's amp. It sustains for DAYS!

JSX is pure sex. One of the best amps out there, and amazing cleans. Nice recording quality by the way.
nowayride 2 years ago
did the crunch channel respond well to turning down the volume knob on the guitar and having more of a classic rock sound while maintaining sustain?
nvm i think your video just proved it as i typed
topperspoppers 2 years ago
Yeah, you know, it did maintain the sustain, but it didn't clean up. That's why I traded it. I want the amp to clean up nicely when you roll off guitar volume and the JSX just didn't do the trick.
The video speaks for itself, yes! Thanks for watching!
CedricIII 2 years ago
thats exactly what i wanted to know... im looking for an amp thatll clean up as well
budda seems to be one of the best at this but they seem near impossible to track down in canada to try one... but there is one store supposedly ordering in a bunch
and have you found another amp that does that well?
topperspoppers 2 years ago
Well, I ended up with a Marshall JVM 410H. Not only does it clean up better than the JSX, but it has midi built in and a whole lot of other features... suits my needs much better.
However I sometimes miss the JSX, it's really ballsy and cuts through really well. But the foot control was really crappy when it comes to the user layout if you know what I mean.
CedricIII 2 years ago
Dude, im loving the gary more stuff!!
keep it up bro!
crazytarheel 2 years ago
Thanks, I will!
CedricIII 2 years ago
And also in response to your comment 'I won't stop playing until my hands fall off!' You should keep playing! Look at Mark Playle!!
creation23 2 years ago
What is on the foot switch for this amp? All 3 channels only or is there a reverb on off switch?
creation23 2 years ago
The footswitch has three buttons, the first is for the clean channel on/off. The clean channel blocks the other two channels - which are controlled by button number two. You toggle between the crunch/ultra channels.
The third button is on/off for the loop.
I no longer have this amp, but I found a midi foot pedal that had two programmable relay switches built in, that made changing channel on the amp and effects very simple by pressing only ONE button. Behringer FCB 1010.
CedricIII 2 years ago
Best tone and feel in the bizniz, right beside my other hero - Luke.
You should be doing this all day and nite bro! We really should be doing something like this - a blues/rock/funk-thing to really put you in front. I'm really proud and blessed to have the opportuny to play beside you.
See ya at rehearsals tomorrow!

Could you do a demo of some midiverb presets i'm really interested in buying it. How does it perform in running in front of the amp?
I have a plexi so i really would like to know :D :D
Kitarist88 2 years ago
I don't think it would sound good running it in front of the amp, unless you have a clean setting on the amp and use an OD or distortion pedal before the midiverb.
The best place for it is in the loop, but I don't think Plexis have loops, right?
CedricIII 2 years ago
so im torn dude between the midiverb and tc g-major what is ur feedback for the verb is it a solid unit?
Dreamscapevirus 2 years ago
I haven't tried the G-major, but from what I hear they are really bad quality with broken edit-wheels. But others than that I don't think they're gonna fail on you.
The midiverb4 is a cheap and reliable unit and for me it works perfectly.
I guess you have to try them both and let your ears do the choosing.... ;)
CedricIII 2 years ago
thanks very much ... yes ive heard teh g-major is very flimsy myself ...reliability is key for me at this stage in my musical career glad to hear the midiverb is solid

Thanks a lot Freric! i´m gratefull with your answer!
Fredric can you explain to me the diference between the JSX cab and the 1960 that you post to the best option to the JSX cab please and excuse me...
jrgarciavarga 2 years ago
Soundwise there is no big difference, just nuances.
The biggest difference is the price.
I would by the Marshall, save ½ the money and buy beer instead! ;)
CedricIII 2 years ago
You could (and should) be a pro session player if you aren't one already. Your playing makes me happy, and that's rare.
YofterMofter 2 years ago
Thanks!
Yeah, I would wish that too, but it's a crappy market for session players these days... plus you need to make sure you have a steady income to pay the bills and so on... you know how it is, right?
CedricIII 2 years ago
Yeah you're right about that, except the Chosen Ones. And I bet they have well trained and highly muscular tongues by now.
YofterMofter 2 years ago
Aside from the great tone .. it's refreshing to see someone using great phrasing in their solos ... instead of the typical 'wank fests' that are so prevalent on Youtube ... sounds to me like someone is quite Lukather and Carlton influenced ... lol .. .the tune at 4:08 in particular .. sweet Luke'isms dude .. the Rosanna type over bends at 4:56 ... love em ... Great upload !!!!
LifesonFan4Life 2 years ago
Hey man... thanks!
You're right in your observations, Luke and Carlton have been very big influences on me and my playing in the past... I like to keep things melodic, people seem to enjoy that which makes me glad! Feels a bit weird to have your playing analyzed though, *lol* ♫
CedricIII 2 years ago
I've been playing guitar long enough to recognize some riffs that even I use .. lol .. Your a great guitarist by the way !!!and even Steve Lukather will admit his mentor was Larry Carlton .. I've been listening to those cats forever
LifesonFan4Life 2 years ago
Just take a look at all those Yngwie copycats... ;)
CedricIII 2 years ago
Congratulation Fredric, Excellent tone and playing! what cab are you using with the jsx? The Peavey JSX?
jrgarciavarga 2 years ago
Yes, that's right, it's the JSX straight 4x12 speaker.
It has a great feature, a DI-out, speaker simulated output, so you can take a cable and connect it straight into a mixer without a microphone. I've used it several times and I get compliments for my sound all the time.
Tested a lot of different speakers with the JSX and I think that Celestion G12T75 is what sounds best with the JSX.
I traded the JSX for a Marshall JVM 410H. Still have the speaker though...
Thanks! ☺

CedricIII 2 years ago
great tone bro. Runnin a couple jsx's in stereo w/a Gforce works great.
jbeTV1 2 years ago
What power tubes do you have in the JSX. I just re-tubed mine with JJ EL34 Hi Gain option. And they sound alot alike! I have a Silver Jubilee on the way and am thinking of selling it, but I found you on YouTube and played my jsx today at high volume, I think I'll keep them both and see what they sound like in stereo!! Great vid and playing as always man!
aenima138 2 years ago
Thanks!

Would it be possible to add text comments to see which pickup you're using in which section?
nicoooh 2 years ago
Very impressive! Sweet tone and playing. I'm looking for replacement pickups for my JS100. That Breed/PAFJoe combo seems to be a good choice. Are you trying different ones now or do you think this is it?
nicoooh 2 years ago
Thanks!
No, I'm happy with how they sound, so I don't see the reason to try different pups, but you never know...
One thing that can make a big difference in how a pickup sounds, is how far from the strings the pickups are.
I'd like to try a Breed Neck too...
CedricIII 2 years ago
Nice, what channel on the JSX are you using here?
stchrismusic 2 years ago
I'm using both the crunch and ultra channels. I set them to match volume wise. You know... the crunch channel is a really good solo channel too.
I wish the amp had two master volumes which would have made it a six channel amp practiacally, but you can solve that problem anyway so...
CedricIII 2 years ago
Love the clip, great playing, I love my JSX as well.

21fretsalute 2 years ago
CedricIII, very impressive man. I have a JS1000 and use a GT-8. I'm desperate to know what you are using for your delay and reverb. The dreamy delay you are getting at 00:27 in the video is mind boggingly good. Please share what you are using to get that sound.
cleremond 2 years ago
Well, it's nothing but a simple mono delay and some hall reverb together.
You might want to try to turn down the treble on the delay, so that the echo repeats doesn't sound exactly like the dry signal, if you know what I mean? Do the same with the reverb if possible.
I don't remember the delay time but my guess is that it's around 430 ms or something. I usually set the reverb time so it matches the delay's last repetition.
Hope it helps, and thank you very much!

Hey man. Your tone is inspiring! I just got a JSX and I was wondering what your settings are on all 3 channels. I saw you said you had the gain around 12 o'clock. Any help you can give is greatly appreciated. Great playing as well! Very tasty!
krevehall 2 years ago
Hello and congrats to a really great sounding amp!
I use pretty much the same settings for both the crunch and the ultra channels. Treble is 10 mid 9 and bass 10.
It really makes a great difference if you just have them at 12 o'clock or all the way up. It sort of pushes the preamp section.
You might also try to keep the channel levels low and crank the master or vice versa. You get totally different overall feel that way. Presence/Resonance... it's up to your taste and how your cab sounds. ♫
