2007 is the last year that the NJ Devils were a competetive team (I believe). They still had guys like Gionta, Madden, Gomez, Brylin and Rafalski. The Ottawa Senators were just too good at the time (well at least in the East) however. This team still could'v beaten some other eastern teams. Like Islanders, Rangers, Thrashers and the young inexperienced version of the Penguins (the 1 that Ottawa beat in 5). The 2010 version of the Devils would've lost this series (to the TB Lightning).
