im gonna buy one of these for my ranger and put 2 12s in it but i got a extra 100w amp i wanna hook 2 6x9 and tweeters up to will the actually play or just the bass? cause i have no clue i might not even use the 6x9 but the tweets definately anyone know?

@robertlugo213 ok so try different outputs the bottom one on my cda 9886 is the subwoofer outputs, but im not sure keep trying till you find it can't be too hard, hope this helps

how do you adjust the bass and treble on it I just bought one and I can't get it to sound the way I want...

@jdtmxz800 you can't adjust 'bass' and 'treble' on the 9887 per say.. what you can do (which I think is even better) is manually adjust frequencies, by selecting frequecies and setting the peaks and dips the way you want it.

Or you can just trade with me for my 9886, which allows you to adjust bass and treble..

AM/FM is not as good as the CDA-105 that i had previously owned but the features of this deck far our way the bit of static that i get and the pricing on this is great right now .

@pt1players ... no.. if you do, it's most likely the vehicle's antenna... how was your reception on the factory radio? Alpines and Pioneers in my opinion offer the best am/fm reception..

just got one and I love it...... lol and i got mine for 180 dollars used, the customer thought his zune was an ipod and had it uninstalled the same week but threw away all the literature :D

@notexactlyghetto ... I have the 9886, and I absolutely love it.... I wish I dropped the extra $100 though.. for imprint alone it's worth it.. not to mention all the cool color schemes

That deck looks pretty decent, but personally I would still have bought the 9887 over any deck out there for the crossover feature which everyone has failed to touch ground on.

Alpine knew exactly what they were doing when they made this deck, a 7 band EQ, built in (very customizable) crossover and EXCELLENT sound quality makes this deck a steal.

Just be sure to shop online for it, a dealer in town had it for $499 where as I ordered mine for my birthday for $280.

installed this deck into my car last night. fantastic piece of equipment with a LOT of features. may not be suitable for users who are not knowledgeable in audio.

it's great, only gripe is you can't change bass and treble in simple terms without going into the EQ shit.

but with the IMPRINT unit you can just change bass and treble,

it would be a huge issue since treble and bass need to be adjust to suit the hearing. if without imprint unit do you reconk to buy?

well, if you can't use the factory eq settings and are that interested in messing with bass and treble manually probably not. but SQ with the imprint unit is unbelievable

u can get it to sound good (but not great).

if i had to advise, i'd say: the single most important factor is setting your time alignment.

then equalize by cutting frequencies that sound too loud. then enable the media expander.

for quick bass/treble adjustments, i change the media expander preset. it's easier than adjusting the EQ... and also cause i dont like to mess with my EQ.
