The cameraman probably isn't to blame. The director is telling the various cameramen, through their headphones, what shot he wants, and then picking the shot that makes it to he broadcast. (The cameraman's probably thinking, "Why does that dumbshit have me on Denny Dias (the guy comping chords) instead of Skunk (the one who is soloing)?).
@DanimalRegina Steely Dan has a 13 piece orchestra and that includes three back up singers, now they have 1 trumpet, 2 sax, 1 trombone, 2 pianist, 3 back up singers, 2 guitarists, 1 drummer, and 1 bass
@DanimalRegina The one guy in the middle is David Palmer who sang lead on several songs of the first album and sang lead on "Do it Again" on that tour. (He's the guy who sang "dirty work". On the first album the drummer Jim Hodder sang lead on the song Midnight Cruiser. David Palmer left Steely Dan during the recording of their second album. By the time the second album's tour was done Steely Dan ceased to be a group and became Fagan & Becker's studio thing.
@dees933 Im 13 and have loved the dan since i was 3 and have seen them on tour twice, one in Seattle and one in Vegas, just love them man, they killed in Vegas.

Why don't they just bring back The Midnight Special? These are so great!
blandmobile 1 month ago
@blandmobile Because they wouldn't have anyone to guest. All the "music" now is produced mechanically in the studio.

Strange set up for a band. The one guy not playing an instrument is only singing backup. Still awesome though.
