  • Hahahahaha they forgot to put in the "I" ahaahah

  • 1:39 Damn! Forgot to put the "I"

  • this looks awesome! and as a future Marine i am hoping to get stationed in Japan! and i cant wait!

  • Unfortunately the Japanese dont share the same enthusiasm you do, I heard Marines are going to move to Guam, Okinawa is not as much Japan as it is a small island with tons of Americans on it.

Unless you get stationed witht he Navy at Yokosuka in Tokyo, or the Air Force at Misawa (Hella North) or Yokota (Tokyo)

As a Marine you will see some interesting countries.. Bring some sunscreen.

  • As in the ska.. not so much the strange cowboy hat band.

  • Great music!

  • The Top Gun referance totally made me laugh!! Funnel cake? in Japan? OMG!!!

  • Damn it Cooney, TopGun is the Navy, not Air Force!!

    I love the Japanese band~!

See, I don't know why you didn't think of this sooner, I mean, especially with military family (about Taco Bell being on base that is ;P)

  • Sometimes he even SOUNDS like David Schwimmer.

  • it's like Kansas, but in Japan.

Ok, yes I can attest living in Kansas, some parts out west are pretty open.

  • NOT WORST THAN ANT EATER

  • ha ha, that band actually was pretty good.

  • Did you realy eat a monkey???!!! That's worse than eating the whale. lol.

  • That "ZZ Top" song really isn't that bad.

  • Awesome!! I love the name of the song by B.B Boogie, LOL hahhaah!!

  • A little slice of Americana.

  • There's a Taco Bell in Yokota Air Base!

  • That is true. If you ever get a hankerin' for Taco Bell, make friends with someone in the military... they can get you on base and you can get you're chalupa fix.

  • For the last sixty years Japan has spent on average less than 1% of its GDP on its defense forces. Most Japanese are aware that their economic recovery after the second World War was in large part due to Japan being under the umbrella of the American military.

Sure no one wants a bunch of American soldiers in their country, but most Japanese citizens are aware that their country has become the second largest economy in the world because of their close relationship with the good 'ol US of A.

  • Losing the war was probably the best thing that could have happened to them. When they lost all their industry and when their cities were raised to the ground, the US basically rebuilt them into some of the most modern areas on earth at that time. Brand new buildings, industries, infrastructure, and factories that were even newer than the ones in the USA.

Of course the cost of human life was high, but that was WW2, the worst war in human history. Everyone suffered in one way or the other.

  • u Should have done a stage dive lol

  • huh can you tell me in detail? cause I dont understand what you just said to my question?? thanks

  • My husband and I are stationed at Misawa AB, Japan and we have an Express Taco Bell! :)

  • why doesn't the japanese have no say in the U.S being there?

  • A little event known as WWII.

  • I was feeling that band! they were good

  • Lolz second hand testosterone

  • It can't be hotter than Texas. ...Can it?

  • My family was stationed there and I went to high school at Yokota (many years ago). Its was good seeing the air base again, I miss living there. Thanks for posting the video. I remember the freindship festivals, the base was packed with visitors, lots of fun Do they still have the USAF Thunderbird show?

    Music is generally nice.

  • generally.

  • HAHA!

there's a taco bell in there btw. its inside the bx, you probably couldn't go all the way there but yeah. hehe, i probably passed by you like 20 times at that friendship festival!

  • Yokota!! Interesting

  • haha, "second-hand testosterone"...that's a first.

  • Got to love the ZZTop cover.A+++

  • "There used to be a Taco Bell in Nagoya as late as 2000 but I don't know if it's there now. It was expensive (like 379yen for a taco supreme) and I only went there twice. There were other places in Nagoya that had much better tacos."

I copied this from a forum, I know Nagoya isn't tokyo.. But hey, beggars can't be choosers =P

  • life's not so bad when u have cooney on the tube

  • I concur.

  • I went to that. It was fun. I had a funnel cake and a Taco.

  • I like the band playing. Good heavy bass line and drive to the music. I'd go see them if they were in my area.

  • I'm kinda starting to like the band too >.> I woulda gotten a funnel cake as well

  • Dude, there MUST be a Taco Bell SOMEWHERE in Tokyo!!

  • Not really. If there is one it's VERY well hidden.

  • hahahaha 3rd testical

  • "Reuters - Police in Japan are investigating allegations that four U.S. Marines raped a 19-year-old Japanese woman, media and officials said, the latest episode to plague the U.S. military's relations with local communities."

    Friendship my ass!!

  • Those are marines for ya.

  • You German or a Nazi! Nazi my ass bitch!

  • Bad stuff will happen anywhere. Not saying that this is acceptable by any means but ya, bad people do exist.

  • so i kept my mouth shut until now about kansas. well i have done extensive reasearch and tried to find a japan place within the entire state, the closest i got was in wichita Kansas and i went to a japanese steak house.

  • How was the steak?

  • kind of crap. i have had better steak.

  • funny you mention this, i'm actually from wichita. i'm assuming the place you went to was the kobe steak house. other than that i know of a couple japanese restraunts in kansas city, but yeah pretty small selection in this area as far as japanese food goes.

  • it was better than ryans steak house but they use instant everything for a 4.99 eat until you aer stupid buffett. in hays it is only 271 miles to KC so japanese food is pretty low on the list of things to do.

  • lol! i went to Yokota Air Base loL! i competed some sports with their american high school when i was attendin american school in korea

  • hey i'm surprised i'm not in any of those shots cuz i was there for both days of the festival! but there were a lot of people this year. but that's totally cool- someone's actually vlogging about our base :P

PS there was a taco bell at the YCC. hope you got your fix!

  • Monkey tacos sound tasty

  • haha you looked happy taking a bite out of that burger

  • Sooo, did the Japanese nationalists enjoy "Friendship Festival" and B.B. Boogie?

  • Thank you for reply my video. Your video is interesting but I can not understand your speaking because my English listening skill is very poor.

I want to your comment in my video.

  • get it straight, it's 'Merica, man!

  • Very cool. I never heard of B.B. Boogie before, but they do sound pretty good. :D

  • Great post! Just wondering if you've ever been to the "ninja house" it has loadsa secret doors and hidden tunnels, I sooo wanna go there!

  • I really liked the sign in the background that said, "have a drink" have a plan! Maybe a new slogan for our drunk drivers here in the states! Maybe that band sounded better when you got home because you had a good ass time. I thought they were pretty cool. Glad you had a great time. I'm sure you loved the whole experience. Take care.

    Greg

  • ok my comment magically disappeared, and i'v forgotten wat my question was.....

  • Good one, music was a little loud compared to your talking but eh.

    Keep the vLogs Coming!

  • where the girls at?

  • i like how the kids were practicing their bazooka maneuvers... just like back home! course i'd never know, i've only heard that of your great country. i just thank my stars we're neighbors. thank you, stars.

  • maybe were your roots that make you go for the burger first, you know been in "america" do as an american, but i bet that was a pretty good taco

  • Root Hogs or Die, Where did you hear that? I used to in a Army platoon whose motto was "Root Hog or Die"

  • Wasn't that the guy from the Country and Western festival ? nice work once agian ..

  • you should make a how to: vid on cooking Mexican food. That way you finally get some and its not to expensive.

  • wow, you posted alot ^-^ another great vid, always makes my day!

  • Awesome clip of Yokota's friendship festival, I'm going there in 09' so maybe I'll see you there.

  • word RaGeorge! hear hear!!

  • i'm totally lovin this video!! I could watch it again for sure!!

  • ROFL "Probably soaked in so much second hand testosterone, i might have grown a 3rd testicle" haha, nice vid man

  • hahaha tokyo cooney i would send u a taco bell taco but u'll have to pay for the shipping lol. watch for my video reply, im going to put one up soon hahaha

  • Aww, you had a bad toco.. Lol

  • What are the differences in American and Japanese style portapotties? Portapotties..?....portable bathouses?...anyways...

  • Let's just say if you have bad knees, you'd want to stand in the line forming in front of the Western style PortaSan...

  • LOL!

    Woah, so subtly put lol.

  • Ours in America are a hole. There, they probably have a hole that you stradle. Messed up huh? You could slip. OHHHHHH nasty! Have you ever seen a japanese toilet? Look it up on the internet. Stained shoes dude. Everytime.

  • LOL.

I was thinking the same thing about slipping in.

  • Oooo moon bounce.

Maybe you can find their CD in the 100 Yen shop, lol.

  • Wow I just realized that food choices for me in Japan will be very limited due to the fact that I'm a vegetarian...

I wonder how many places have vegetarian alternatives?

  • Yes... though historically due to buddism Japan has many vegetarian traditional dishes... Tofu etc. There are few readily available in restaurants. Check out user thedailyenglishshow. She is a vegan who lived in japan and every sunday showed how to cook something vegan in japan! Great videos... check them out.

  • okay, thanks alot!

  • Okay T.C. I have a proposition for you...I'll trade you Taco Bell for that bands CD!...Let me know! By the way I gotta know, what's the difference between the American latrines and the Japanese ones!?

  • About 16 inches...

  • Nah, your kiddin right!? I mean, look at the video and then pause it at 3:11 they are all the same height. The only difference that I see is the signs are a little lower on the Japanese ones. Maybe different inside?

  • You have absolutely zero idea what I'm talking about.

    Funny!!!

In the Japanese style PortoSan, you "squat" to do your business. In the Western style (I refuse to call it American), well, I don't have to to tell ya, do I? Thus, the 16" (vertical) difference...

  • Oh, oops! Haha! Thanks for clearing that up! LOL!

  • /watch?v=2TCyF78V3SQ

This is a video by user Zenhill that will explain all.

  • My dear lord - more than 800 views in the first 20 hours of posting. I think it high time YouTube started reimbursing you for your vLog efforts! 5 stars for you my friend!

  • That would be nice.

  • If you can convince someone to franchise Taco Bell to you in Japan, tell them that I'd be quite keen on franchising it here in New Zealand. Otherwise I'll come and manage your store - qiero Taco Bell?

  • I'm sure somewhere ZZ to is so happy that he made that song just for them. Good times, haha.

  • I added that part of the vid just because I thought that shout out was so genuinue and honest. A japanese ZZ Top tribute band... what could be more... well... yeah.

  • HAHA 5 stars!

  • mexico in japan....... ha ha ha ha ^^

  • That band...uh, I'm not sure what I think. Catchy but...NOT catchy.

So, no Taco Bell then? :(

  • No taco Bell... :(

  • Cool... but then again I live in america so you know it's become worse than bland where I'm coming from.

  • Another cool vid! sheer genius dude! especially liked the part at the end where the kids in karate outfits moved to dat song dedicated to ZZTop! 5 stars dude, really awesome!

  • What's the difference between Japanese style outhouses and American style? The Japanese ones are cleaner?

  • Haha, oh my gosh. The band is...eh. xS

  • Finally a japanese band that doesnt suck!

(no Offense to Japanese People but singing isnt thier strong point.)

    haha a third Testical

    this wasnt my favorite episode

    but it was pretty good

  • I'm NOT trying to start an argument here, just stating somthing. There are a lot of really good J-Rock bands out there in my humble opinion. :D

  • eh

the reason why I said that is because all I have heard are really bad ones

    except Duran grey

  • hehe, yah Dir en grey is crazy live.. I really like Gackt, and Miyavi is always entertaining. Malice Mizer is long gone but is fantastic. There are a bunch more but I don't want to bore :P

  • That seems like a pretty cool event. I liked the classic Chevy convertible there. :)

  • cool

  • My BF was just talking to me about this few days ago. He's stationed at Yokota AF right now. he was guarding around with a m16 the first day then he was doing entry guard the second. He was telling me about how his friends said to beware of the "backpack" girls who dress all...revealing. They're hoping to get lucky with the white military Americans. Need i say less what's in those backpacks! hahaha

  • Yeah there were a fair number of "Im here to meet a serviceman" looking gals. Like fleet week in reverse.

  • Yeah, let's be real careful not to fall prey to those Japanese version of "Puget Debs" (to borrow the term from drill seargent Foley) Because they can and will trip you up...

  • Third testical... You're a riot, Cooney! A fucking riot! :-P (Dane Cook is speaking through me for some reason.) As far as Taco Bell goes, I see someone had the idea of sending you a "Taco Bell kit". I'd just like to say, I've put a taco in an envelope. It's not a good idea. Why don't you go around and collect signatures for a petition and send it to Taco Bell? Surprisingly, I've done that too.

  • I plan to be Japans first branch manager.

  • You can hook me up with those Crunch Wraps. You probably haven't heard of them yet, but they're the shit. Everything you love about Taco Bell, wrapped up tight so it doesn't spill on your lap as you're driving.

  • 'Love those Karate students doing karate katas to a song dedicated to ZZ Top :)

  • You know, listening to you lament about Taco Bell (grimace) almost makes me want to send you a Taco Bell kit. You can buy them in the grocery store now. It's a box with taco shells, taco seasoning, salsa, etc... everything you need to make the Taco Bell experience complete. Well, that is, everything except the pimply teenager who gets your order completely wrong. *grin*

  • Please send me the Taco bell kit.

  • *laughs* Well, guess I'll be taking a little trip to the post office to talk with the fine folks there and find out how to send Taco Bell kids to Japan!! And exchange email addys with you, so I can get your address!

    Love,

    Auntie

  • another good vid! Peace!

  • I am so proud of you, you actually ate a non-Taco Hell Burrito! Was it good? I'll have to check out Friendship Day sometime. The Segway looked fun.

  • It was damn good. But the meat had the consistency of a junior high school cafeteria sloppy joe.

  • I miss Mexican food. I heard there is a good place in Daikanyama. I will have to check it out. I suppose I could just make it myself, but its not the same and I don't want to pay 5x what I should for the can of beans.

  • interesting, i still don't get why that one guy was wearing a cow boy hot, but anyways thanks for the vid, keep em' coming ^^

  • I eventually came to the conclusion that he must've thought it very American to wear the cowboy hat. Because all Americans wear cowboy hats, of course.

  • Kind of off topic, but why is it so damn rare to see Japanese wearing sunglasses? I'm aware of the high belief that the eye's show someone's true emotion and that "the eyes are the window to the soul", but surely that can't be the only reason. In a country where quite a few people go to great lengths to avoid the sun, as if they'd melt and die, they ignore any thought to wear sunglasses to protect themselves further.

  • Sunglasses are still associated with the yakuza - meaning you can't trust people who wear sunglasses.

  • As Abiona says sunglasses are associated with the Yakuza. But another reason Ive heard from Japanese... in a bit of a reversal is that Gaijin eyes are overly sensitive to light. Because most japanese are brown eyed, they claim not to need sunglasses. But fairer eyed gaijin are always squinting in the sun. Same reason eskimoes dont need sunglasses despite the snow glare perhaps. Again, this is just what Im told.

  • When I saw there was a new video , I was like WOOOOHOOOOO!

  • That burger had an American look to it, so you didn't do too bad.

  • It was fair... but burgers I can get anytime. But the boyscouts were selling funnel cake. Wow! The only thing more randomthey could have had would be zepolies.
