  • I can attest to the severity of this stretch of road. I spun out in the summer on the switchback. It wasn't much fun but after the 4th try had enough momentum and traction to make the turn.

  • Hey men, I'm about to start driving for the first time. i am very excited, thanks for the video it's inspirational. Be safe my brother!

    D

  • Thats not that bad.

  • That's I always make sure to have lots of gas in the tank in the winter-time. You never know how long you'll have to wait for the plow to come by.

  • you made it the worst part, would have been just as well as to keep goin

  • looks like nothing i have ever seen here in Florida. i think it was beautiful and thankyou for the ride :)Went to tenn once, it was fall and it was beautiful, i LOVE it.

  • where in the smokies is this? i drive up there on occasion when it snows but the roads are always closed if its that bad

  • This is SMokey Mountain on Cape Breton Island, NS, Canada - not Colorado.

  • @skirdhu9 The smokey mountains are in Tennessee, Colorado has the Rocky mountains. I take it our mountain is also called the smokey mountain. But anyway, this looks scary. I've become more shy over the years about driving in snow so I sympathize with ya.

  • @skirdhu9 sorry sir but here in Colorado, we have the rocky mountains not smocky mountains lol no hate tho.

  • I have the thrill of hittin up Cape Smokey a couple times each month :)

  • What was bad was the drive up spinning the all-seasons all the way. We were on our way to get plumbing stuff at the Ingonish Home Hardware - we didn't succeed ;) Normally, we have the good sense to stay off the mountain in snow storms - but that day we were just a little stunned. Drive carefully on Smokey this winter folks!

  • That's not that bad of a drive...you gotta get some thick fog in the air and drive down it :P

  • that's either my Dad or Eric driving the plough :)

  • Definitely Eric. - Dad used to work on the Englishtown Ferry so he knows Eric well - we saw him outside the salt truck before we went UP the mountain to get plumbing supplies in Ingonish - we decided to turn back. We wont do that again - spun the all seasons all the way up in the rear wheel drive! Gotta love Smokey.

  • i love the smokeys next to my house in the winter time

  • Looks like another day on the road in the winter time here in Sweden. Nothing to be afraid of, normal.

  • Also normal in Canada - but not with all-season tires on the rear-wheel-drive light pickup ;)

  • That looks nerve racking.. good vid :)

  • That's why I stay winters in Florida. :)

  • I personally love the winter, and I love driving in storms. My father (shown here driving). Does not ;) Have a good winter in Flaaarida ;)

  • good music and vid,Im scottish and living in sweden cos of work and the winters are cold and snowy but the summers are scorchio so its all good check out my driving in snow vid aswell as others bikes offroading etc

  • WHat song is that ? I like it !

  • That's Gov't Mule - Warren Haynes' band - not sure what song it is, but yeah, great song!

  • lol everyone going down , no evidence of tracks of vehicles daring to go up.

  • We HAD just come up there - the snow plow had JUST come up there - that's how fast the snow was falling. We had snow tires front and rear and still spun and slid all the way up. Unfortunately, I didn't have the presence of mind to grabthe camera going up ;)

  • This is why I moved from CO to PHX. Even when it's not snowing, it's cold 7 months out of the year.

  • Looks slippery...u werent using all season tires I hope

  • Nope, snow tires all round, still spun the tires and slid all the way up there.

  • Thats sweet. I miss the snow.

  • Wow, that looks just like the drive from Calgary to Golden BC. My knees actually shake when I have to drive in those road conditions. Glad you guys made it safely.

  • oh wow! i live in oklahoma and its kinda like that but the trees aren't coverd in snow. but that would be cool.

  • nice.. want to have snow too :-/

  • You haven't been at many snowy places, I see.

Americans are nothing but whimpy whiny farts who says, oh my god, I've been driving in snow. Where I live(Sweden) it usually is twice bad.

Perhaps I should make a movie everyday now until april:D

  • well at least one film i go to sweden all the time

  • I'm in Canada - We get plenty of snow.

  • ur so stupid sweden sux

    its dry and cold

you wanna see snow move to Denver Colorado dumby

  • SHH, no more anti-nationalist talk. That's what's wrong with the world. Particularly the US. Too much fear and talk, not enough helping and understanding. Work on that...

  • I wonder how dmccoig did in geography class .. willing to bet not very good LOL

  • It was an honest mistake. They're listening to Southern rock and the first guy to talk had a southern accent. The Great Smokey Mountains are famous in the US. No one here would know Smokey Mountain because it has no significance to us.

  • That accent is a Cape Breton accent. Similar in some respects to the souther accent mainly because of the influence of people who were displaced to Louisiana area in the 1700s from Nova Scotia.

  • Wow! He sounded like one of ours! LOL!

  • if you like to see polish mountains, check my video from Tatra Mountains.

  • I thought it would be about the Great Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, USA.

where is this mountain in Canada?

  • The mountain is on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada - on the Cabot Trail.

  • big deal, try living in northern ontario

  • And that my dear, is why I moved to East Texas--

  • Also, notice the song line in the background on that Warren Haynes song... "As far as you lead I will follow" Coincidence....

  • I can't help how much snow we got!! lol You should've seen the ride UP that mountain - I didn't have the presence of mind to grab the camera...

  • Heh... It's not that bad.

Where I live... It's twice as bad... Snow is at like 1 ft already haha.

  • Nice vid dude, looks scarey to drive on snow!! :-)

  • that's what it looks like where I live. there was like cars in the ditch and stuff.
