@rorrt I agree, some big commercial companys just re-acidify the wine to fool people into thinking it has "crisp fresh fruity" characteristic, its a method that in my eyes is very wrong, but thats how they make their business.
However, I think you may be confused as to what they mean by "cold". He means you can cool it down so it radiates a coolness, hence why they call it a "summer wine". Wines made from Pinot Noir and Gamay are usually the ones can be served "cool" if you wish to.
So funny Sandy. A few years back I was at Spark's Steakhouse in NYC. Odererd a bottle of Mondavi Cab. It felt like they just removed it from the top of a radiator. I asked for an ice bucket. The waiter said he would get fired.
I told him the bottle was way to warm and the alcohol would overpower the fruit. I said just give me the damn bucket and I'll take the blame.
Ok the host is a little annoying, but I like Sandy. His knowledge is great. I like how he lets us know about the myths that go around regarding wine tasting. I like that it is about the pleasure of drinking wine and that you don't need to be snobby to enjoy tasting wine.

I tell people at work that I'm on a quest to find a $9-$14 bottle of wine that tastes like it cost $300. They laugh at me, yet I still haven't given up.
I honestly don't get why all these wines I've been buying taste like piss. I mean like what's the big deal about taking a quality grape seed and nurturing it ... and selling it at a sensible price?
This video was really pointless. Not informative at all. After watching them drink the wine and talk a lot of bullshit, they came to the exact same consensus as what they said at the beginning of the video.
This woman is not interested in this guy at all, she rambles on forever about what he is like and then as soon as he starts to speak she's more interested in the other woman and the glasses etc. she just speaks over him and looks away from him. Typical scenario of a talented person and someone there to interview who knows less but takes over. mccooke co uk
i like how she asked a question then turns around and demands a glass of wine right in the middle of his answer. there's a fine line between wine affincianado and alcoholic and she's deffinately crossed it...
I went from disliking this vid (I almost clicked away from it) to laughing out loud. Some of the captions ("Lovely, Umm") were hilarious, and are we sure the host hadn't been doing some imbibing before the cameras started rolling? ("How old were you, Sandy . . . ", etc.)
I think the host went in there hung over.. Ya shes ready to drink

Red wines that are served cold, never work, very undeveloped on the nose, and especially on the tongue.
To me its like beer, always at room temp. even white wine always at room temp.
I think the reason all the producers that kick out 1,000,000 bottles a day have "Serve cold" on the label, is to disguise the bad taste.

Wow, after watching podcasts like Wine Library TV with Gary Vaynerchuck, these types of shows seem so tame in comparison!
