  • Kissinger was part of the real government, the one that is not elected, that's why it didn't affect him.

  • @larrypetree what planet are you living on? lol

  • Wonder what we would think of other Presidents if such conversations were revealed ... ???? Nixon was a tragic figure yes, but also a very good President who stood up to the liberal eastern elite establishment, and beat them almost every time. In the end, it wasn't his enemies that brought him down, despite their claims, it was himself. Richard Nixon was no different than any other President and judging from what we know about others, not as bad as we think.

  • Going, going, GONE.........YEA!!

  • Hunter S. said it best:

"He was a cheap crook and a merciless war criminal who bombed more people to death in Laos and Cambodia than the U.S. Army lost in all of World War II, and he denied it to the day of his death. When students at Kent State University, in Ohio, protested the bombing, he connived to have them attacked and slain by troops from the National Guard."

  • its haldeman

  • "[The New World Order] cannot happen without U.S. participation, as we are the most significant single component. Yes, there will be a New World Order, and it will force the United States to change its perceptions."

-- Henry Kissinger, World Affairs Council Press Conference, Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel , April 19th 1994

  • @procommenter One day after Nixon suffered his stroke.

  • "Halderman should step up like a man..." and take the fall for me. What a coward.

  • Kissinger reminds me of The Emperor.

  • Kissinger is as evil as Nixon.

  • Nixon was backed into a corner, and you can tell the guilt was getting to him. He didn't want to go on serving with this on his conscious.

  • there were about 90 tape recordings that I made on the advice of my SAC attorney in Arizona --wonder what happened to them? Honey Siegal

  • "...good men..." "...do the right thing..."

Hanging by their murderous, lying necks would have been too good for these pigs.

Kissinger ought to be fed to piranhas, to be eaten slowly...for weeks.

  • typical putting the blame on everyone else but himself

  • wowie, you posters are lunatics....all of this is ancient history...all of them were full of themselves...try to picture them as 4 year olds [I'm taking my ball and going home]...that's how they all act.....every last one of them.....BUT it's really the best kind of government in the world......

  • LBJ regretted Vietnam also

  • LOL @ kissinger saying "it was a hard day for YOU" after Nixon says hard day in the general and inclusive sense

  • he sounds guilty

  • Kissinger sounded sincere, I hope it was real.

  • yes, it was so sincere

    he really cares about people

    especially us

that's why all these despots have nuclear weapons

    and cut out saviors

cause they are so nice as people

    luckily that antichrist

    666

will help you guys all out

  • LBJ! Hello! He's by far the worst.

  • On some things, but he had to go against Henry Kissinger, and the times were crazy. The social order was upended, in some good ways with civil rights, and some bad with fascist radicals taking over college campuses.

  • Guilt is a hard thing to live with.

    Remember: He's crying for himself.

Compare it to his callousness about American soldiers, not to mention Vietnamese civilians. Not a tear for them.

Also worth a note: Kissinger is worried if Nixon goes down, he might too. He sounded panicked when Nixon comtemplated resignation. Listen again.

  • I am sure Nixon shed many a tear for the GI in Nam. This is an interesting momment in history.

Odd that even when being investigated, he still recorded his conversations.

JFK did not do that, why? Because he was the most corrupt president in American history other than Harding and he knew it. Nixon at least did not have a guilt complex so that he could record this for our study today.

  • Actually JFK did record many of his conversations (although much more selectively than RN). However, even with this selectivity, we have conversations of him ordering a wiretap on a reporter and authorizing the coup that overthrew South Nam President Diem. These just aren't well publicized. Most of his recordings, though, are positive.

Earlier on, Nixon actually discussed destroying the tapes with Haldeman, but Haldeman did nothing about it and even convinced RN the tapes could be helpful!

  • @chukmaty wow your an idiot... jfk was so corrupt yeah because he slept around... im sure its as bad as genocide, bombing cambodia, sending cia and other thugs around to do his dirty work, hiring e howard hunt, lying to the american ppl. but then again JFK did avoid WW3 which is very corrupt, he tried to end the federal reserve, limit the powers of the cia and end vietnam. but he slept with women. and you stupid fuck jfk did record himself, theres still 1000s of hours of nixon tapes we cant hear

  • @pat442389 JFK gave his approval for the CIA to support the overthrow of our ally Diem in S. Vietnam, as his tapes show. Perhaps this is what chukmaty was talking about, along with the questionable political tactics of the Kennedy's, the 1960 election, etc. and the massive number of FBI wiretaps that his administration used, including on MLK? JFK also worked with Hunt during the Bay of Pigs fiasco (as did LBJ later), and it was he who first escalated our involvement in Vietnam into a real war.

  • @pat442389

If you do not want to look critically at JFK, fine. But launching a tyrade which is full of inaccuracies makes you look silly. JFK sunk far below Nixon out of the water when it comes to murder, assassination, corruption and personal behavior in a far shorter time.

  • @chukmaty no i mean ill give u the diem bros. thing but he offered them chances to leave the country, and i think there were many coups after diem which had nothing to do with jfk. he was pulling out of nam. ending the fed reserve. and to tell u the truth i actually think nixon was a decent president, but he was corrupted by power, kissenger and his own paranoia. jfk was a good man who had good plans for the US and the world. nixon was a political master but didnt have the moral courage to rule

  • @chukmaty Haha... No, that's inaccurate.

  • @pat442389 Nixon was sooo bad, we should have had a man like Pol Pot, that was a leader!

  • @blahblahhuh1 Nixon ended the war that two Democrats wouldn't.

  • @CherryCokeNixon go back to sleep

  • @blahblahhuh1 Kissinger didn't go down in real life when Nixon actually resigned. He survived the Watergate scandal to serve the Ford Administration.

  • Really sounds like he is crying at 4:30 when t eh talks about resigning himself , and I have never heard him shut up for so long while HK is trying to console him and rationalize why he shouldn't go.

  • I would agree, he was definitely crying.

  • This is probably where Stone derived the final scene in the Nixon movie where they're kneeling down in front of the fireplace.

  • Stone actually got that from "The Final Days", the book after "All the President's Men" by Woodward and Bernstein.

  • I hear that Nixon wrote repeatedly in a journal of some sort, "I must be good to do good." I think that he meant well, but he just had too many demons. I think this tape proves it more or less. What a sad story.

  • An incredible piece of tape

  • Wow...what an amazing historical record! The context was of course that John Dean, the President's lawyer, had jumped ship and wanted immunity to save himself and turn against the President. Meanwhile,, John Mitchell was responsible for the whole Watergate fiasco and was letting the President bear the brunt, instead of taking responsibility. Nixon is perplexed, iscolated, and distressed...hence the resignation talk. Kissinger assures him to continue the good fight.

  • Kissenger is a criminal. He was responsible for the killing of General Rene Schneider and the subsiquent murder and torture of thousands in Chile. US should ship his old ass down there to face trial.

  • Only Henry Kissenger could win the Nobel Peace prize for the illegal bombing of Cambodia. :P

  • Nixon was an arrogant privately racist lying president that defended some ridiculously foolish political espionage, but that doesn't make him a totally worthless president. He pulled troops out of vietnam and transitioned to a more air force based vietnam war and then ended the war, opened up relations with china, and practiced detente, starting dialogue and negotiation with the soviet union, and continued Kennedy and Johnson's social welfare programs. He came close to what a democrat is today.

  • And what a great man he was. Am I right?

  • No.

  • When it came to foreign affairs it was the hand behind the throne (Kissinger) who called the shots. Flirting with China was primarily targeted at pressuring Moscow, not for reasons of international harmony. Kissinger's sympathy for Nixon was crocodile tears; he was de facto 'Il Pricipe', and it was his own position he was concerned about. I strongly suspect that Watergate became such a big deal due to Washington's concern about the Hermetic nature of Kissinger's influence.

  • I find it ironic that it was Kennedy that sent troops into Vietnam and Nixon that pulled them out.

  • I wonder what the legacy of Kennedy would be if he was never assassinated.

In other words, if he had to take responsibility for his actions.

  • It would not have been pretty, he was much more corrupt than Nixon. Dude, he had one of his mistresses take money to a crime lord who was a friend of the family for crying out loud.

  • Good point! We've martyred him over his tragic assassination, but Bay of Pigs was a disaster. The '64 campaign would have been interesting. Then Ted tried to run, but we never CROSSED that BRIDGE!

  • linsey lohan is sexually inexperienced

  • Please get out of this dead president's behind.

  • This bullshit should have been against the law to record shit like this I don't give a F what anyone thinks and I don't even like politics.

  • BTFalconss- So why are you commenting then?

  • Again, NIXON TAPES.

search: "The Nixon Tapes: Jew Spies vs. Negro Spies" on youtube.

Nixon comments about how there are few negro spies. His aid suggests it's because they are not smart enough. Nixon AGREES. Nixon goes onto say that "Jews are born spies."

Nixon was a bigot. He did not base his views about blacks and Jews on facts, just prejudice and paranoia.

  • Wow, great comeback.

Would you like to, you know... actually make some kind of claim based on evidence?

  • You're missing the point. It's not that he hated CERTAIN blacks and Jews. Nixon hated and distrusted ALL blacks and Jews(Kissinger is the one exception)

"But, he made it clear that all men were created equal."

Of course Nixon put that face up in public, but behind closed doors he showed a much darker and bigoted face. I'll ask you again, have you ever listened to the Nixon tapes?

  • Nixon participated in more illegal operations than any other president, he was not a "good man" just protecting himself from liberals.

Look up your facts before you blindly defend anyone who's a republican.

Next you're going to tell me McCarthy was just a "good man" protecting himself from a communist threat that did not exist.

  • There is LOADS of evidence that prove Nixon's corruption.

Nixon was an anti-Semite, anti-black, anti-intellectual paranoid monster. Have you ever listened to the Nixon tapes? Have you ever read anything about Nixon besides that "R" next to his name that stands for Republican?

Nixon was fucking nuts and did absolutely deplorable things. There were no liberals attacking him. He was not defending himself against anyone. He was wiretapping and hiring spies to break into his opponent's offices.

  • tell me who isn't corrupt in politics.

  • Ron Paul

    The Last Real Republican

    &

    David Kucinich

    The Last Real Democrat

  • hahahaha :)

    you crack me up!

    still fall for those idiots...

  • Well it is my opinion that everyone of our presidents has been corrupt in one way or another. Nixon was the worst though.

  • for what? Watergate? hahahahaha...

  • The worst? haha, wishful thinking, but highly improbable none the less; Nixon is only the "worst" to you, because he got caught with such a scandal.

  • Well who would you consider the worst?

  • Allow me to reiterate, the fact that Nixon was caught does not denote that he was the "worst" when it comes to scandals/corruption etc; as there are many that we do not know about. Some we do know about, however, are the several Harding scandals, such as the teapot dome, which was a much larger issue than Watergate. Or what about the absolute corrupt nature of the Grant administration; and that is just limited to the Republican party! Look into these, and then tell me that Nixon was the "worst."

  • Probably Carter, the secret things he did effect us still today and have resulted in thousands of dead, what is annoying is that he still thinks he did the right thing. (all of them thought they were doing the right thing)

Essentially Nixon was wrong, but not the worst, just the one that got caught covering up other peoples direct actions.

  • Comment removed

  • Ever heard of the Ayatollah Khomeini?

Well Carter secretly made efforts to see that he overthrew the Shah.

Also his national security advisor, Zbignew Brezinky encouraged further Islamic radicalism by trying to have the Mujaheddin overthrow the pro soviet government in Afghanistan thus provoking the Soviets into war, the Soviets also felt this was a response needed to ward off what they felt was American intervention in Iran to overthrow the Shah, which did not turn out to be pro American.

  • now we work for peanuts and see by candle lights

  • he's still at it the dumb shit

  • Well Obama has not done anything corrupt yet. There are loads of people who claim he lied and cheated to get where he is but no one can ever really back it up with facts. Their main argument is CHICAGO POLITICS GRRRRR

  • you will see soon. no body is gonna remember who Bush was. Obama is gonna be the most hated and disasterous president in US history. all you gotta do is to read inaguaration speech

  • son of Carter?

  • what?

  • Carter was an inexperienced President who goofed up things. Obama is an inexperienced President who will goof up things...

  • Lincoln was inexperienced.

  • Obama is a poster boy. Kissinger is still scheming, perhaps not as exclusively as before, but his scaley hand is still working magikk.

  • 2 war criminals havin' a chat.

  • He should have had that bonfire.

  • He was one of the greatest presidents in US history, period. That motherf***** who was Deep Throat should have executed for treason along with Woodward & Bernstein.

  • Ha ha!

  • Kissinger is playing the Jewish pschyoanalyst at the end.

  • Oh bullshit.

  • no it's true! and elvis was there in the grassy knoll with a squad of martians! The magic bullet wasn't magic it was just super advanced technology! and the lindbergh baby was in the trunk of JFK's convertible!

  • Heh. I'm surprised the libs haven't put Reagan in Dealy Plaza that day tooo!

  • Kissinger WAS a total prick - they clearly both really disliked the other deep down.

  • Both worked in Nelson Rocefeller law firm. Nelson resented both of his stooges.

  • henry kissinger what a scumbag. nixon "well rather hard day wasn't it" kissinger "well it was hard for you"

  • i agree, kissinger sounds like such a prick.

  • This seems empathetic to me, not smug. Kissinger is saying to Nixon, well I recognise that it was hard for you compared to what I'm going through.
