It was like 1994, Ruby was touring with Schtum as their opening act, caught them in NYC. Happen to have backstage passes. Leslie walks in the room, scratches her belly and goes "I need a beer" and walked out.

I never got why some friends were into this back in the day, and in 2010 it sounds even worse, pretty much musically worthless, where albums by Tricky, Massive Attack, Portishead, Garbage, Curve, etc etc etc still sound fabulous. I used to live across the street from this band in Seattle on 2nd Avenue NW near Greenlake. Mark always drove a huge Van or little red mercedes and was a nice enough guy. I hardly remember seeing Lesley but I was young at the time (they moved out of Seattle in 2003 I believe)

check out "Cargo" and "Lamplight" and "Swallow"...all GREAT songs.....Ruby is one of those bands that I love because of their weirdness (kinda like Lene Lovich) but also for Leslie's awesome voice.
