@omer0073 dont worry bro no matter how long the night might seem, the day will surely come. by then i have no doubt in mind that u will change ur youtube id and write contrary comments. If u r brave enough let me have ur coordinates on this planet and we deal, otherwise stop ur stupid comments. U can fool some ppl some times but u cant fool all the ppl all the time!
@omer0073 why u don't talk about ur own shit instead of talking about the west did we ask the west to start the fight in 1961? if we were able to re bile against ethio in 60s we are more capable now to govern our own nation with whom the ppl chose
but our problem is half educated ppl like u or year 6 drop on power wat an asss
"ThousandTwoHundredandTwenty(U S $276,468,220.07) was transferred from Industrial and Commertial Bank of China to FUBON BANK HONG KONG and was deposited to the benefit of Eritrea tyrant, Isayas Afewerki and his son, Abraham Afewerki"
"The posted confirmation document also reveals that the transaction was very recent: February 24, 2009. The receipt shows that on this day, USD TwoHundredSeventySixMillionFou rHundred SixtyEight"
how ludicrous can u be???? plz stp making false assumptions because i can't seem to understand wht ur point basically is?? if it wasn't for isaias we would hv been dwelling in a realm whr da bog dogs kick ball so plz come up with a better notion!!!!!!!!!
The martyrs fought for freedom. Isaias Afewerki is the one denying the martyrs (and the rest of Eritrean population) that freedom. Isaias betrayed the martyrs and killed the brave ones that didn't left Eritrea. Anyone supporting the dictator is betraying the martyrs
@MarginalMedia you said " isaias Afewerki is the one denying the martyrs( and the rest of Eritrean population) that freedom". The people who are leading Eritrea today have seen their brothers/sisters die next to them fighting(for 30 years) to liberate Eritrean people from Ethiopian's colony, which was first supported by the USA and then by USSR, two superpowers at the time. Correct me if i am wrong but this might have been the longest war fought for freedom in Africa. PURE DETERMINATION !!!!!!
@fitsumt@fitsumt Have you got this from this documentary? Because that is exactly what the story is about: a man that fought that war, that had his brother killed, his wife killed beside him in the trenches... and that died killed by this dictator simply becuase he viewed him as a political rival. End of story.
You show your determination and GO TO ERITREA, learn the truth of Eritrean people with your own eyes
@MarginalMedia No, i did not get it from your documentary, i got it from reading a book called "JOURNEY FROM NAKFA TO NAKFA"...i started watching the documentary and then i saw one of your comments about wedi Aforki been a dictator who is betraying the martyrs and that the Eritrean population doesn't support him, which is a ridiculous comment, lead me not to continue to watch. i will say this again, tell me which part of our leaders policy you don't like. we can have a constructive talk this way
@fitsumt Abstract? Joshua was like a brother to me. We lived together. Do you want to know about his wife that never got his body back? About his children? Do you want to know about their lives right now?...
There is no more "abstract" thing here that swalling the subreal "Serving the Truth" propaganda of the regime. How can any country serve any truth when having their journalist executed or in prison.
Do you want to know about other friend of mine: Dawit Isaac?
@MarginalMedia hey, i have been busy with school work...i will say this. you sound to me like those minority Americans who believe Obama is a Muslim or he is Kenyan, therefor he is not legitimate. you know those people who say crazy stuff.. But i will give you the benefit of the doubt and i will do my own research on joshua and Dawit... talk to you then
@fitsumt And you sound to me like someone that it is easily mislead and quickly judge other people wrongly: I am not American and I have never been in America. Yes, go on and do your own research. If you want to ask Joshua, you'll have to first ask your beloved dictator where is he buried because not even is own wife knows. And ask him to allow you to visit Dawit, in prison now for years. Ask the Swedish goverment too, he is Swedish citizen. Go on, learn the truth;-)
@MarginalMedia 2ND COMMETNT...How do you think we can fight when our own brothers have turned against us?The white man is very clever. He came quietly and peaceably with his religion. We were amused at his foolishness and allowed him to stay. Now he has won our brothers, and our clan can no longer act like one. He has put a knife on the things that held us together and we have fallen apart.” I don't think Africa is messed up for no reason.
@MarginalMedia 1st COMMENT .i DON'T REMEMBER SAYING YOU ARE AMERICAN BUT ANYWAYS, school is over now, and i will do the research. but in meanwhile here is quote from a book called "Things Fall Apart" by Nigerian author. Read this book, if you haven't already “Does the white man understand our custom about land?” “How can he when he does not even speak our tongue? But he says that our customs are bad; and our own brothers who have taken up his religion also say that our customs are bad.
@MarginalMedia 3RD COMMENT..They used religion to divide and colonize us then, now they will use freedom speech and democracy as an excuse etc.Are you following the hypocrisy of the west and Sweden. When freedom speech comes knocking at their door a journalist automatically becomes a terrorist...we have to wake up and see the world for what it is.
@MarginalMedia 4TH COMMENT.. We need to learn from our history...otherwise things will stay the same in Africa and for people who are historically oppressed anywhere in this world , just the way the interest groups want it. And i am confident through my research i will find out that the GOE has a good reason for whatever they did to Dawit and Joshua ...as they usually do. talk to you then
I am white and I love Eritrean customs. This is not a war of civilizations. This is just a dictator killing his own people, washing your brain... Most of the world don't give a damn about Eritrea, don't even know where it is... the only "interest groups" are the ones of your president wanting to stay in power as long as he pleases at all cost. Don't write nonsense, do your research about journalism in Africa
@MarginalMedia why don't you leave Eritrea for Eritreans..No one know about Eritrea..THE REST OF THE WORLD DOESNT CARE ABOUT ERITREA..LOL..
'From the point of view of justice, the opinions of the Eritrean people must receive considerations; nevertheless, the strategic interest of the United States in the Red Sea basin and considerations of security and world peace make it necessary that the country has to be linked to our ally, Ethiopia'. The U.S. Secretary of State, John Foster Dulles, 1952.
@MarginalMedia I am doing my research but Of-course you would call the suffering Africans by the west nonsense ..the first reason might be you might be a nice person and just ignorant of our history.. the second is you might be the interest group i am talking about.....EITHER WAY if you want to stand up for journalist stand up for Julian Assange and Journalist in the West and leave Eritrea alone....We will fix our own problems gradually ....YOU FIX YOUR OWN PROBLEM
@fitsumt I am not here to fight against you. My problem is exposed in this video: my Eritrean brother was killed by this man. He wasn't the only Eritrean friend I had that got killed for this man. You can call me ignorant, "interest group", or talk about other issues... I made that video and some others about Eritrea, I lived in Eritrea I worked in Eritrea... You? I'll say it again: gelemele
Go to Eritrea and live and work there instead of supporting a killer of your own people
@MarginalMedia 1ST COM. listen to us(majority of Eritreans), listen to African intellectuals ex. Nigerian author Chinua Achebe. Listen when we tell you the history Africa. Read history. Read about Hellenistic Empire, Roman empire, Persian Empire, the Axum empire, British empire etc.when you do, you will come to a conclusion nothing has changed in this world. the method might be different but exploitation remains the same. Eritrean gov. has refused to take part in this and will pay the price.
@abeshaking370 Thanks for your valuable contribution and writing the names of real Eritrean martyrs. I am fed up of dealing here with supposed patriotic Eritreans that have never set foot in Eritrea (or have been there even less time than I was), all they know about "their country" is the bullshit fed to them by the "serving the truth" propaganda of the dictator's machine and yet, from the comfort of their Western couches, pretend to fight here as if they were in a trench in Keren 30 years ago
@MarginalMedia ((LoL)) Don't worry bro, you doing a good job exposing them with facts, when all they can do is bark, curse, and cry. They are trying their hardest to hide facts and deal with their inferiority complex with agames.
I'll tell u a secret: Isaias Afewerki, the man they so adamantly worship and adore, is 100% AGAME from Tigrai, Ethiopia. His father Afwerki Abraha and Mother Adanech Berhe are both from Tigrai Ethiopia. His father is from Tembien, his mother is from Adwa.
@MarginalMedia..#1 yes, there are milions of Eritreans in the West ... I hope this will help with your ignorance…”From the point of view of justice, the opinions of the Eritrean people must receive consideration. Nevertheless, the strategic interests of the United States in the Red Sea Basin and considerations of security and world peace make it necessary that the country [Eritrea] be linked with our ally, Ethiopia.
—secretary of states of use John Foster Dulles, 1952…
@MarginalMedia cont.. #2..Now, how do you expect Eritreans to stay in Eritrea when the Ethiopians were given weapons by the USA and soviet union to kill, rape and steal Eritreans manufacturing industries...Were they supposed to stay and live like animals? Is it a crime to run away from people trying to rape you, hung you, kill your mothers, fathers and children with a bomb in your own home? Wow..how mean are you?????
@MarginalMedia cont..#3. are you saying since they are in the west, they shouldn’t care about their people back home? What a LOGIC you have here.when everybody forgot the Eritrean cause for freedom, it is the Eritreans abroad who helped their freedom fighters.this tradition is not going to die out.as Eritreans we will always stand with our people back home…I
@MarginalMedia cont. #4..I HAVE A REALLY BAD NEWS FOR U. ERIITREA IS GOING TO MAKE IT...WE ARE UNITED MORE THAN EVER. DID YOU WACTH THE INDEP. DAY CELEBRATION IN ERITREA. & ALL OVER THE WORLD? 5 MILLION PEOPLE CELEBRATING TOGETHER ON THE SAME TIME....IT WAS JUST BEAUTIFUL
@fitsumt No, I didn't watch it. I was busy filming an Eritrean wedding... in Australia. There were nearly 1000 guests, and you are right, they came from all over the world, even from Eritrea. I spoke to them, they told me how Eritrea is now. Wherever you live, you live in your own fantasy, you have probably never set foot in Eritrea. People celebrate, yes... to be out of Eritrea and alive. People keep leaving the country as soon as they can. Yes, indeed "ALL OVER THE WORLD"
@MarginalMedia lol...it makes me laugh when i talk with people who don't know what the problem of africa is and try to offer a solution...my cousin just came from Eritrea...you keep pretending you care about my family and my people more than i do...i am tired of westerns pretending to solve africans problems...go read our history if you are really a good person..and also follow our current events..and until you do that. please just listen to those of us who know our history
@MarginalMedia i have met many people like you...when asked what is 2 + 2, you say 3...and then you want to argue about calculus..my advice to you is to understand the basics first...learn, please if you care about humans, learn, learn african history.follow current events...when you understand what the problem is then we will talk about soultions...otherwise, it will be like trying to teach a first grader how to solve a calculus problem.why do you think Ethiopia is allowed to invade Eritrea
@MarginalMedia i also want you know that the Eritrean economy is the fastest growing economy in the world for this year....your ignorance of African history and current events just limit what i can say to you...so would you please ask me questions then i will respond to them....that way i will try to stay on topics you think you know something about..deal?
@MarginalMedia 2ND COM. About Dawit. through my research i found out the GOE believes, Dawit was putting the sovereignty of Eritrea in danger by revealing secret info. this took place when a country with a population of approximately 5 million was INVADED by country with a population of 80 million, Eritrea and Ethiopia respectively. Ethiopia succeeded on INVADING Eritrea b/c they had secret info. given to them by selfish Eritreans, all Eritreans know this.
@fitsumt 3RD COM. Now the GOE has the responsibility to defend Eritreans by any means necessary. this is not something new to the world. Read about Bradley Manning. Well, the deference is that GOE did whatever if did in defense/for survival, while Washington arrested Bradley Manning for revealing Iraq secret.Don't forget GOE has its own rules and laws too, AND has the right to enforce those laws. watch this youtube clip titled "WikiLeaks Release 1.0 (1/7)". it will show u the real world.

@abeshaking370 ..The word you should research is called “national security”, also the history of humans in this world, so you will wake up from dreams. You can start by reading the Greek empire, the roman empire, the Persian empire, the united states empire, the British empire etc..and then start reading how Africa was colonize, and then how African governments were and are still being overthrown by the west or how the west helps puppets stay in power with their military aids…
@fitsumt this is not going to happen in Eritrea….Eritrea is for Eritreans….Eritea is not for sell.,...tell this to your western masters…”Does the white man understand our custom about land?” “How can he when he does not even speak our tongue? But he says that our customs are bad; and our own brothers who have taken up his religion also say that our customs are bad. How do you think we can fight when our own brothers have turned against us? The white man is very clever........
@fitsumt...cont. #3... He came quietly and peaceably with his religion. We were amused at his foolishness and allowed him to stay. Now he has won our brothers, and our clan can no longer act like one. He has put a knife on the things that held us together and we have fallen apart.” By Nigerian author Chinua Achebe..thank god 99.98 % of Eritreans are capable of learning from history and current events…how does the saying goes, “fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me”
@fitsumt cont. #4...they know they can’t fool Eritreans so they sent assassins form England to kill our leaders in Eritrea..lol…Eritrea is going to make it for the sake of Eritreans, Africans and for the sake human beings in this world….and if that requires arresting traitors then be it….i wonder what the united states gov. will do if an American was found helping the soviet union during the cold war…..Eritrea has had her traitors throughout her history…
@fitsumt cont. #5...we have had traitors during the 30 years war struggle for independence, where both super powers helped Ethiopia . we have had traitors during the 1998 invasion of Eritrea by Ethiopia ….there will always be people who would value their individual gain than their people. This is the curse of Africa and what the west uses against us as Africans...i have a news for you…..in Eritrea they will be found and will face the consequences for their actioins
@fitsumt cont.#6...now go and learn how many good governments in Africa and Latin America have been and are still being overthrown by the west…then come and talk with me….would you also learn why Ethiopia is allowed to invade Eritrea by the west???????? Time to wake up...let me give you a really good advice....before you try to solve a problem, learn what the problem is first...then talk about soultions...are we on the same page?
@abeshaking370 Learn what the problem of the third world countries is, then you will get your answers why they are in jail. learn who supports puppets, overthrows gov.s., assassinate leaders in third world countries.the first stage is learning the problem, and the second stage is looking for solution. you have to take care of the first stage first.why do you think Ethiopia is allowed to invade Eritrea? why do you think Eritrea is not allowed to buy weapons to defend herself form invaders????????
@abeshaking370 you should worry about your Ethiopian brother and sister who are starving to death...Instead buying 200 tanks to invade Eritrea, that money should be used to buy food for the starving children of Ethiopia...don't worry about Eritrea..Eritreans will take care of their own problem. like they have taken care of food shortage in Eritrea. you and other Ethiopians should be worrying about feeding your people.instead of begging the world to feed you( i don't know for how many years now)
@MarginalMedia AND to stop the struggle now from nation building after all this sacrifice would be letting all those lives lost to go to waste. So, for you to pretend that you feel the pain of our martyrs' death more than our leaders in Asmara is a little disingenuous. The reason being these people fought and died for the sake of our people. And i don't know who you are referring to when you say the "Eritrean population" b/c
@MarginalMedia the Eritrean pouplation is behind their government as demonstrated on world wide demonstration held by Eritreans on diaspora to denounce the united nations sanctions. So, what i am trying to say is don't assume things, we can talk about if the polices in Eritrea are wrong or not, but to assume that all of our leaders are killers and that the Eritrean pouplation does not support their gov. is a lie and a strategy pulled out off fox news.
I agree with that greed is ruling the world and there is an exploitation of wealthy people and countries over the rest.
And Eritrea is not immune to that. What do you think is feeding Isayas fondness for expensive stylish Italian suits and wanted to be in power until he dies?
For the many ignorant, brainwashed users that comment here, here you have the comment of a member of Circus Eritrea (part 5 of A Trip to Earth)
"i use to be part of the circus eritrea, never thought that will happen to Joshua,
oche."
"hey santi,
this is oche, hope u are ok, thank you for what u done, i still upset about Joshua i can't believe sometimes that he is really dead hee was my director. love to dead his country, god bless his soil.
365. The days in a year? No, the number of Eritrean brothers and sisters I've helped to escape Eritrea. And I am aiming at helping another 150 this year.
This is for you, Ass-i-ass suckers, that feel privileged only because you are the ones in Eritrea that can access material like this film, working as spies for the dictator and torturing your fellow citizens only to get the password of their email accounts.
The time will come when you'll be accountable for all of this.
Nice try at trying to make Eri's great leader look in human but you FAIL horribly.
He could have accepted several peace solutions lol? what to give up his land? I think not!
Joshua tried asking for red cross and several countries outside for money and help.
This is whats wrong with this : Asking for ANY kind of aid in africa is like downloading a program but with that program you get TONS of spyware and shit you DON"T need! then you become a slave to your computer and it gets slow/broken.
You definitively got slow/broken by the dictator's propaganda. Go to Eritrea, meet the man, know his doings (or just keep going with your USA funky music and don't talk of what you don't know).
This dictator was trained in China and he dreams of being the next Mao Tse Tung, but he has not any Red Book, any plan for the future, (apart from being in power as long as he can)... nothing.
In the other hand, The Chinese know better. They sell arms to both Eritrea and Ethiopia
leave him men, i dont think he is Eritreans or he must be very dump for Eritrean.
You are right they forget our border now they are talking about democraci, freepress, free this free that, forget this ppl man for sure. we need to focus how we can built a free nation with our big leaders.
The heroes have been killed and betrayed. The leaders are corrupted and dictatorial. The "achievements" are just bits of information generated by the "serving the truth" propaganda machine. Read any international report to find the truth. Talk to any Eritrean coming out of the country (even returning from a holiday) to know the truth.
What doesn't fit me well is how are we going to get any "selfrelient population" when the work of our government is to keep the people misinformed and punished for trying to be in contact with the world "out there".
There is not any kind "self" development when there is not freedom of expression nor the media to facilitate that.
Why is that we don't need newspapers, Ziegereda? What's bad about them?
I think I told you before, it is all in our minds. I don't see myself as a 3rd class citizen where I live and I don't think you do yourself any favour viewing yourself that way. But if you do, the choice is simply - go back to Eritrea and see if you can be a 1st class citizen.
Be grateful for having a decent life wherever you live, for your wife having food to cook, for your children receiving an education... Is it going to make you happy to live amongst "enemies"? Isn't your mind the "enemy"?
The "heroes" that are left Ziegereda, are in prison or had to leave Eritrea. If you want to honour them, fight to satisfy their needs and concerns, not to celebrate the man that has caused all of the trouble for them.
Your cheers can't be heard in our secret prisons, your 2% is reinforcing opression, your way of "honouring" keeps killing our people. Think!
All the best to your family, work and friends, Ziegereda. All the best for your life.Everybody has a life, Ziegereda, even me. You have your priorities, I have mine. Without knowing anything about my life, how can you know anything about my reasons to write here? If you feel you are wasting your time, don't waste it. I am certainly not wasting mine.
I didn't say the world is a perfect place, Ziegereda. I won't talk much about the USA here or any other country because there are other forums for that. But to clarify your impressions of me, I'll tell you this: "I don't like and I don't trust USA politics. To the point that I think they are to blame for most of what is going wrong in the wolrd today and nothing good will come out of the USA".
That's why moaning about them is useless and reactive. Let's deal with our problems like men.
I mentioned dalakhislands, Ziegereda, because you commented in a message he sent to me. That's all. You read the insults he had written to me; if you want to give a speech about respecting opinions, maybe you should address it to him, or to yourself for that matter.
We are a dictatorship state Ziege. This video expresses it well. The liberation our martyrs gave their lives for meant a constitution, political parties, freedom of expression, democracy. That's what independence is. And since 1991 was all there for us to take. And we did take it and we did start to have it. For a short while, the time that Joshua, the journalists, the G-15, and these people lasted. These people were not criminals, traitors or whatever the propaganda machine wants to call them.
These people were you and me, Ziegereda; these people were the ones left to honour our martyrs. They were the martyrs lucky enough to make it to the end. So they knew better than you and me what they wanted and the Eritrea they wanted to build; and we had a constitution and an opinionated emerging press that was the entertainment of Martyrs and Liberation Avenue (ah, to go for a walk there back then in the 90's, when everyone had their passegio with their newspaper under the arm!)
Our brothers and sisters, Ziegereda; the ones that cared more for what they had fought, the ones that didn't run away, the ones they thought "this is where I belong and this is where I am going to express my opinion" were the first ones to disappear. Disappeared Ziegereda, disappeared. Not even a chance to be heard and trialed by the sistem and the constitution they had put in place. Don't you know of any Eritrean woman who doesn't know if her husband is alive or dead, Ziegereda?
And who has done all of this to us, Ziegereda? This is our recent past. I know our history, Ziegereda; but more importantly I understand that to discuss with you about 1952 is a privilege, a luxury, and ultimately a frivolity, that my brother, buried right now in some container underground somewhere in his homeland can't afford. You don't understand, but do you want to?
We choose our destiny. My point: if we are a dictatorship, (and it is only us to blame for that) what is that you expect the world to do for us?
The world is not such a bad place. It is full of communities and countries that respect human rights and behave in a way with its citizens that can be called "Fair", with justice. (It is also full of countries that don't know about the existence of a country named Eritrea, so no much point to include those amongst our "enemies")
But the countries that knows about the Eritrean situation and wanted to help, what are they going to do? Is it a casuality that more and more of us live overseas? Aren't you a refugee, Ziegereda? Because I am. Many countries do what they can - helping us to get out of misery and a place where human rights are non-existent (and again, humanitarian wachdog organisations, both local and international, were well established in Eritrea in the 90's and it wasn't the world who got rid of them).
The situation is the way it is, Ziegereda, and if the world could care and do more for Eritrea now is not for us to judge. You Ziegereda, your family, your work, your friends... that time you don't want to waste... aren't you grateful towards the country that is facilitating all that for you? The world out there is providing today shelter and a decent life for more than one third of our population and income for the whole country (including and above all, our goverment).
Let's respect the memory of our martyrs and history, and let's do our own homework and duty Ziegereda, that's talk about the reality of our Eritrea today and what we can do to improve it. And the reality right now is, for example, that everyone here calls me agame simply because I don't identify myself and say where I come from.
But, believe me, the ones that know the real Eritrea, the ones living there, if they had the chance to read this, they would understand perfectly - you don't go around the way I am writing to you know if you have family in Eritrea, brother. But ey! who cares if I am called agame, I know of someone who was tortured just to get his email address out of him
You are also generous with your insults towards me, Ziegereda. But you also called me "my brother". I liked that. I like it because I consider every other human being my brother (and yes, that include Ethiopians); but make up your mind. What is going to be politness or nastyness?
Well, "my brother", this comment you are responding to is clearly addressed to dalakhislands, of whom I predicted that he would end up the debate with a list of insults towards me and disappearing.. and he did. Most of the people you might identify with that's what they do.
And if you are all so sure of your opinions, why you always have to end up with nasty insults. I can't be hurt that way so it might be just the frustration of not knowing to respect other person's opinion.
yo, why don't u fucking get a damn life. don't u have anything better to do that snooping around eri videos and say shit. go suck meles's dick for all i care komal agame."
Finally, this is Dalahkislands, "farewell" mesage to me. God help us, with all these kids dreaming of war but giving up so easily after a small dialectic confrontation. To be heroes in this life you don't need a war, try fighting for justice.
"Shame on the world, we'll never forget". Stupid attitud indeed, Ziegereda! Shall we fight the whole world too, Ziegereda? Nearly half of our population can make a decent living in "the world", and instead of being grateful for it, we should hate them all? Good choice, Ziegereda, that should make live for you easier wherever you live!
We were fighting 700 or 800 years ago? So what that is it mean? That we'll be fighting for another 700 or 800 years? With ignorants like you, for whom war is no more than an action-movie, that is a possible scenario.
And you talk of shame! The one you will feel when your children have to deal with the war that you'd have left them
unresolved.
Oh God, where are the people that have fought for Eritrea? The men I encounter in the trenches, not these kids with romantic visions of war!
Whoever thinks it makes any sense to kill and get killed for generations for a strecht of land is simply because he hasn't gone through that experience. That is your problem folks, you want to talk about something you know nothing about!
The border dispute is nothing but Ass-i-ass number one political agenda to keep Eritrea under his ass.
This dispute has a very easy solution. Whoever promotes it, should be the one there fighting, with our coward leader at the front.
Where were we in 1952? What a ridiculous question! In 1952 most of us were not born yet. The question that you all keep avoiding is where are you now, in 2008. Obviously not in Eritrea, as noone writes a word about it.
I know our past Ziegereda, and I know about violation of human rights. I know because they have happened to me not that long ago. How can you all talk so much about violation of human rights in the past to justify the ones of the present?
You don't believe Joshua's story? The sad story of Eritrean journalists is well documented, not only by this video but by many other ways.
But of course, we are the lucky free ones, don't we? We believe whatever we choose to believe; and while people like you, Ziegereda, chooses to be blind, the bastard one-eyed of Ass-i-ass can keep being the king
...what US is doing is also bullshit in Kenya the elections was dishonest, but they say no everything is good no problem we support this goverment, beacouse kibaki was slave of US.
And Do u know that most african heads of states recognize meles by his nick name that the then zambian president gave to him, "THE PROSTITUTE". U know why??? guess
...and if tourists want to visit Eritrea, they do the same thing, if toursists want to visit Ethiopia yaya gogo Ethiopia is heaven Ethiopia is that and this.bullshit okay, Ethiopia is also in war with oromos,tigray....
i know you are not Eritrean but i would explein you, war is or means not only on the ground fighting, war is also economicaal sociaal... go on and go on, so on this parts Eritrea is at war.If campanys want to invest in Eritrea look what US is doing Eritrea is at war is not save blablabla...
and zirac007 i dont know sure where you are from, but i think you are agame and like you there are a lotof agames who pretend to be Eritreans, they forget who support them in the revolution war against mengustu, and they contunie attacking Eritrea with western country.
There is not war in my mind, Nakfa. And there isn't war in the mind of hundres of Eritrean and Ethiopiand I know. They are not fighting. There isn't fighting even in Eritrea. If there was a real war, a few hundres of United Nations Peace Corps troops wouldn't be able to stop it. But even our idiotic leaders understand by now that is useless to make a strech of land nothing else but a huge cemetery.
So where is this war today, Nakfa? In your mind. War is the only "made in Eritrea" product that this government has managed to export sucessfully for the last 17 years. (Sorry, I am wrong: the explotation of our past is a second product)And our government has done so with the sole purpose of perpetuating themselves in power.
There is one third of our population that knows very little or nothing (or don't want to know) of the daily lives of Eritreans in Keren or Sawa. Of their misery. All our government seems to be involved with is this "war". Al we get to know is this "war". So there we are, all in line, and ready to charge, riding on our glorious pass. So full of our pride that we are all blind. And the government knows it.
This government controls all the information coming out of Eritrea. By keeping awake the flame of war, Ass-i-ass provides us the honour of helping us to feel as if we were all martyrs, connected with our ancestors and our deepest roots. There is how he got you all by your balls. He is selling you to feel like a hero in the comfort of your house while our Eritreans brothers and sisters starve to death.
So there is where the war is, Nakfa, in the mind and doings of this government. It is a publicity stunt, with the occassional craker and fireworks (so you can keep going with your imagination and keep committed with your "patriotism ahead of anything else"). And of course, there are heaps of advantages for being "technically" at war...
... for instance, imagine, Nakfa, if there is a storm wherever you live. Wouldn't it be good to declare your area a "natural disaster" if that would attract funds and help to rebuild the area? Equally, if a country is delared "technically" at war, there are certain advantages that can be taken in the international arena; and you can easily hide all it is going on at home.
Think, for example, Nakfa in the concept of "national security". If a country is at war, it seems reasonable to have some kind of "national security" in place. Are you aware Nakfa, of the many Eritrean people that have been killed by simlply expressing their opinions, and all have being swept under the mistery of "national security"?
And well, if there is war, wouldn't it be the responsibility of any government to end it? Come on people, wake up! We had our victory in 91. The world recognised us in 93. It is 2008 now. All this affair is about justifying the control of power at home, and keeping our hearts in diaspora connected (and our money flowing in)
Why this government doesn't need to respond or being hold accountable for anything, Nakfa? Tell me for instance what is wrong with political parties? Political parties are created by the local people and aim to respond to their direct needs. What is wrong with them? Don't we trust ourselves? Why have they be forbiden?
Eritrea is in war with Ethiopia init, so what are you saying, so i support the goverment who defend my country.
ofcourse i dont say everything in Eritrea is going good, but against all odds( USA, Europe, Russia, Ethiopia cuba....) what we have reached and still the country Eritrea will stand on two feets, with this goverment is.
solong all this country dont stop to demonolise our country i will support this goverment and never kneel down.
Nice talking to you, Nakfa. I totally respect your opinion. I would like to add some thoughts though, as they come to me from reading your message. Sorry to everyone (and thanks MarginalMedia for allowing me to use your space to this extent) for the mess of dispaired thoughts and opinions that might follow
"Eritrea is in war with Ethiopia init", that's what you write, Nakfa. Well, is it? I was forced to go to a war, I was forced to kill... now I call brother the one that I was supposed to call enemy (the one that you will call enemy without even know him). I am not at war any more. Talk to anyone that has been in a war, Nakfa and see if only one wants war or the talk of it.
The government knows that more than one third of the Eritrean population (the third that can inform themselves better and the third that also brings the money that supports them) needs to be connected to home. Our glorious past is a link, but for how long for the new generation? What better to keep our past refreshed that a non-ending war?
...and yet another one trying to divert attention.
If you have anything to comment on this video or the issues that brings up, go ahead nakfa; the world is listening to you, man. But, if you want to comment on Ethiopian politics you got the wrong forum.
What about you, Nakfa? Are you a "lover" of Eri? I don't think that to fight for justice is to hate. Hate manifests by hurting people for no reason (see Eritrean government). So, who are the "haters" here?
Nakfa, have you been in Nakfa or are you another one that prefers to have an idilic view of a place of which you know little about?
The regime is one of the leading abusers of religious freedom worldwide, with as many as 2,000 mostly evangelical Christians languishing in detention for their faith.Human rights violations are rampant, including compulsory, unending military service for persons under 40, even for priests and religious. The state harasses parents whose children flee the country in search of opportunity.
..and another one following the dictator's manual. Rule number one: discredit the person, then you can justify anything you do to him/her. Exactly what has been done to the journalists in Eritrea
Suddenly you have decided I am Ethiopian so you can evade any discussion and go back to your rethoric of hate and war
ey, big surprise! Where all the nasty comments inciting to hate and violence from GerrieLijam and Squeaky 11 have gone? Instead we have now their more polite version in the appearance of dalahkislands. So big win!!! The dogs of the dictator are starting to realise that to sound convincing they'll have to do more than just insulting anyone that doesn't bow to them.
ERITREAN JOURNALIST, IMPRISONED WITHOUT TRIAL(LIKE MANY THOUSANDS)IN 2001, SEYOUM TSEHAYE, HAS BEEN CHOSEN AS"JOURNALIST OF THE YEAR 2007"for complaining of the autocratic gvt.this shows the catastrohic human rights situation with this evil dictator in Eritrea.
dahlakisland ,what about the picture standing beside him.you don´t what happened in eritrea.after reading your comment i definetly know you´re a camp follower and have NO plan ab.eritrea.i see, you spend time withthe ridiculous eritv(1tv pr.inEritrea?!?!)spreading lies n propaganda fool.tens of thousand´s to be said are in prison, unguilty.Don´t you have access to info. about eritrea?
For his "rethoric", I wouldn't be surprised if this dahlakislands is yet another Squeaky11 or GerrieLijam, one more screw in Ass-i-ass propaganda machine. It all sounds to me like at least one guy with a full-time position working for the dictator and presenting himself as different users.
Keep it up SiemF and check out what I have found: "ERITREA, DELAYI SELAM NUSUYU"
zirac, how long is this dictator still destroying our country?16 years n this country is still without freedom ,democracy our freedom fighter fought for;enonomic, food, wealth?nothing!just endless angriness to this dictator and eritreans in diaspora acclaiming to everyth.isayas does!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Joshua wasn't detained from the streets. He went to a police station to enquiry about his journalist friends arrested. Enough reason to get him tortured and killed, isn't dahlakislands?
Wait until your father or a brother is arrested. Let's see if you got the balls then to go to a police station asking, dahlakislands.
Ethiojegna3-IS that kind of language necessary? she is only 23 years old!yes I disagree 'w' her! so much so that after back in forth 'w' her she gave me a HEADache!so I blacked her! yet I do appreciate her passion just like I appreciate yours!
B word & being dismissive of ones opinion? not something that IS consider reasonable & sensible way to interact:
if WE want PEACE & PROSPERITY we must respect each other:& disagree 'w'out being disagreeable & work on the 90% that we agree on:
you don't deserve respect ether & MarginalMedia-should black you!
please MarginalMedia black him??
Ethiojegna-you don't deserve that name! most Ethos are Peace loving respect-full ppl that have sacrificed so much in the idea of UNITY!! but when they realized it was suicide to keep fighting unwinnable WAR they let go! NOW are focusing in holding on to the more then 80 tribes & the WAR on POVERTY!
I denounce you!you are not of the ppl I am proud of true Ethiopian jegnas:
THANK YOU for your involvement!may just reach 1 of the knuckleheads that have been given me HEADaches:
blind hate & blame to all Etho(agame) by most Eritreans have been nauseating! &'w' same Ethos that have the same HATE!
can appreciate our COMMON CULITURE & HISTORY & yet have a separate aspiration that is my hope: I pray WE see the big PIC.. ppl on both side have suffer for much to long! they been dieing & suffering from WAR: & HUNGER:
lol ybayoyo, i guess you want our country Ethiopia to get in bed with the tyrannical regime of isayias afeworki and be destroyed. you think eritreans like Ethiopia, i can guarantee the majority of them have a sole purpose in life that is to destroy Ethiopia and exploit its divisions, you talk as if you know Eritreans, maybe you've seen their smile but you don't know what lies beneath the surface.
I dont remind u that Tigray ppl has been abused for a century under the Ethiopian rulers. When Tplf took power in 1991. I was expecting them 2 be a positive roal model 2 the rest of horn of africa but unfortunately they have failed. Its ur time we will deal with it. One things u have 2 know that u cant dominate Ethio 4 ever things will change one day & u dont have 2 blame no one except urself. Having said I have no hatred towards Tigray ppl, except ppl like u with full of hatred.
i should tell MARGINALMEDIA that you [Hakee04] and your cronies [cutegual gerrielijam nustrumus peace754] all support the tyrranical and brutal regime of isayas afeworki who has destoryed many of eritrean innocent lives such as JOSHUA who fought for his people for freedom and human rights.
even though you don't like my language, the message is the same.
Plz dont try 2 fool us I know u how much u hate the Erit ppl. Plz dont try 2 lecture me about what is going on in my country. I know that Issays is not perfect regime but its ur nightmare. U always talk about Issays only what about Meless in 2005 in an precedented barbaric show of force, security force directed under ur leader indescriminator fired on peacefull demon, & killed more then 200 ppl. U decided not 2 talk ab it, b/c Meless is from ur tribe whatever he dose is lawful.
Worry ab those 120,000 Ethio childern have just one month 2 live. Worry about ur soldiers in Somalia who are geting killed, burnt & dragged. Instead of releasing videos clips every morning to damage the Eritrean image the best thing 2 do is go & help ur starving ppl.
Dont try to scapegoat Ethiopia for your problems, the problem with you SHABIA are mentaly psychologically raped by your colonial masters italians, and you cannot admit your leader is an international terrorist who's attacked EVERY NATiON THAT BORDERS IT, even you attacked yemen and you don't have a border with them. lol who's next?? oman, saudi arabia? egypt?
You "bet" Ass-i-ass didn't even know of Joshua's existence?
Well dahlakislands, keep betting, but don't become a gambler or you'll loose all your money.
Your argument is pure naiveness. People with power in Eritrea don't have to follow the law, they create it. It is like saying that if Ethiopia invaded us for decades is because we had "done something". They wouldn't "unless we have done something", would they?
It seems that the bullies of the dictator's propaganda machine here - GerrieLijam & Squeky11, have gone back to their holes: where they can insult Ethiopians or Eritreans that are not as fanatic as them.
And you start sounding like Squeky11. Get it right, what is it going to be? The capital letters that sound like the torturer that is right now breaking someone's fingers so as to get the password of an email address, or the racist insults that reflects how little respect you hold for humanbeings.
Why don't you inform about the two policemen killed?
A bomb went off yesterday in Asmara killing two policemen (I bet the "Serving the Truth" people from the Ministry of Information won't report it). It could have been a response to the continuous religious persecution going on at the moment, or it might have been just too many people having had enough of the situation in general
GerrieLijam, I'm familiar with our history (and you know well that by now). However things smell for you, that's your problem (and anyway, it is your job to work it all out). But right now, out of courtesy for your intense intercation, I inform you that I'm going to sleep, don't expect any answers from me for a few hours. (if tonight I dream with dead, guns and the shithole of Sawa, I'm going to blame you).
Go to those "ocuppied" territories and ask the people living there for their opinion (as if that would count for Ass-I-ass!) The most common answer you are going to get is this: "We don't care what administration we are under. This is our land and we want to leave in peace". And for the rest of the population, why Eritrea doesn't have a professional army so whoever goes to war is because has choosen to take that risk?
The answer to your question GerrieLijam - My grandparents gave their lives in that struggle, my parents gave their youth, I have lost direct brothers and sisters, cousins, uncles... and I am very lucky to be alive. The dictator you serve has not the right to take away the freedom we all fought for. Keep fishing for information to build up Zirac007's folder if you wish, you'll never get from me anything that might put in danger my family and friends.
In the news all around the world today: the Eritrean government is sending weapons to support the muslim insurgency in Somalia so as to keep a proxi war with Ethiopia. War, war, war... It is the credo of our Eritrean president. Why this man don't wear one of the bomb belts he is sending to Somalia and blow himself up? A great favour for humankind. Is war want to help Eritreans in the daily misery they have to leave in?
You are becoming boring again, GerrieLijam. I don't see this world in black and white. Change the words Ethiopia and Ethiopians for Ass-i-ass and Eritreans in what you call your question and you answer that demagogic, racist and judgemental statement. Hate is all that comes from your mind. The world can not differenciate between an Eritrean and an Ethiopian and you keep beating the drums of hate. Are you the one that is going to fight in the next war?
Trust whoever you want to trust. Pesonally I trust everyone until they probe me wrong. But consider that blind trust to the wrong hands is supporting their wrong doing (and killing the trust of the ones you'll never meet because of that) Your brothers in the Eritrean government are the ones dying in prison now because they wanted democracy. And you don't have a real family brother in Eritrea because if you had you wouldn't have made that wrong choice.
what is to be done, waited so long to be free only to be enslaved by those who proclaimed freedom

MarginalMedia 2 years ago
@MarginalMedia you said " isaias Afewerki is the one denying the martyrs( and the rest of Eritrean population) that freedom". The people who are leading Eritrea today have seen their brothers/sisters die next to them fighting(for 30 years) to liberate Eritrean people from Ethiopian's colony, which was first supported by the USA and then by USSR, two superpowers at the time. Correct me if i am wrong but this might have been the longest war fought for freedom in Africa. PURE DETERMINATION !!!!!!
fitsumt 1 year ago
@fitsumt @fitsumt Have you got this from this documentary? Because that is exactly what the story is about: a man that fought that war, that had his brother killed, his wife killed beside him in the trenches... and that died killed by this dictator simply becuase he viewed him as a political rival. End of story.
You show your determination and GO TO ERITREA, learn the truth of Eritrean people with your own eyes
MarginalMedia 1 year ago
@MarginalMedia No, i did not get it from your documentary, i got it from reading a book called "JOURNEY FROM NAKFA TO NAKFA"...i started watching the documentary and then i saw one of your comments about wedi Aforki been a dictator who is betraying the martyrs and that the Eritrean population doesn't support him, which is a ridiculous comment, lead me not to continue to watch. i will say this again, tell me which part of our leaders policy you don't like. we can have a constructive talk this way
fitsumt 1 year ago
@MarginalMedia stop talking in abstract and be specific..we can exchange our ideas better that way, i think
fitsumt 1 year ago
@fitsumt Abstract? Joshua was like a brother to me. We lived together. Do you want to know about his wife that never got his body back? About his children? Do you want to know about their lives right now?...
There is no more "abstract" thing here that swalling the subreal "Serving the Truth" propaganda of the regime. How can any country serve any truth when having their journalist executed or in prison.
Do you want to know about other friend of mine: Dawit Isaac?
GO TO ERITREA. See by yourself
MarginalMedia 1 year ago
@MarginalMedia hey, i have been busy with school work...i will say this. you sound to me like those minority Americans who believe Obama is a Muslim or he is Kenyan, therefor he is not legitimate. you know those people who say crazy stuff.. But i will give you the benefit of the doubt and i will do my own research on joshua and Dawit... talk to you then
fitsumt 1 year ago

He has put a knife on the things that held us together and we have fallen apart.” I don't think Africa is messed up for no reason.
fitsumt 1 year ago
@MarginalMedia 1st COMMENT .i DON'T REMEMBER SAYING YOU ARE AMERICAN BUT ANYWAYS, school is over now, and i will do the research. but in meanwhile here is quote from a book called "Things Fall Apart" by Nigerian author. Read this book, if you haven't already “Does the white man understand our custom about land?” “How can he when he does not even speak our tongue? But he says that our customs are bad; and our own brothers who have taken up his religion also say that our customs are bad.
fitsumt 1 year ago
@MarginalMedia 3RD COMMENT..They used religion to divide and colonize us then, now they will use freedom speech and democracy as an excuse etc.Are you following the hypocrisy of the west and Sweden. When freedom speech comes knocking at their door a journalist automatically becomes a terrorist...we have to wake up and see the world for what it is.
fitsumt 1 year ago
@MarginalMedia 4TH COMMENT.. We need to learn from our history...otherwise things will stay the same in Africa and for people who are historically oppressed anywhere in this world , just the way the interest groups want it. And i am confident through my research i will find out that the GOE has a good reason for whatever they did to Dawit and Joshua ...as they usually do. talk to you then
fitsumt 1 year ago
@fitsumt Bla, bla, bla... gelemele
Do your famous research and learn for God's sake!
MarginalMedia 1 year ago
@MarginalMedia why don't you leave Eritrea for Eritreans..No one know about Eritrea..THE REST OF THE WORLD DOESNT CARE ABOUT ERITREA..LOL..
'From the point of view of justice, the opinions of the Eritrean people must receive considerations; nevertheless, the strategic interest of the United States in the Red Sea basin and considerations of security and world peace make it necessary that the country has to be linked to our ally, Ethiopia'. fitsumt 1 year ago
@MarginalMedia I am doing my research but Of-course you would call the suffering Africans by the west nonsense ..the first reason might be you might be a nice person and just ignorant of our history.. the second is you might be the interest group i am talking about.....EITHER WAY if you want to stand up for journalist stand up for Julian Assange and Journalist in the West and leave Eritrea alone....We will fix our own problems gradually ....YOU FIX YOUR OWN PROBLEM
fitsumt 1 year ago
@fitsumt I am not here to fight against you. My problem is exposed in this video: my Eritrean brother was killed by this man. He wasn't the only Eritrean friend I had that got killed for this man. You can call me ignorant, "interest group", or talk about other issues... I made that video and some others about Eritrea, I lived in Eritrea I worked in Eritrea... You? I'll say it again: gelemele
Go to Eritrea and live and work there instead of supporting a killer of your own people
MarginalMedia 1 year ago

((LoL))

@MarginalMedia..#1 yes, there are milions of Eritreans in the West ... I hope this will help with your ignorance…”From the point of view of justice, the opinions of the Eritrean people must receive consideration.

@MarginalMedia cont..#3. are you saying since they are in the west, they shouldn’t care about their people back home? fitsumt 9 months ago

@MarginalMedia i have met many people like you...when asked what is 2 + 2, you say 3...and then you want to argue about calculus..my advice to you is to understand the basics first...learn, please if you care about humans, learn, learn african history.follow current events...when you understand what the problem is then we will talk about soultions...otherwise, it will be like trying to teach a first grader how to solve a calculus problem.why do you think Ethiopia is allowed to invade Eritrea
fitsumt 9 months ago

@fitsumt If you are doing your research where the hell are the G-15 reformists that i listed below, they were involved in the liberation struggle:
Petros Solomon, Aster Fissehatsion, Beraki Gebreselassie, Haile Woldetensae, Mohmud Sherifo, Ogbe Abraha,Berhane Gebregziabeher,Salh Kekiya,Estifanos Seyoum, Germano Nati,Mamad Hamid Mamad, Mesfin Hagos, Hamid Himid, Mohammed Berhan Blata, Beraki Gebreselassie, Adhanom Ghebremariam, Mahamoud Ahmed
abeshaking370 1 year ago
@abeshaking370 ..The word you should research is called “national security”, also the history of humans in this world, so you will wake up from dreams. You can start by reading the Greek empire, the roman empire, the Persian empire, the united states empire, the British empire etc..and then start reading how Africa was colonize, and then how African governments were and are still being overthrown by the west or how the west helps puppets stay in power with their military aids…
fitsumt 9 months ago

He has put a knife on the things that held us together and we have fallen apart.” By Nigerian author Chinua Achebe..thank god 99.98 % of Eritreans are capable of learning from history and current events…how does the saying goes, “fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me”
fitsumt 9 months ago
@fitsumt cont. #4...they know they can’t fool Eritreans so they sent assassins form England to kill our leaders in Eritrea..lol…Eritrea is going to make it for the sake of Eritreans, Africans and for the sake human beings in this world….and if that requires arresting traitors then be it….i wonder what the united states gov. will do if an American was found helping the soviet union during the cold war…..Eritrea has had her traitors throughout her history…
fitsumt 9 months ago
@fitsumt cont. #5...we have had traitors during the 30 years war struggle for independence, where both super powers helped Ethiopia . we have had traitors during the 1998 invasion of Eritrea by Ethiopia ….there will always be people who would value their individual gain than their people. This is the curse of Africa and what the west uses against us as Africans...i have a news for you…..in Eritrea they will be found and will face the consequences for their actioins
fitsumt 9 months ago
@fitsumt cont.#6...now go and learn how many good governments in Africa and Latin America have been and are still being overthrown by the west…then come and talk with me….would you also learn why Ethiopia is allowed to invade Eritrea by the west???????? Time to wake up...let me give you a really good advice....before you try to solve a problem, learn what the problem is first...then talk about soultions...are we on the same page?
fitsumt 9 months ago
@fitsumt As usual you didn't answer the question, where are the 15 former liberation fighters now?
Answer like this: some are in jail, some are dead, some are in labor camps.
abeshaking370 8 months ago

And i don't know who you are referring to when you say the "Eritrean population" b/c
fitsumt 1 year ago
@MarginalMedia the Eritrean pouplation is behind their government as demonstrated on world wide demonstration held by Eritreans on diaspora to denounce the united nations sanctions. So, what i am trying to say is don't assume things, we can talk about if the polices in Eritrea are wrong or not, but to assume that all of our leaders are killers and that the Eritrean pouplation does not support their gov. is a lie and a strategy pulled out off fox news.

And Eritrea is not immune to that. What do you think is feeding Isayas fondness for expensive stylish Italian suits and wanted to be in power until he dies?

This is for you, Ass-i-ass suckers, that feel privileged only because you are the ones in Eritrea that can access material like this film, working as spies for the dictator and torturing your fellow citizens only to get the password of their email accounts.

He could have accepted several peace solutions lol? what to give up his land? I think not!
Joshua tried asking for red cross and several countries outside for money and help.
This is whats wrong with this : Asking for ANY kind of aid in africa is like downloading a program but with that program you get TONS of spyware and shit you DON"T need! then you become a slave to your computer and it gets slow/broken.

zirac007 4 years ago
The heroes have been killed and betrayed. The leaders are corrupted and dictatorial. The "achievements" are just bits of information generated by the "serving the truth" propaganda machine. Read any international report to find the truth. Talk to any Eritrean coming out of the country (even returning from a holiday) to know the truth.
zirac007 4 years ago
Bad for Ethiopians then.
What's bad about them?
zirac007 4 years ago 4
I think I told you before, it is all in our minds. I don't see myself as a 3rd class citizen where I live and I don't think you do yourself any favour viewing yourself that way. But if you do, the choice is simply - go back to Eritrea and see if you can be a 1st class citizen.
Be grateful for having a decent life wherever you live, for your wife having food to cook, for your children receiving an education... Is it going to make you happy to live amongst "enemies"? Isn't your mind the "enemy"?
zirac007 4 years ago
The "heroes" that are left Ziegereda, are in prison or had to leave Eritrea. If you want to honour them, fight to satisfy their needs and concerns, not to celebrate the man that has caused all of the trouble for them.
Your cheers can't be heard in our secret prisons, your 2% is reinforcing opression, your way of "honouring" keeps killing our people. Think!
zirac007 4 years ago
All the best to your family, work and friends, Ziegereda. All the best for your life.Everybody has a life, Ziegereda, even me. You have your priorities, I have mine. Without knowing anything about my life, how can you know anything about my reasons to write here? If you feel you are wasting your time, don't waste it. I am certainly not wasting mine.
zirac007 4 years ago
I didn't say the world is a perfect place, Ziegereda. I won't talk much about the USA here or any other country because there are other forums for that. But to clarify your impressions of me, I'll tell you this: "I don't like and I don't trust USA politics. To the point that I think they are to blame for most of what is going wrong in the wolrd today and nothing good will come out of the USA".
That's why moaning about them is useless and reactive. Let's deal with our problems like men.
zirac007 4 years ago
I mentioned dalakhislands, Ziegereda, because you commented in a message he sent to me. That's all. You read the insults he had written to me; if you want to give a speech about respecting opinions, maybe you should address it to him, or to yourself for that matter.
zirac007 4 years ago
Your 2% Ziegereda is to pay for Ass-i-ass expensive suits, not to feed our grandmothers.
zirac007 4 years ago
Dictatorship: "a country, government, or the form of government in which absolute authority is exercised by a dictator".
Dictator: "one who assumes absolute control in a government without hereditary right or the free consent of the people"
Where is Ass-i-ass "hereditary right"? When the free elections that he cancelled years ago? Where the "free consent" of the people?
zirac007 4 years ago
We are a dictatorship state Ziege. This video expresses it well. The liberation our martyrs gave their lives for meant a constitution, political parties, freedom of expression, democracy. That's what independence is. And since 1991 was all there for us to take. And we did take it and we did start to have it. For a short while, the time that Joshua, the journalists, the G-15, and these people lasted. These people were not criminals, traitors or whatever the propaganda machine wants to call them.
zirac007 4 years ago
These people were you and me, Ziegereda; these people were the ones left to honour our martyrs. They were the martyrs lucky enough to make it to the end. So they knew better than you and me what they wanted and the Eritrea they wanted to build; and we had a constitution and an opinionated emerging press that was the entertainment of Martyrs and Liberation Avenue (ah, to go for a walk there back then in the 90's, when everyone had their passegio with their newspaper under the arm!)
zirac008 4 years ago
Our brothers and sisters, Ziegereda; the ones that cared more for what they had fought, the ones that didn't run away, the ones they thought "this is where I belong and this is where I am going to express my opinion" were the first ones to disappear. Disappeared Ziegereda, disappeared. Not even a chance to be heard and trialed by the sistem and the constitution they had put in place. Don't you know of any Eritrean woman who doesn't know if her husband is alive or dead, Ziegereda?
zirac008 4 years ago
And who has done all of this to us, Ziegereda? This is our recent past. I know our history, Ziegereda; but more importantly I understand that to discuss with you about 1952 is a privilege, a luxury, and ultimately a frivolity, that my brother, buried right now in some container underground somewhere in his homeland can't afford. You don't understand, but do you want to?
zirac008 4 years ago
We choose our destiny. My point: if we are a dictatorship, (and it is only us to blame for that) what is that you expect the world to do for us?
The world is not such a bad place. It is full of communities and countries that respect human rights and behave in a way with its citizens that can be called "Fair", with justice. (It is also full of countries that don't know about the existence of a country named Eritrea, so no much point to include those amongst our "enemies")
zirac008 4 years ago
But the countries that knows about the Eritrean situation and wanted to help, what are they going to do? Is it a casuality that more and more of us live overseas? Aren't you a refugee, Ziegereda? Because I am. Many countries do what they can - helping us to get out of misery and a place where human rights are non-existent (and again, humanitarian wachdog organisations, both local and international, were well established in Eritrea in the 90's and it wasn't the world who got rid of them).
zirac007 4 years ago
The situation is the way it is, Ziegereda, and if the world could care and do more for Eritrea now is not for us to judge. You Ziegereda, your family, your work, your friends... that time you don't want to waste... aren't you grateful towards the country that is facilitating all that for you? The world out there is providing today shelter and a decent life for more than one third of our population and income for the whole country (including and above all, our goverment).
zirac007 4 years ago
Let's respect the memory of our martyrs and history, and let's do our own homework and duty Ziegereda, that's talk about the reality of our Eritrea today and what we can do to improve it. And the reality right now is, for example, that everyone here calls me agame simply because I don't identify myself and say where I come from.
zirac007 4 years ago
But, believe me, the ones that know the real Eritrea, the ones living there, if they had the chance to read this, they would understand perfectly - you don't go around the way I am writing to you know if you have family in Eritrea, brother. But ey! who cares if I am called agame, I know of someone who was tortured just to get his email address out of him
zirac007 4 years ago
You are also generous with your insults towards me, Ziegereda. But you also called me "my brother". I liked that. I like it because I consider every other human being my brother (and yes, that include Ethiopians); but make up your mind. What is going to be politness or nastyness?
zirac007 4 years ago
Well, "my brother", this comment you are responding to is clearly addressed to dalakhislands, of whom I predicted that he would end up the debate with a list of insults towards me and disappearing.. and he did. Most of the people you might identify with that's what they do.
And if you are all so sure of your opinions, why you always have to end up with nasty insults. I can't be hurt that way so it might be just the frustration of not knowing to respect other person's opinion.
zirac007 4 years ago
"go suck meles's dick for all i care faggot ass
yo, why don't u fucking get a damn life. don't u have anything better to do that snooping around eri videos and say shit. go suck meles's dick for all i care komal agame."
Finally, this is Dalahkislands, "farewell" mesage to me. God help us, with all these kids dreaming of war but giving up so easily after a small dialectic confrontation. To be heroes in this life you don't need a war, try fighting for justice.
zirac007 4 years ago
"Shame on the world, we'll never forget". Stupid attitud indeed, Ziegereda! Shall we fight the whole world too, Ziegereda? Nearly half of our population can make a decent living in "the world", and instead of being grateful for it, we should hate them all? Good choice, Ziegereda, that should make live for you easier wherever you live!
zirac007 4 years ago
We were fighting 700 or 800 years ago? So what that is it mean? That we'll be fighting for another 700 or 800 years? With ignorants like you, for whom war is no more than an action-movie, that is a possible scenario.
And you talk of shame! The one you will feel when your children have to deal with the war that you'd have left them
unresolved.
Oh God, where are the people that have fought for Eritrea? The men I encounter in the trenches, not these kids with romantic visions of war!
zirac007 4 years ago 2
Whoever thinks it makes any sense to kill and get killed for generations for a strecht of land is simply because he hasn't gone through that experience. That is your problem folks, you want to talk about something you know nothing about!
The border dispute is nothing but Ass-i-ass number one political agenda to keep Eritrea under his ass.
This dispute has a very easy solution. Whoever promotes it, should be the one there fighting, with our coward leader at the front.
zirac007 4 years ago
Where were we in 1952? What a ridiculous question! In 1952 most of us were not born yet. The question that you all keep avoiding is where are you now, in 2008. Obviously not in Eritrea, as noone writes a word about it.
I know our past Ziegereda, and I know about violation of human rights. I know because they have happened to me not that long ago. How can you all talk so much about violation of human rights in the past to justify the ones of the present?
zirac007 4 years ago
You don't believe Joshua's story? The sad story of Eritrean journalists is well documented, not only by this video but by many other ways.
But of course, we are the lucky free ones, don't we? We believe whatever we choose to believe; and while people like you, Ziegereda, chooses to be blind, the bastard one-eyed of Ass-i-ass can keep being the king

nakfa 4 years ago
There is not war in my mind, Nakfa. And there isn't war in the mind of hundres of Eritrean and Ethiopiand I know. They are not fighting. There isn't fighting even in Eritrea. If there was a real war, a few hundres of United Nations Peace Corps troops wouldn't be able to stop it. But even our idiotic leaders understand by now that is useless to make a strech of land nothing else but a huge cemetery.
zirac007 4 years ago
So where is this war today, Nakfa? In your mind. War is the only "made in Eritrea" product that this government has managed to export sucessfully for the last 17 years. (Sorry, I am wrong: the explotation of our past is a second product)And our government has done so with the sole purpose of perpetuating themselves in power.
zirac007 4 years ago
There is one third of our population that knows very little or nothing (or don't want to know) of the daily lives of Eritreans in Keren or Sawa. Of their misery. All our government seems to be involved with is this "war". Al we get to know is this "war". So there we are, all in line, and ready to charge, riding on our glorious pass. So full of our pride that we are all blind. And the government knows it.
zirac007 4 years ago 2
This government controls all the information coming out of Eritrea. By keeping awake the flame of war, Ass-i-ass provides us the honour of helping us to feel as if we were all martyrs, connected with our ancestors and our deepest roots. There is how he got you all by your balls. He is selling you to feel like a hero in the comfort of your house while our Eritreans brothers and sisters starve to death.
zirac007 4 years ago 2
So there is where the war is, Nakfa, in the mind and doings of this government. It is a publicity stunt, with the occassional craker and fireworks (so you can keep going with your imagination and keep committed with your "patriotism ahead of anything else"). And of course, there are heaps of advantages for being "technically" at war...
zirac007 4 years ago 2
... for instance, imagine, Nakfa, if there is a storm wherever you live. Wouldn't it be good to declare your area a "natural disaster" if that would attract funds and help to rebuild the area? Equally, if a country is delared "technically" at war, there are certain advantages that can be taken in the international arena; and you can easily hide all it is going on at home.
zirac007 4 years ago 2
Think, for example, Nakfa in the concept of "national security". If a country is at war, it seems reasonable to have some kind of "national security" in place. Are you aware Nakfa, of the many Eritrean people that have been killed by simlply expressing their opinions, and all have being swept under the mistery of "national security"?
zirac007 4 years ago
And well, if there is war, wouldn't it be the responsibility of any government to end it? Come on people, wake up! We had our victory in 91. The world recognised us in 93. It is 2008 now. All this affair is about justifying the control of power at home, and keeping our hearts in diaspora connected (and our money flowing in)
zirac007 4 years ago
Why this government doesn't need to respond or being hold accountable for anything, Nakfa? Tell me for instance what is wrong with political parties? Political parties are created by the local people and aim to respond to their direct needs. What is wrong with them? Don't we trust ourselves? Why have they be forbiden?
zirac007 4 years ago

zirac007 4 years ago
The government knows that more than one third of the Eritrean population (the third that can inform themselves better and the third that also brings the money that supports them) needs to be connected to home.

Joshua wasn't detained from the streets. He went to a police station to enquiry about his journalist friends arrested. Enough reason to get him tortured and killed, isn't dahlakislands?
Wait until your father or a brother is arrested. Let's see if you got the balls then to go to a police station asking, dahlakislands.

that bitch [dahlakislands] will hide and run, like she does living in the West and supporting the dictatorship.

lol ybayoyo, i guess you want our country Ethiopia to get in bed with the tyrannical regime of isayias afeworki and be destroyed. you think eritreans like Ethiopia, i can guarantee the majority of them have a sole purpose in life that is to destroy Ethiopia and exploit its divisions, you talk as if you know Eritreans, maybe you've seen their smile but you don't know what lies beneath the surface.

Hakee04 3 years ago
Correction, I dont have to remind that
Hakee04 3 years ago
i should tell MARGINALMEDIA that you [Hakee04] and your cronies [cutegual gerrielijam nustrumus peace754] all support the tyrranical and brutal regime of isayas afeworki who has destoryed many of eritrean innocent lives such as JOSHUA who fought for his people for freedom and human rights.
even though you don't like my language, the message is the same.

Hakee04 3 years ago
Worry abot those 4 million starving Ethios.
Hakee04 3 years ago
Dont try to scapegoat Ethiopia for your problems, the problem with you SHABIA are mentaly psychologically raped by your colonial masters italians, and you cannot admit your leader is an international terrorist who's attacked EVERY NATiON THAT BORDERS IT, even you attacked yemen and you don't have a border with them. lol who's next?? oman, saudi arabia? egypt?
Ethiojegna3 3 years ago
You "bet" Ass-i-ass didn't even know of Joshua's existence?
Well dahlakislands, keep betting, but don't become a gambler or you'll loose all your money.
Your argument is pure naiveness. People with power in Eritrea don't have to follow the law, they create it. It is like saying that if Ethiopia invaded us for decades is because we had "done something". They wouldn't "unless we have done something", would they?
zirac007 4 years ago 3
It seems that the bullies of the dictator's propaganda machine here - GerrieLijam & Squeky11, have gone back to their holes: where they can insult Ethiopians or Eritreans that are not as fanatic as them.
Let's free Eritrea of his dictator!
zirac007 4 years ago 2
And you start sounding like Squeky11. Get it right, what is it going to be? The capital letters that sound like the torturer that is right now breaking someone's fingers so as to get the password of an email address, or the racist insults that reflects how little respect you hold for humanbeings.
Why don't you inform about the two policemen killed?
zirac007 4 years ago 2
A bomb went off yesterday in Asmara killing two policemen (I bet the "Serving the Truth" people from the Ministry of Information won't report it). It could have been a response to the continuous religious persecution going on at the moment, or it might have been just too many people having had enough of the situation in general
zirac007 4 years ago 2
GerrieLijam, I'm familiar with our history (and you know well that by now). However things smell for you, that's your problem (and anyway, it is your job to work it all out). But right now, out of courtesy for your intense intercation, I inform you that I'm going to sleep, don't expect any answers from me for a few hours. (if tonight I dream with dead, guns and the shithole of Sawa, I'm going to blame you).
zirac007 4 years ago 2
Go to those "ocuppied" territories and ask the people living there for their opinion (as if that would count for Ass-I-ass!) The most common answer you are going to get is this: "We don't care what administration we are under. This is our land and we want to leave in peace". And for the rest of the population, why Eritrea doesn't have a professional army so whoever goes to war is because has choosen to take that risk?
zirac007 4 years ago
The answer to your question GerrieLijam - My grandparents gave their lives in that struggle, my parents gave their youth, I have lost direct brothers and sisters, cousins, uncles... and I am very lucky to be alive. The dictator you serve has not the right to take away the freedom we all fought for. Keep fishing for information to build up Zirac007's folder if you wish, you'll never get from me anything that might put in danger my family and friends.
zirac007 4 years ago
In the news all around the world today: the Eritrean government is sending weapons to support the muslim insurgency in Somalia so as to keep a proxi war with Ethiopia. War, war, war... It is the credo of our Eritrean president. Why this man don't wear one of the bomb belts he is sending to Somalia and blow himself up? A great favour for humankind. Is war want to help Eritreans in the daily misery they have to leave in?
zirac007 4 years ago
You are becoming boring again, GerrieLijam. I don't see this world in black and white. Change the words Ethiopia and Ethiopians for Ass-i-ass and Eritreans in what you call your question and you answer that demagogic, racist and judgemental statement. Hate is all that comes from your mind. The world can not differenciate between an Eritrean and an Ethiopian and you keep beating the drums of hate. Are you the one that is going to fight in the next war?
zirac007 4 years ago
Trust whoever you want to trust. Pesonally I trust everyone until they probe me wrong. But consider that blind trust to the wrong hands is supporting their wrong doing (and killing the trust of the ones you'll never meet because of that) Your brothers in the Eritrean government are the ones dying in prison now because they wanted democracy. And you don't have a real family brother in Eritrea because if you had you wouldn't have made that wrong choice.
