I have gotten into making music which has always been one form of art I was afraid to try but now that I have it has become my greatest passion. I made a few songs and Gmod videos for them (posted on my play list on my channel if you want to check them out). I haven't been making many videos lately, and none in gmod for a very long time. I need to get back to doing that one day though.

It is part of the Source SDK called Face Poser. You can download it free on Steam for use with games that use the Source engine. It is under the "Tools" tab. It has a little bit of a learning curve, but if you are familiar with most any other 3D animation program, you will not have any trouble understanding how to use it. You can find plenty of tutorials for using it by just searching Face Poser here on YouTube. Good Luck.

he just added an audio clip from the movie and synchronized the movements with the audio.

the video he recorded from gmod had no audio, he just added it separately.

and those were ragdolls, not NPCs.

lemonlaw is mostly correct, accept they aren't ragdolls, they are NPCs. I manually lip sync the characters and edit their gestures in SDK Face Poser then put the VCD files I make into Gmod through a kind of pain in the butt process. I then use the built in Source Recorder to capture the video while playing the scenes. You can find plenty of tutorials on YouTube and Google on how to do it. I will be honest, it takes a ton of effort, but I enjoyed doing it and I am usually happy with the result

Just to be a little more clear about putting the VCD files into Gmod. It isn't the VCD files themselves that are the pain as much as it is the audio files. You have to make a lua file specifically for the new WAV files, or use some command in the console to be able to use them. The trick is putting all the stuff in the right folders and getting them all to be recognized in Gmod.

Yep, that is one of the things I love about Valve games. They provide everything you need to mod their engine in almost any way. You can even download a free version of Softimage XSI for editing models and customizing animations for Source games. I could never find a tutorial for getting customized animations into the games when I was making these. I would have loved to have known how to do that.

It's a sandbox that runs off of all the source games, kinda throws everything into a bundle and you can spawn anything and use anything to make anything. Can be played SP or MP, fun shit.
