I went to fight Red, and I thought he was really powerful cause I didn't know how strong his pokemon were, so eventually I leveled up my Kingdra to lv. 100 and sweeped his whole team with 1 pokemon. I love pokemon so much. too bad they had to make a new generation that I didn't enjoy.

@sketchking23 when i was training before the elite 4 i would battle along Route 26 and 27, sometimes even on Victory Road. I would do the same for Red but battle higher leveled pokemon i.e. lv 30'+ :) what i also found useful was having my first pokemon hold exp. share; it doubled the exp. I got from each wild pokemon encounter.
