it requires SUPERB timing (also depending on how you set the time in the system direction); you press forward at the right time before the attack hits and there you go!

it should be on page one of the system direction settings. i think it reads "time to input a parry" or something similar. it resembles how you set the cpu difficulty and damage level for the game, so look for an option that has stars like the those options. This determines how long you have to enter a parry. S is the shortest amount of time, L is the longest (so one star makes it difficult to parry after blocking an attack). Honestly, though, I can't tell the difference. But i digress, lol.
