Shame us Megadrive owners got this lame version of Baxter as a boss and the SNES Turtles in time got his mutated fly form in the first level of the game! This game was cool but the levels dragged on to long and it was never really Difficult enough to keep things interesting , the added run button also made the game to easy.
To explain the fly thing, Shredder threw Stockman in a portal to Dimension X froma garbage heap. Krang placed him into a disinegration (sp?) chamber, but it malfunctioned and mutated Stockman due a fly from the garbage heap in the same chamber.
The old TMNT cartoon that aired in the late 80s and early 90s had an episode where (if I remember correctly) Baxter failed in defeating the turtles and Shredder threw him into some machine, while the door was open, a fly went inside as well. The fly and Stockman fused together in the chamber, that's basically the story. I don't get why the new TMNT's Baxter Stockman is completely different in every way except for the fact that they were both nerds.
To answer your question, the African-American version of Baxter Stockman you see in the new TMNT cartoons is supposed to be based on the original Mirage Comics. The fly transformation only happened in the 1987's cartoons as a direct inspiration from the Fly movie with Seth Brundle. The 2003 cartoon version is more like the Mirage Comic version compared to the 1987 cartoon version. Hope that answers your question!
Baxter is master of the Mousers.

If I am not mistaken the the Baxter Stockman from the new TMNT was based off the Comic book Stockman.

The old cartoon was the best, i had lot of the episodes on vhs.

The entire new TMNT series in general is based of the comics apparently. Even that CGI movie was based off the comics.
Darkstar263 2 years ago
That's correct.
In the TMNT comics, Stockman was black.
