In the middle ages, Ireland was split into half a dozen kingdoms or so that were constantly warring with each other. The Brits first came into Ireland to assist the King of Leinster in conquering other Irish kingdoms. Only when he died and left no heir, rightfully the lands we helped him conquer were ours naturally.

Some Unionists would refer to day that today's from of Ulster is the 6 counties.

Contrary to what everyone thinks. Ireland was never unified before the Brits arrived. In the middle ages, Ireland was split into half a dozen kingdoms or so that were constantly warring with each other. The Brits first came into Ireland to assist the King of Leinster in conquering other Irish kingdoms. Only when he died and left no heir, rightfully the lands we helped him conquer were ours naturally.

very true, I think most people know this. However, when the Norman-English came & the subsequent planters, things got much much worse for everyone. It was Queen Elizabeth I that said; "I find that I sent wolves not shepherds to govern Ireland, for they have left me nothing but ashes and carcasses to reign over!" True, we weren't perfect in Ireland but look at every other empire that's ever existed and look at their cruel acts. People like Genghis Khan forced a Chinese city to starve to death before he over took it. Some people including me feel why can't all of the British Isle's be united. We hare a similar race ethnicity etc. Both people's have crossed the channel for meaning a mixing of traditions cultures and so on. Both people's could prosper, equally. Always sounded like a good idea to me.

It is a great idea on paper. But everyone always wants their own identity & if a peoples are persecuted that need for a separate identity grows stronger. I'm still convinced though that had the English even stopped their mistakes at the potato famine, Ireland would still have the Flag of St. Patrick as their banner as part of the UK. But, too much blood was spilled, the levy broke in 1916.

The 1916 rising is why there is loyalist resentment of the nationalists/catholic/republicans. While a lot of Ustermen were dying on the Somme. The Irish rebelled and loyalists see this as a betrayal not just to them and the Brits but to other Irishmen fighting during WW1.

Truth is, it was the best time to do it. The British Army then was the most powerful in the world, this rebellion was by farmers & dentists. It made tactical sense to do it when the bears head was looking in the other direction. World War One was not like World War Two, it was a pointless & tragic dick size competition that was actually responsible for WWII. I would not have fought in that thing either. Like I said, in 1916 not many Irish supported the Uprising, support was AFTER the executions.

Oh and please don't use 'Ulstermen' it's a complete misnomer. Ulster is an anxcient Irish provence that also incorporates Monaghan, Donegall & Cavan. Irish Unionists would be a better description. Also, Loyalists only has one connotation now, Murderers who's sole target throughout the whole of the troubles was civilians. I'm friends with many Unionists who would vomit blood at the thought of the two of them being connected.

The modern loyalists are wankers fair enough, but that is where Unionist resentment of the Irish comes from (well some it) and Ulster hasn't always been the 9 counties. Over time Ulster changed. Even in medevil times the 9 county Ulster didn't really exist it was split between a Kingdom ruling Tyrone, Monaghan, Donegal and the other Kingdom ruling Antrim, Down, Londonderry and Armagh. Some Unionists would refer to day that today's from of Ulster is the 6 counties.

Thirdly, I think you need to review your definition of occupied territory.
Finally the Government of Ireland act 1920 'decided' what parts of Ireland they would keep. Not because they love you, but for strategic military reasons.

No one doubts that blacks were oppressed but it must be remembered that the Civil War & the Civil Right struggle were fought by US Whites for Blacks.
In the Sixties reparations were paid in the form of the "Great Society" programs of housing, jobs, education, racial quotas & affirmative action. I don't think Irish Catholics were given these types of reparations were they?
Today, non of the Black leaders are like King, or Malcolm. They advocate the most reationary racist hatred of Whites.

Immigrants built the USA and made it what it is today

The indigenous Americans (Indians) were divided into 2 camps.
One was those anxious to be part of the Constitutional republic.
The other was primitive loyalists (Joseph Brant's Volunteers, etc.) who were duped into fighting for the British in 1776 & 1812.
Unfortunately President Jackson was loyal to the Southern Slave owners & drove the Indians from their land, thus creating war between Whites & Indians, instead of assimilation.

The British created the US dependency on slavery & tried to continue it by backing the Confederacy in the Civil War.
Lincoln led the fight against this & thousands of freedom loving Whites fought to free Blacks from slavery.

The reality is it was built by 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. generation Americans. Most Blacks have been here for many generations.
