  • Heck I forgot to mention the plight of the Australian aborginals until I saw the tom selleck that I think was quigly down under movie that the natives of that country faced a similar tupe fate as the native americans did.

  • In the region that I live in there is the Nooksack tribe and the bigger Lummi nation and a lot of people could have rights both in the United States and Canada because of the native land land got split up between WA state and Canada. I do have some native american blood in my viens, but mother was brain washed becuase of fear that people would shun you for becuase of your ancestory. It is ironic, that decades ago that people started to claim that they part cherroke for a status synbol

  • Wow...wendat drummers! Awesome...I wish this clip was longer!

  • NICE

  • very good. i love this type of music

  • GREAT VIDEO!!! FKD

  • that beat sounds like apple bottom jeans.lol.

  • we love this music in small town Toronto Canada! Smaller cities and "unurban" cities prefer this music other than pop music which is disgusting,

  • Hello clintleung, it is wonderful to see a video of a Huron singers/musicians performing, this video would be great for the Canada’s Got Treasures collection, which aims to feature Canadian videos of personal or cultural significance. Help celebrate Canadian diversity by joining our YouTube group (/group/TresorTreasure) and submitting your video. It would be made available on our channel and website.

  • Looks like Mohawks and song is pretty much same kind but their are from Finland, Lappland, put the search word: Angelin Tytöt "Giddat"

  • I'am form finland and we have also native people called "lappalainen" and they looks like mohawks and music sounds same.

  • i though the Hurons were wiped out

  • no the Beothuks were- ..via disease. at least that's what the history books say--i do not trust history books.

  • good :) keep doing so...

  • the Aboriginals are the natives of Australia, what does Canada have to do with Australia.

  • Aboriginals were the natives of the western hemisphere. Europe, Canada, Amricas, Australia, Brazil, Peru, Amazon, etc. B/c of the mixing with different europeans they have different tribal names. The whole DNA thingy is crazy. Some who say they are Aboriginal are not and some who are said to be Amerindian are Aboriginal but by % moreso than others.

  • Sir - the word 'aboriginal' just means the original inhabitants of the country. The name was applied to the tribes living in Australia, and any other country where there were already people living before the whites invaded.

  • @Paperclown They are more or less the same term, but for Australia the term used is usually 'Aborigines' rather than 'Aboriginal', as it is used in Canada. Often in Canada it is used as 'Aboriginal People' or peoples.

  • @6Nations4life Many of them were due to disease and war, but quite a few live on in other Tribes (absorbed by Iroquois and Ojibwa) and there is a significant community who migrated away from Huronia to the Quebec region. (I think)

  • Praise YAH!

  • where can i get more like this? and the whole song?

  • Don't know.

  • @Aur0rah Go to a pow wow!

  • Why connot we all see them for who they all are, First citizens, I think we would all be in a better world now if tesla came to the new world rather then columbus,.

  • the truth acceptable term is the "first nations" .i'm white and lived with the first nations in saskatchewan and the first nation population is rapidly growing.

  • 'First Nations' is a regional term used in Canada. Other terms such as 'aboriginal' as evidenced by the aboriginal awards and festivals and even 'native indian' are still used by many native people. so it is 'policy' for us to use all terms for all of our various online projects such as videos, articles and websites.

  • Americans have always treated thier Native Culture with a lot of hatred.Canada although better, also has its indifferences with its Native people and that is wrong.

They were here long before us and they should have the power to self-govern.I love the Music and Creative Art.

Don't you think they have every right to be angry, they've never been given a chance.Sit down and listen to them show them the respect they deserve.

    The Wolf

  • Call them Indians..if you say Native American they immediately think you are a white liberal sociologist/archaeologist or government bureaucrat fresh out of school.

  • Aboriginal is the accepted term in Canada. It's the same in Taiwan, where I live. However, in the US, isn't there a lack of unity as to what people are called -- 'Indians' 'Native-americans' or the tribe name ?

  • Yeah. "Indians" is not really...preferred. :| I usually say Native Americans.

  • @Aorenai what if their canadian?

  • It means "politically correct" o_o

  • It depends on what part of the Continent you come from. Whatever suits you... where ever you are.

  • So many PC terms in one title lol

  • is that a racist term?? hmmm cause i'm indian

  • Is what a racist term?

  • He is talking about weed well kinds of weed

  • well if it doesn't offend you then it probably isn't racist
