  • @curttheboywonder a belt is raw in every federation. it does not give assistance on lifts at all. it is there for safety purposes. thats like outlawing lifting shoes

  • Great raw lifts and totals for the big 3. Some people don't understand as a tall guy you have longer limbs and have to move the weight a lot further to complete an exercise. I see so many guys at my gym with short arms and big chests that only move the weight a few inches to complete a bench and half the time they bounce the weight. Great effort locking out that second bench. Great power~!

  • Great stuff!! Very impressive. I can no longer compete in RAW powerlifting meets due to no more cartlidge in my right knee. One question, are you wearing some kind of suit when you deadlifted? You seem to be adjusting something under your shirt before your attempt. In the WNPF, we cannot wear any supportive suits during the deadlift. I am not taking anything away from what you demonstrated here. It is darn impressive. Good luck!

  • Thanks. You mean when I am rolling my arms before the lift. It is some sort of habit I have before I am deadlifting. I am always doing it before heavy lifts, suit or no suit. Here I am not wearing a suit, but I am still "mentally" adjusting the t-shirt or something.

  • I am 6'6". I grew up and live in Sweden. I played american football for 13 years before starting powerlifting and strongman. I played for the Frankfurt Galaxy in NFL Europe during the 2002 season. That was as close as I got to the NFL. I was a little to slow to make it all the way.

  • That's closer than about 99 percent of most people, so I would be very proud of that fact! You guys in Sweden have a lot of really strong men, as seen, of course, in the strongman world. Thank you for your response.

    Thanks man. I weigh about 155 kg (340 lbs) in this clip. I usually hover somewhere between 150 and 160 kg, depending on the time of year (heavier during competition season).

  • You're a BIG dude! I weigh between 265 and 270 (at six feet). I hope to squat seven, bench about 440 and deadlift in the low 600s within the next several months. With very basic gear I have officially done 660, 440 and 600. But I am much stronger now. I wish I was even close to your deadlift prowess. Incredible. Keep at it, man! You're a machine!

  • Thanks! I try (ha, ha). If I can, I would like to take my bodyweight over 270. I have been almost 280 in the past, and noticed a big difference in my lifting ability, definitely. The only guys who get anywhere light are the dudes gassing it hard, and they usually don't last long anyway. Not that I am against informed use if that's what one decides, but I would like to stay "natural". I use the quotations because, I mean, what is natural, right? I drink coffee before I train, so ...

  • You're strong. And about the leaning forward, I don't know much but maybe you can try looking up towards the ceiling while you squat? Maybe looking up will help you maintain your balance alittle more. Either way great squats.

  • Yes, I know. I have always had a problem getting deep enough without leaning. I am working on it though, and it looks better when not going so heavy. Going for a max will always make me go back to my old ways though. Gotta keep working.

  • Vad gör du utan utrustning och hur stor betydelse har den egentligen, alltså lyfter man så väldigt mycket mer med den?

    Finns det några SL-tävlingar f.ö som inte tillåter utrustning (dräkt, tröja)?

  • Dessa lyft är utan utrustning (dräkt och bänktröja). Man kan lyfta mycket mer med utrustning, men det kräver att man tränar för att bli bra med utrustning, något jag inte gör. Duktiga utrustningslyftare, gör ca 100kg mer i böj, 60 till 80 kg mer i bänk och 20 till 50 kg mer i marklyft med dräkt, lindor och tröja.

    Vad jag vet finns det inga tävlingar i som inte tillåter utrustning, förutom mindre klubbtävlingar och liknande.
