you shouldnt put finches with parakeets, my parakeet i thought was lonely so i went to petsmart to get him a new toy and i saw finches so i thoght id get him a pal well i broght him home put him in the the cage and my parakeet killed him so i just got him a new toy instead

I see 3 kinds of birds myself ...Budgie Parakeet, Finches, and I assume a Quail of some sort? What state is this in? I could not do this in Florida, and also not in California, FL is too hot, and CA gets too cold at night.

I'm living in The Netherlands. In summer it is here about 30 degrees Celsius and last week it was 10 degrees Celsius below zero and all my birds are still outside. Greetings from The Netherlands.

Thats 86F (30C) and 14F (-10C)?? I hope it slowly changes temperature. I know a neighbor who killed her parakeets by leaving them outside in Orlando Florida, in their cage, even with water and food. It was about 96F (35.5C) that day. Also in Florida, a week ago, in Tampa Florida, there were birds found frozen, and dead, as there are groups ob Budgies wild. was 25-33F I know even bird breeders, and they would get shut down here in the USA for leaving them outside near or under freezing.

Yes, the temperature changes slowly. Budgies live originally in Australia, so 96F shouldn't be any problem. Just be sure that there always is fresh water even when it freezes you have to refresh it three or four times a day. When your birds are outside allways they get used to the change of the seasons so it won't be any problem for them. Greetings from Uden, The Netherlands. Those are button quail running around on the bottom picking up seeds that have dropped. They look like round little birds with basically no tail so from above they might look like rats.

well,i have 2 males and 2 females and the males usually get along-mine actually buddied up.but if your males pick the same female,then there is trouble.but usually they pick one female and all is at peace.usually.

hey, both are female, because when they are male, they always have a blue cere. Unless thery are albine(just white), in that case they always have their cere pinkesh eihter female or male.

they can eat brocolly,spinach dont give them just salat cause it has no vitamins in it. brocolly is filled with all the vitamins they need including calcium which they need for strong bones. Lack of calcium can cause seizures and other vitamin defficiencies. parakeets that live only on the seed diet are much likely to live less.. so change their diet slowly and also feed them with pelets but include veggies too. seeds are only for snacks:) i know they love it but i want them to be healthy too

My parakeets and finches love to hear the bird sounds when I watch this. I have two, one day I went outside and there was another one sitting on top of the cage, he heard the others and decided it would be a safe place to live, so he joined the others. He is young and always causing trouble! Hey finches and parakeets can live together?
