China has hunger for African minerals and they don't lecture Africans on stupid things like human rights, corruption and the like. China-Africa is a marriage made in heaven. As long as the Chinese do not try to settle in Africa, they are welcome for business.
its true the Chinese are already there an many of us of African decent haven't even set foot on the soil of Ankibuland,Its the so-call garden of Eden (melanin ppl open yours dam eyes also your mind and heart). To long shit been going down in Africa to its ppl quote:ppl of Africa was there long!!!!!before any foreigners an they will be there long after.
The Congo is a perfect example of a pll. that didn't have the ambitiojn to do things on their own. They just ler the other nations rape them for a few scraps, cause they don't have a fully evolved brain.Their brains are still in the early evolved stage of solving problems.
It's soooo naive to look at the africans as if they are surviving, and thriving through their unity as a ppl. I.E. the Orchestra: He became overwhelmed, gimme a break. EACH ONE of thoses ppl in the orchestra are their for their own personal gain, not anything to do with suffering! Humans give themselves way to much credit!!
This is finally a reasonable documentary sereies about Africa and how we struggle to surive and that you see each place a different way than ever before
with a little video editing and some nice music you can try to spin a story any way you want. The fact is the only Africans in this video that were mildly educated were the ones that lived for decades in Europe. Ant then there was that idiot that said "well I was robbed in Rome so Nigeria isnt that bad" Yeah smartass you can also be robbed in Switzerland, but you can never compare the CRIME RATE there to Nigeria or any African nation.
Very nice film, but no way is the Congo a democracy today...! In fact violation of it's sovereignty and right to selfdetermination is worse than ever, with an illegal president who in fact is just a representative of rwandan occupation of the congolese territory.
@guitarplayer714 I just listened to the same Rogan Podcast and I also wanna know which Documentary Rogans talking about too!, its Joe rogan podcast 168 at 31:36 min mark. Someone find it!
@dukeoftheoaks If "being with their own kind" means that black americans need to move back to the contenent of Africa, then you should set the example by re-enstating the Indians Tribes and moving back to Europe. Your first thought would probably be that you are American not European. By that viewpoint Black Americans have just as much right as White Americans to live here because we both came to this country at the same time.
@MrSunburstStrat778? My question is, how many African Americans Visits Africa and how many goes 2 Thailand or Japan for instance? U so the Africa they never show on tv so that at least ur could invest your money here in Africa. White American visits their Native Island, England, France as well as the African Safari. dmthead2012? Uc BBC London thank u for showing the positiveness of Kinshasa, Lusaka and South Africa!
Great documentary, really gives you a proper feel of Africa. I remember when I was traveling around Mexico, I got the exact same feeling about that country that you get from Africa. All the country needs is some investment. The people there are so spirited and resourceful, they just need some help. Western and Chinese companies need to stop taking their resources and throwing them crumbs, and start really investing some major capital into improving the quality of life in these nations.
I dont believe that Congo had ever changed from Colony to Tyrany, it is still under colonial influences, even though it is no longer only Belgium as the Country in charge, now it is also under colonial rule of western imperialism
Chinese investing Billions in a country that is corrupt and in shambles? This is an investment in robbery! Do you think they are going to play by the rules now that the mineral wealth starts flowing their way? No Way. It is wrong, corrupting and destroying for China to do this. Africa unite and do something before it is too late!
@mahballzrhari yeah you're probably right. What the Congolese need is a good honest leader who can empower the people and country to take charge. I'm guessing the minerals and resources are so valuable they have corrupted everyone who tries. I'd love to see them become a solid developing country with good values, happy productive citizens and a sense of pride and wealth. peace.
@TheNaturalust That is exactly what Rhodesia was and look what happened. Rhodesia was the most forward country in Africa and feed most of the continent, with a higher standard of living than could be found elsewhere.
Along came the Communist, the whites were pushed out, the government was collapsed and the Afrikaner took over.
the slave knew he was a slave for his slavery was objectified around his neck in the form of a chain...now, we are all slaves, but don't know it because our chain is much longer than previous generations...capitalism is the enemy, not imperialism or colonialism (those are just higher forms of capitalism). unite sisters and brothers against an inhumane economic system that has enslaved us all. progress and freedom means nothing in a world where 38% of ppl make less than $2.50 a day. UNITE!
why is it that Africans need to defend their nation against imperialist perspectives? The most "developed" and "technologically progressive" nations, you will find, are also the very same ones that pillaged, raped, and destroyed the "undeveloped world." Capitalism is not the solution, its abolition is the only answer.
@iiNDiTC I second that question. What would you put in place of capitalism? The natural resources of this country are too valuable , too easily exploited in a hurry. IMHO we need a system which promotes a profit motive for empowering the majority. A profit motive that condemns vast exploitation by a few corporations (no long term accountability or liability) and allows the relatively poor people to stand up to the corruption of a quick $. Controlled capitalism/democratic values perhaps

a good segment. Although, I wish he had focused more on the role of the 'west' and capitalist corporations in plundering resources... rather then relegating it simply as the issue of "corrupt politicians" ... yes they are corrupt, but they are 100% sustained by so-called "democracy" and "peace" loving nations in the west.
Thank you so much Mr Jonathan. We really appreciate your contribution to the need for change of perception about Africa. Africa does not need a pity as you said and I completely agree with you. May God give you many more years to see Africa prevailing against all the odds.
