  • Pete nice job. You captured the bonze vibe on a great zep tune. Love those dbls. Rock on bro. 4reminds me of Louie bel son in some weird way. (my guess is you are a closet jazz guy)

  • @Cnb621 thanks man.....jazz or rock it's all the same.

  • The guy can play you try it.

  • Plant definitely said they would hide the second drum from him in interviews!!!!

  • Nice tubs.

  • Fantastic, and so powerful!

  • Amazingly full boomy rich power

ful classic Ludwig sound! Great playing!

  • are those the same size trees as bonzo's

  • obviously you can drum, even wide open kicks like the man himself. if you want to do yourself justice, use a condenser mike, that's my only complaint. Great playing though!

  • fantastic friend.

  • Dude I would love to jam with you, so bloody hard to find a decent drummer much less with the cool Zep timing roll and tempo spins. If you are in TX look me up.

  • @petecatz Hey Pete, All i got to say is you did an excellent job covering this song. Don't listen to all these hard ass fuck heads who think they know what Led Zeppelin is all about. I'm not saying this is perfect, nor is it easy, but half these dip shits couldn't play half what you just did. So with all my respect, don't listen to these ass holes and let Jon Bonham, Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, and John Paul Jones Live on Forever.

  • nice drumming , very cool drum kit , and you deserve positive feedback

and john henry bonham was , and will be the best drummer on earth !

  • Dont listen to the jealous people that insult you. You did a good job and it sounds good.

  • I enjoyed this, and I'm diggin the sound of your kit!

  • great

  • this guy can play!

  • @mac21982 haha yeah exactly xD

  • CHILL PEOPLE! it's good, it's not Bonzo, but still is a tribute... RESPECT

  • oh god.............

  • I can't believe that these files have been posted for years without legal challenges, but they are still there -check this page out.

can't post active links here, so copy, paste, add the dot and remove the spaces.

  • listen were all on the good side here... as in fucking good music!!? why fight. theres too many tasteless fags out there making songs like black and yellow

  • the guy is a great drummer, but the sound quality is not so good

  • i think this is pretty damn cool.

  • I really enjoyed watching, always amazed by drummers. Great Job!

  • Nice kit! I would get two stickers made for the front heads.....change the logos to "LOUDWIG"!!! just for fun.

  • dude, I'm sure I'd have fun playying bass with you!

  • this is my dream drum set

  • No doubt dang good!! acoustic's suck though! Wish the sound was better so I could hear what your doing better but i can tell just by watching you that your good!!

  • beautiful

  • Hey Petezcats do a cover of american woman dude you rock!!!

  • Well done, man. You have a nice tight, controlled swing, good chops, good timing, good groove. ALL the importnt stuff is in place! Good choice of song, too. I've always thought Achilles was one of Bonzo's most shining moments.

And that kit...do I really need to even say how AWESOME it is?!?!?!?! Reminds me of Alex Van Halen's kit on the Women and Children First tour!!!

Anyways, Joedrums and daJodge be damned, you rock brother.

  • love the technique, love that kit.....looks like an old school avh kit

  • Sounds great... that kit is sweet!

  • Awesome!

  • Just like bohnam, using the wrists instead of bashing with the arms.

  • that song really great

  • how long have you been playing

  • Sweet kit dude! What year?

  • This would be cool if we didn't all know he'd been practicing for this video for the last 35 years.

  • @daJodge for your information I never practice drums....I posted these vids because I made a few comments on Joedrums youtube site (something about his weak use rimshots) and the guy went insane with about a million and a half insults stating that I have no videos because of no drums, no camera or a job....I mean what a fucking idiot! So I went on line and showed the world how to play Bonham. What's the big deal?

  • @petecatz dont be so mad, He tried to say that this song is awesome and hard to play, and then you needed to practice like 35 years (exagerated too much)

about joedrums, he is not as good as he thinks, your work is much better

also we all like zep and bonham isnt it? no needs to get mad :)

  • @petecatz what ever happened to joedrums. i think i know the answer.

  • @2bullitt I'm not sure....what happened?

  • @daJodge Most stupid, ignorant post in a long time

  • Awesome job man!

  • i'd invest in drum mics so that your amazing talent is captured in a less distorted way haha. VERY VERY good my friend!

  • Very difficult song. Nice performance.

  • sweet kit, great sounding drums for sure

  • You make it look so easy. Luv your style!!!!!

  • DON´T CHANGE THE SOUND. I love the "roomy" sound. Sounds really Bonham. Sounds GREAT!

    Your playing to.

    CHEERS!!!

  • heh.. I was just playing along with this video on guitar and the timing is dead on...

  • @davinci5152 - of course the timing's dead on, he's playing along with a recording. If it wasn't dead on it'd be pretty embarrassing.

  • How the hell did you get that. I love it. It is almost just like cozy powells kit. im in love

  • Love the kit. I've played Ludwig all my life. Nice relaxed style. Keep rockin.

  • What a nice ludwig set you got! very cool drumming

  • i never thought this was a hard beat. i picked it up the first time i heard it

how long have u been playing?

  • i cant play this beat even what i do i can play much harder faster or slower beats but its impossible to play this for some reason i dont know why, i can play smells like teen spirit, where gonna groove, since i been loving you, dani california and sleep now in the fire easy but i cant figure out how to play this

  • nice

  • Very nice kit! Vintage?

  • if it bothers you so much then you better get on page and plants ass; it's his fucking nickname!

  • i read somewhere that he would set-up two bass drums during rehearsals, and when he would go to the bathroom they would take one away and hide it,because he was so powerful with just the one.

  • He,d play fills with odd timing on two bass drums and that gave Jimmy Page the shits, so they took one away.

ref: (When giants walked the earth) by Mick Wall.

  • @billycat1965 I heard the same thing for Steven Adler, the exact same thing.

  • @billycat1965 That is a fact I saw a Bonham tribute and they inter viewed the rest of the band and I believe it was Robert Plant that said that

  • @billycat1965 if true thats just epic lol

  • very smooth motions

  • the drums are over powerin g the music i carnt hear the actull song :D

  • I recall reading somewhere that he tried it with two but it drowned out the rest of the music.

  • i LOVE this song SO much - GREAT playing btw :D

  • I would of love to have heard bonzo played a double bass drum...hey he rock it with one but two is always better...

  • he tried to play 2 bass drums, not a double pedal, but he overpowered the band.

i read somewhere that the double pedal was invented after he died, cant confirm this though.

  • Had a kit just like that when I was growing up.

I need my ass whipped for selling them.

  • thats a sweet drum kit

  • Nice job ... I would imagine you are not using both bass drums as I think Bonzo recorded it with a single bass.

As a silly note, your walking in to the intro reminded me of what Cozy Powell did in a later Black Sabbath video (post-Ozzy, post-Dio) where he walked onto the set just before his drum part began for the song.

  • bonham had used a double base in some rehearsals but any time he took a head call another member of the band threw one out the window so he finally gave up and stuck to a single base with a single pedal of which he mastered quit well

  • Is that recorded in an empty garage, with just the built in camera mic??

  • thats a pretty sweet set dude. and you play it well too.

  • definitely some jazz influences in there...

  • you play very well and ypur kit its awesome!!!

    congratulations

  • Awesome!! I like the jazz influence to. I was a rock hack which was fun but the real beauty is watching the fusion of rock and jazz.

  • man i love the 24x16 base drums they have a nice full tone

  • there's no need for quality...

i see that you only move the sticks at breaks, without moving your whole arm. John Bonham had learnt this thing only in '74-'75. i mean... there is a difference between "the song remains the same" concert and the "knebworth" one

i also love the finesse in hitting the crash cymbal on your right!

i could say you are a little "jazz-ier" than Ian Paice

is that the kind of stainless steel kit that Bonham used? isn't that kit heavy?

  • omg... i love your smooth jazzy drumming!!!

  • those are some big ass bass drums!

  • thats the way bonham liked em

  • nice job! thats some kit! i dont play double bass or double pedal , im just a ham an egger,

i have my hands full just playing one bass drum. Buddy once said to somebody "what do you need two bass drums for you got a bass, a floor tom and a tenor tom some cymbals what else do you need"... then proceeded to sit down at that guys kit and play some amazing dble bass lick.

  • i always come across these guys "im better then so n so i could out drum Bonzo, i try to tell them maybe now, now that these guys navigated uncharted waters, so what you can drum this or that chart with ease , your not the guy who came up with it, who lead the way

when there was nobody to set the example, to learn from, like Bonzo , i get all these nuts oh hes not that good, blah what about the guy from ... Bonzo did for rock what Krupa did for swing and Buddy did for jazz

  • wow bro! man you named 'em. very cool. Sonny Greer! wow! i thought i was the last guy on the planet that knew who he was. Chick, Zutty

Chicago boys- Davey Tough. ya know these guys had a big influence on Krupa(who i consider the king of drums)I mean Buddy was great but Buddy was a little rough around the edges personality wise. (my pop bodyguarded him a few times, always said he should of let Rich get his ass kicked but thats another story.) thanks for remembering these guys

  • todays guys are all about speed and trying to reinvent the wheel. IMO Levon Helm (The Band)

for musical approach and playing to suit the song and "phrasing" Simon Kirke (Bad Co) for rock solid time, meat and potatos drumming.

both rely on rudiments break down the beats and fills and you'll see

  • Big Sid Catlett! I quote Louie Bellson, " any drummer who has not been influenced by Big Sid, is not a drummer. im sure it was more relevant back a few years but what he was refering to was the smooth and ease Big Sid brought to drumming, and the absolute fantastic control he had over his instrument. Sid was a big dude but he did not play with a

    bombastic take over style.

  • whats the size of your bassdrums?

  • Your set is awesome.

  • hey, john bonham only uses one bass drum! I'm joshing, this rocks.

  • Heck yah man, very relaxed playing, the way it should be!

  • Sounds like a one-man riot, which is what it should be like

  • Good job man!

  • i would love to finish this song my gutarist always gets a bit lost in here not suprising though

  • TWO BASSES LOOK COOL! This one bass of today is for WHIMPS!!! It all came on from the lazy kids of this day and age. Too freakin LAZY to carry a second bass. Again... WHIMPS!!!

  • is this the studio or knebworht 79 version i cnat tell

  • Regardless of how many bass drums are being played, that was an excellent, controlled and skilled piece of drumming - great work!!

  • who the hell cant play that with two base pedels? play it like bonzo, with 1 kick drum, and i may be impressed,

  • yes! with one kick!

  • F#cking AWsome!!!

  • Not alot of people catch John Bonhams, quirky ways on the drums, like making a second symbol sound on a high hat then closing it. It's such a loveley production! It sounds amazing! GREAT JOB! This is my favorite Zepplin song EVER!

  • you got some fat-ass drums!!

  • Great job pete! Achilles last stand is my fauvorite song

  • Super kit :D gorzej z dzwiękiem :)

  • the quality sucks but u still did an WESOME JOB!!!!!!!!!!! sweet kit, awesome snare!!!!

    Rock On!!

  • thank you, that was awesome!

  • Hi Pete I just posted my short version....

    froggman

  • How much did this kit cost/ with and without stands and cymbals

  • Very good cover indeed, but you should consider getting some mics because the camera's built mic cant really capture the true sound of your drums.

  • Wow very nice!! I love the drums, too.
