Good taste! I ripped the music from the site back when the movie was coming out because I thought it was so awesome.

I thought this would have sounded pretty good in the film. The score that exists in the film now is ok but rather indisinct and boring. This sounds somewhat similar to Jan Hammer only updated to the 2000's. Seems like RZA did his homework before the movie.

The thing is most of what they talk about in the film isn't interesting. The Departed is mostly a dialogue driven film, it's fun as hell to watch. Miami Vice just put me to sleep. Also, with a title like Miami Vice the energy should have been much higher. But I guess Mann prefers somber over fun.

I wouldidn't say Miami Vice the movie is bad but definitely by the numbers and boring. The best part was the opening in the club and final shootout. The rest of the film I can't even understand why it was made if all Crockett and Tubbs are going to do is look mean and talk with bad guys ALOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is a piece of music the RZA composed for the movie, but, Mann replaced him with John Murphy siting creative differences. Great piece of music. Wish it was in the movie.
