  • What crap. This video clip should never have been posted. The guy faffing around with her dress seems even more stupid than the would-be organist. Was he trying to pull it up so as to show off her fat ass? The Crystal Cathedral organ stool deserves better guests. Go home mam and get some lesons.

  • Some very nice chords, but if that was all there was to it, hardly necessary for their to be any sheet music required?

  • Wheres the amazing part????

  • With reference to the title of the clip: you have a very peculiar and idiosyncratic understanding of the word "amazing"

  • My late mother was a Julliard piano grad, and at age 92 could give a 45 minue recital of classic music from memory, I'm not very impressed!

  • Love it! A nice looking woman playing an organ with the sound of "doom." I wish the clip was longer.

  • it looks like the organ is situated in some kind of zoo or farm for amphibious creatures? certainly doesnt look like a church anyway..?

  • the organ sounds great

  • I know organists who play two services before noon with no music, then play a 4 hour piano gig later, no music. What's so amazing?? Not much in this video.

  • bbw milf

  • I just read that no organist should have to memorize the music and be expected to manipulate the instrument in a concert as well. BALDERDASH. No one will pay $100.00 a ticket to watch an organist squinting to try to see music and flip music sheets, trying to maintain tempo. Virgil Fox memoriuzed all the works of JS Bach, Louis Vierne and ,many more by th age of 20 by. He went 3 day early to practising mastering the organ he was to play.He didn't skitter in20 minutes early and wing a concert.

  • I think you're confusing "amazing organist" with "amazing organ". The organist cannot be amazing, she had to be told which pedal to use. Bad start.

  • I could do better

  • Don't be so hard, this is clearly a video of the persons mother. And the only point is that it is amazing to the person who posted it. If you're an organ enthusiast, then encourage the interest that younger generations take in it. And don't let a video that doesn't tickle your fancy get you all bummed out. If you want filtered media, that is what cable is for.

  • @78chuck No, that's what YouTube is for. I can't post comments about a television show and be assured that the producer will read it. I can certainly do that here, and that's one of the beauties of this medium. Yeah, I get what you're saying -- it's harsh to bag on this guy's mom. I get it. But if you can't take criticism (some of it downright caustic), don't ask people to "PLEAE [sic] LEAVE COMMENTS"!

  • @schepler2 Hi, well that's part of my point. The TV producers are paid well for their work, and if it is not good, then they should hear about it. But a video like this is posted by someone like you and me, sharing a sliver of their personal life with us. However I can't argue that the request to leave comments does open up the door for critique though. I guess I would just like to see more constructive criticism in the world.

  • I love the crystal cathedrale pipe organ...

what was your mom playing there?

  • Lol I'm sitting there waiting for the organ to start, and when it does, it's stops lol

  • "PLEAE LEAVE COMMENTS." OK, how about this? "Pleae" learn how to spell "PLEASE."

  • this lady is a joke! there is nothing amazing about her.

  • ESA MUJER TOCA HERMOSO....FELICIDADES!!!

  • I was told the organ has water damage from broken glass pains leaking and is not 100 percent playable. The Catholics are buying the church. I belive the courts picked them because of their financial backing. I hope they keep the organ and rebuild it and bring it back to its glory. I wonder if they do, if they will have the services on TV?

  • @pastort1966 Too much religious rubbish on TV.

  • I can also listen to songs and 'pick'/ figure parts of it out just from listening. Infact I find it so much easyer that way to sit, listen, watch and repeat myself, it's the learning from sheet music I find hard as you have rember all the meaning behind the symbols to me it's just as trick as learning lanuage in a way.

Saying that when I was learning to play 'properly' I found the sheet music helped me keep my place in the song.

Your mum is very good though from what little I ave seen

  • Comment removed

  • It's not so hard to rember how to play a song without the music once you have learnt it as you have had to replay and repeat it over so many times to do so. It's like a bike you never truly forget and though you might be a little rust you soon pick it up again.

  • @evilblondgoth Virgil Fox practised 4 hours every day of the week. He required all his students to practise 2 hours every day to. He required them to do at least a half hour on piano scales first prior to touching the organ keyboards. That's how you learn to memorize your music, hard work! I know,,I watched it happen many times for the 17 years I worked for him.

  • @DavidSnyderLumierist Inddeed that is true I am just sayng it is not as easy for soem people to do so as it is for others. I have several learning disorders and subsquently I have had to work as hard to be at a level that people without learning disablitys take for granted. for example learing to read, ride a bike, to tie my shoes, to tell the time ect. I do struggle and but has nothing to do with me not trying hard enough, it's just my though proccesses arent the same as some peoples.

  • Oh very nice!! I was waiting to hear the rest of the song!! I got to see inside the Crystal Cathedral once, back in the 80's on a trip back west. Whatever happened to the building and the organ after Mr. Schueller (sp?) had to close his church?? Sad. But it had (has?) a magnificent organ for sure. I bet your mom was excited to play on it, and without music - that's awesome too!!

  • @KSMSDRPEPPER Take heart brothers and sisters. God's work continues within the walls of the Crystal Cathedral despite changes that seem so |new". Take heart, things will all work out for the best. Pray for them.

  • what a joke, she didn't play anything.

  • There's a little Marilyn Monroe thing going on around her dress :-)

  • 0.45 seconds, i would like to see/hear the rest too!

  • ¿Qué tiene de asombrosa está mujer? Aparte de muy gorda, no vi nada de llamar la atención.

  • Why only 45 seconds?

    We want more.

  • the cockpit of a plane looks less complicated

  • @Kaaxe yep i play organ and im only 13 when i first started out i was all like WTF?? but its not as hard as it looks

  • What happened at 0:45? Your battery go flat?

  • This looks like crystal cathedrill

  • Wish there was more to hear!

What was the song ? it was pretty.

  • Wish there was more to hear!

  • Do you see her dress floating? she's farting into the seat. it's an organ who work with fart 8D

  • @FenrirLupus Nonsensical reply in context toward this clip. She's not playing an unfamiiar piece by instinct, she's sitting down and playing a few bars of something she can play. There is no indication at all she can read sheet music or actually knows how to play this instrument. It's similar to a kid walking into guitar center and plugging in and jamming the opening riffs of Smoke on the Water his older brother taught him. He's not a guitarist unless he knows the notes he plays.

  • Sadly, if the Catholics buy the building (Crystal Cathedral) they'll rip out this magnificent instrument and replace it with guitars, tambourines, and liturgical dancing... disgusting! individually those things are fine, but not in a liturgical setting...

  • Thumbs up if you were waiting for the wind to blow her dress up?

  • blowing mom

  • What the hell? Halve the video is about setting up the organ, and then only a couple of notes is recorded?? If you're going to post something like this under the title "Amazing Organist", how about recording the ENTIRE PIECE???

  • No comment ! D.BABEL

  • is that an air leak? or a fan that's blowing her skirt?

  • @clarkinthedark1

That's an interesting question. Where is all the air coming from?

  • would like to see more than :45 sec..thats stupid

  • Marilyn Monroe?! :D

  • Why do nobody tells the truth??? What she plays is nothing amazing, only prerequisite stuff to study sacred music. The only point is, she should be proud to have an admirative son/daughter.

  • Meaning all musicians that use notes are daft? PLEASE! Be proud of your mom all you want, but do not judge the musicianship of others.

  • I read "onanist"

  • thats stupid

  • As any professional organist knows, the organ is far too complex an instrument to play properly "from memory." Learning the unique signature of the instrument within its acoustic environment, then setting and resetting stops to yield different effects, and maximum enjoyment from the instrument requires far too much concentration to play pieces from memory. The organist reaching around and resetting stops as she plays confirms this point of view.

  • @jkorkow1 Well now that is taking it a little too far. Playing from memory shouldn't always be expected because some people simply can't do it and handle the instrument. However, there are performers who have mastered the beast and play from memory all the time. Give a listen to Ken Cowan. That guy has more music memorized than anybody I have ever met and he performs it flawlessly.

  • meh. Lots of people play from memory. That's not a sign of musicianship. Sorry.

  • @tubapizza well a lot of people show signs of true musicianship..sheesh

  • i thought title said amazing orgasm

  • 6th largest in the world?? I thought HW organ was #3 (#1 Wannamaker, #2 West Point Army Academy Chapel) -- O btw Atlantic City Conv center doesn't cound because most of it ain't working...

  • @steelersfanhawaii how to you "cound" something? or not "cound" it?

  • Yes, it's ok but not special. Any half decent organist can make imprssive noises on a big instrument - usually without sheet music. Organists are expert improvisers!

  • Does anyone know what song this is?

  • what a shame that the video is so short in duration I would have like to have heard more than the wee amount given

  • This is certainly not amazing! You might call it how te play NOT an organ! This really has nothing to doe with music....I understand that you as her child are astonished but if I were you I would not publish it here!

  • Is this in the Crystal Cathedral?

  • @StanHywet it says it is in the description, so yes, it is.

  • Well, Everyones Mom is amazing to them! Don't ya'll have Moms?

  • your mom is Amazingly overweight

  • @crustylion321 probably no more than you are!LOL!

  • @petterdiesel Theres this thing called slim-fast dude, tell her to try some. It burns calories fast and she looks like she needs her calories burned cause she will have a heart attack and die soon. Also, she is the worst organist I ever heard

  • @crustylion321 Well my Great Grandmother was much bigger! And she lived to be 96 years of age. And it's nice to hear people play the organ that does so for enjoyment and to praise the Lord, Not Organist that play for the money and the title of organist. Think of what Bach said, " The aim and final end of all music is the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul". Do you think that means you have to be a concert organist to do so?

  • Wow! Your mama is awesome! Wish I still could play the most awesome instrument ever! Pipe organ will never be outdone! How blessed to have a mama who plays so well! Tell her thanks as she I'm sure blesses others with her God given talent!

  • AWESOME!! I wish i could ever feel the power of playng one of the bigest pipe organ in the world!

  • Was there another part that would allow for the term amazing to be used? Not so fast. There was nothing amazing about this clip. She knows how to play some chords in Eb major. Wow, her and millions of others. Have fun :)

  • Not a lot of people can just walk up to a 5-manual pipe organ in the Crystal Cathedral and start playing it. They're pretty lucky if they get to.

  • @samc726 She doesnt, the resident organist does it for her, because she feels clearly squashed from the console (yes this organ is heavier), staying on the 2nd manual all the time. How naive...

  • I cannot believe she played that without sheet music, truly amazing!

  • I love how her dress is having a Marilyn Monroe moment .

  • All "moms" that play for their kids are great. My mom played "great" organ music, too.

  • Crystal Cathedral Baby!!!

    get me to garden grove.

  • "From memory.... great musicianship"

actually great musicianship is someone playing an unfamiliar piece straight from sheet music.

  • @batvette but the best musicianship is really getting to know a song for all its worth thinks I. If someone can read the sheet music and bust it out, thats amazing dont get me wrong. I need more than that. A connection behind it.

  • @batvette I would say that it's just one of the criteria for defining musicianship. Another criteria is having an excellent ear for music. This aspect is quite common among gospel musicians. But I think that the mesh between the 2 would separate the men from the boys.

  • @batvette No, that's called great sight reading. If we accept your definition, then, by consequence, Ray Charles sucks.

  • @batvette it is? I never understood how you can truly concentrate on the music and read at the same time, I can't. If I read I read and if I want to truly play something I play from memory. If I read I am too busy with reading to truly focus on what I am playing.

  • @philateliceun I think what batvette was saying is that once you get to the point where you can look at the sheet music and know what to do, and still put emotion and stuff into it, then you're pretty good.

  • @batvette Ahhh yes, it takes talent to play an unfamiliar piece from sheet music, but without an ear/memorization skills, take away your sheet music and all you have is a gigantic nick-knack shelf...

  • Amazing organist? Out of a :45 clip there's about 12 seconds of actual playing! She didn't even know which manual to play.

  • Are you sure you don't mean "Amazing Organ?"

  • @maxcohen13 ownage!!!

  • @maxcohen13 lol

  • nothing amazing...there was no WOW factor.....

most competent organist know a few songs by memory...

But why play just chords on that organ...

Play something that was written for organ, something bombastic...not measly chords..

  • Nothing wrong with her playing... but there is now WOW'ness in it either. It is just some chords and nothing more. But it certainly looks like an amazing organ.

    In comparison watch?v=hHZvMAJUN5g&feature=fvw

  • She's certainly competent, but "amazing"?? I don't think so.

  • @don94403 she's amazing to him/her becuase she is his/her mom. you would be proud of your mom right?

  • @don94403 I noticed that there is no music but it is very very very normal for a musician to play by heart! Besides that I think that this is just a kind of 'just doing something'. Terrible, the whole scene.

  • "now where do i play" yeah amazing organist :p

  • greatjojek- Thats why they make vanilla and chocolate

  • wonderful! thanks

  • I bet this lady can put a real hurting on this masive organ only if they let her play the entire song. She looks like she so relaxed. I would let her play at any of my functions

  • I almost wazzed my pants cuz of this sound! GReat sound! cant believe its from memory

  • can I adopt her?

  • I totally agree with jrm732, -what a nerve racking sound and also this silly man fooling around the organ all the time. These American boom boxes with their synthetic sound are most forbidding.

  • This lady is amazing, it's ashame she can't play the entire song

  • I bet that was the biggest highlight of her life. I wish we could hear more.

  • loved it!!!!! wat i would do for my mum to go and do that...

  • In response to Leipzig Kantor: This is obviously someone's mom having a go on an amazingly large and (probably) intimidating pipe organ - and not doing at all badly by the sounds of it. So, lighten up, and don't be an old misery! By the way, anyone that thinks what she is doing is not all that difficult should ask themselves what percentage of the population could attempt playing the simplest of tunes on an organ like this, from memory.

  • I so wish this was longer. Maybe next time. Thanks for sharing, you do have an awesome mom and she has a terrific kid. :)

  • Excellent!! kudos for this lady.

  • wow, what a sound the organ makes...really has gosto.

  • Yes, needs more.

  • Could you post more. What a great job! I wanted to hear more. Thanks for sharing her talent.

  • Please post MORE!!!

  • What stops are you using

  • Please play some more, you can feel the organ breathing when you play

  • why record 45 seconds and stop?

  • That is wonderful. She is amazing. I wish i could play like that. I play piano from memory like that, the organ is a different story. That was amazing

  • Well, that would have been a great video, but it was cut off....one star.

  • Koodoos to your mom!

  • more barefoot playing

  • Very lucky woman. I would give anything to play that organ.

  • Only three words; WOW! & MORE Please.

  • Shite

  • Sounds wonderful, what's there. Please, share more of your talent with us.

  • That was a bit short, good all the same.

  • that was good. i want more though.

  • @FrauenOrganist exactly. And why in the world is your comment marked as "spam"? There's nothing spammy about it. Just simple facts.

  • Comment removed

  • AWESOME WOMAN

  • This lady sounds like a professional. Beautiful sound, but maybe next time you could post something a bit longer. I'll be looking for her!

  • Wish there was more than 45 seconds...

  • The hymn she plays is The Strife is O'er- hymn tune name is VICTORY-

  • Thank you, it is a good ole Episcopalien Hymn, which starts out with Alleluia. I do remember now.

  • Someone please tell me what she is playing, It sounds like one of our Episcopalian hymns.

  • Im getting a tour of it pretty soon.

  • i want play this organ too

  • How did you manage to play this organ?

    Great playing!

  • I hope to be able to play like that in the future. Also, to play this nice instrument.

I do prefer concert artist who play from memory.

  • she's good! where is this organ?

  • in the Crystal Cathedral, California.

  • I'm so jealous!!!
