use the poke test. poke it with your finger, and compare it by touching the tip of your thumb, to the tip of your middle finger, and poking the fleshy part under your thumb. they should feel the same.
If you cook it between 300-350 degrees it will take 45 minutes to an hour. I like to put the coals on one side of the grill and the chicken on the other. This way you don't have to worry about the flames burning the "skin" of the chicken.
i just went shopping for all these ingredients and am just about to try it out! this will be my first time using an outdoor charcoal grill. this sounds like it'll be a great 'first time' memory =]
The best way is if you have a two level grill. Indirect heat works best because is slow cooks the chicken. This keeps the outside of the chicken from burning. If you have any other recipes let me know. I'll try them out and put them on here. If you have any ideas for something I'll give it my best shot.
Wow, now that is some great chicken. I just used your recipe and I am pretty impressed. The recipe is so simple, but yet so sweet and tangy. Thanks a lot.
Ooh! I'm sorry to hear that. I've never tried it in the oven, however, I normally cook plain chicken breasts in the oven for about 30 to 45 minutes at 325 degrees. You could try that. If you do and it tastes good I would love to hear about it. Just make sure the chicken is done before you eat it. Umm...I'm sure you knew that.
thanks, I'm gonna try it soon. you can't ever have enough chicken recipes.

Awesome. Thanks for the nice tips.
How long do you grill the chicken for on low heat? I suck at telling when a chicken breast is cooked unless i start cutting into it.

rare = just thumb muscle
medium rare = tip of thumb to tip of pointer
medium = tip of thumb to tip of middle finger
medium well = tip of thumb to tip of ring finger
well done = tip of thumb to tip of pinky finger

I appreciate the feedback on that. You are absolutely right. Could not have explained that better.

ok this looks pretty easy an sounds like it will taste good. how many ck breasts do you use with the half n half ingredients?
chicka0160 3 years ago
You can use up to four chicken breasts. I prefer the ones with rib meat and remove the bones. They taste better in my opinion.
