omg, teh english have my personal favourite units!!

the armoured swordsmen are as powerful as any other late and high heavy infantry and r half the upkeep cost, their retinue longbowmen can keep their own even when being charged by gothic knights (best cavalry in the game), and the heavy bill men (as u see) can slaughter anything and u can fill a city to the ears with them!!!

There is a Mac version of Rome: Total War.

Graphics aren't as good as in Medieval 2, but the gameplay is better. (less focus on boring sieges)

But u could simply install Windows on your Mac and play all the games you want.

performance depends on the graphics card in your Mac. (It's Mac not MAC)

All curent Macs have at least a GeForce 9400m which should be enough for this game.

Should have divided your army.... Don leave the knights in the center... They'll get slaughtered....

Form them up behind the spikes... Do it too to the rest of the army... The horsemen will just charged on wherever side the majority of the knights are....

you have to win all other nation by conquering them with the first five. if you wanna win byzantine empire take venice and conquer the, when you select campaign again you should have it

You have to conquer the nation you want to become in the game and then you can play as that nation in a new campaign.

At the start of this battle I have all of my men run towards the bottom right of where you start behind the stakes.

This kills all of the cavalry, and allows you to prepare for the cavalry that comes behind you easilly.

Battle is pretty easy imo.

True, that is the basic AI-winning strategy. I would like to learn more useful tactics, like how is it possible to win an all-spear army with cavalry or how to come at top with a significantly smaller army than the enemy´s. Sieges are the worst, it looks like there is no way to get those done with small casualties.

Slant your line on the flanks a bit so it looked lik the line sa little crookeed. They have to go farther to get behind you and you can move reinforcements quicker.

Nice copy and paste...and those what-ifs are stupid because the French couldn't flank the English because of the dense forest around them it would have taken so long for the french to navigate those forests and the cavalry couldn't either...and they couldn't do a full frontal because of the stakes the archers put into the ground=dead horses... add that with the 100 pound armor the knights and horses were wearing and the muddy ground from the rain overnight the French were doomed at the get-go

Actually, the English were flanked by the local French peasants under the command of their local baron. They even got into the English baggage train and gave the English such a few fearful moments they began to kill their captives which could have given them muct ransom money. If they attack had been supported and coordinated with the frountal assult victory would have gone to the French.

I hate having to reserve troops at the back for when the 2nd French army attacks from behind.

I either have a heavy billmen unit distracting them whilst having all my archers use fire arrows on one unit at a time.

Normally works, but it means you lose that heavy billmen unit for the entire battle.

this battle is easy though, the only time you need those the heavy billmen apart from defeating the guys behind you, is to use the unit on the right flank to attack the french swordsmen who go for your longbow, but get tangled in the stakes, apart from that, the English knights, your general and your long bowmen easily take care of the infantry.
